HOME IS THE HEART

Home is the heart from which don't depart
for God is found there deep inside
does speak to us clearly
and loves us so dearly
this home is the place to abide

We've travelled away for many a day
as pilgrims we surely did wander
no longer to roam
we've found our way home
to the Centre of Being to ponder

It surely has taken much time to awaken
but now we at last know the truth
that while we did wander
to here, there and yonder
we've come home to the Fountain of Youth

Now happily be - in the process be free
for the heart of the matter is light
and love that's divine
'tis surely sublime
so reside where the sun shines so bright

This place it is heaven - the bread it is leaven
this space in the heart that is home
where we've always been
with the One that's supreme
now remembered, no more need to roam

TAKING UP RESIDENCE WITHIN

Have you not been that child who has asked
"Have we arrived yet, dear Father?"
the time it is now for at last we've arrived
and we needn't seek further nor farther

For now we've grown up and are home with the One
we've taken up residence within
where home has been always yet pilgrims we've been
searching outside for our Kin

Our Kin has forever been deep in our heart
the family of One that we are
let's join in communion at the hearth of the One
and now know we've arrived from afar

The home of the One where our soul does reside
is furnished with love and with peace
in this journey of life that we've taken for eons
we've always been home, what relief!

No more then do wander away from within
but instead do stay close to the fire
that's warming, inviting and welcoming too
and at last know we're out of the mire

HOME

Where is home I hear you ask?
a bricks and mortar build?
yet is this not a transient
attempt to have us filled

With life of things material
rather than things deeper
that goes beyond the outer
into the sacred keeper

Where found within the heart of all
the home where all is peace
of One whose glory is profound
and wonders never cease

No matter where we find ourselves
we've always been at home
no more the need to wander then
nor let our hearts to roam

No more do seek or search to find
just turn ourselves inside
for there is where our home is true
and there we do abide

It's not a place we journey to
or come and go at will
for everywhere we come or go
our home is with us still

This sacred heart which is our home
contentment reigns supreme
its been with us for eons and
no more we need to dream

Instead at last surrender to
this home of God divine
that's filled with love n'er fore been lived
so now let's drink the wine

And toast the host of glory
in this perfect place of our's
this place of sweet contentment
with the scent of heaven's flowers
