Allen County Dog Warden and Lima Police Department are now completing annual compliance checks to make sure dogs are licensed and wearing tags.

If a dog does not have tags or license, the owner has the option of purchasing them, or their dog will be seized. After taken from it's home, the dog may then be put up for adoption. Or euthanized.

Earlier this year, the Smithsonian released a controversial study on cats.  In the study, scientists estimated that 2.4 billion birds and 12.3 small mammals are killed by domestic cats each year in the United States.

Cat lovers strongly disagree with the study. On May 1, Alley Cat Allies delivered a petition with 55,000 signatures to the Smithsonian.

Barchiel went from living outdoors on a mattress in a vacant lot in TX to being on death row at a dog shelter.  Thank you to all the animal advocates who rallied and helped save Barchiel.  Thanks to you, he was rescued and will be going to South Dakota!  There is a link in this article for a Fundrazr if anyone can please help donate for his transportation and medical costs.  This adorable, loveable pup had such a rough life, he deserves a second chance!  Please share.

Many of the dogs removed from Pedigree Pets were emaciated and ill, and had infections and wounds. They were found living in filthy conditions. Pregnant dogs. Tiny puppies. Senior dogs, too.

Yet the owners of this puppy mill received no jail time, even though between them, they had a whopping 723 animal cruelty charges.

When found, Eve weighed only 25 lbs., only half of what her weight should have been. The dog could not even move when she first arrived at the animal hospital. Her body temperature was so low it didn't even register on a thermometer,

Scared stray dog living on on a dirty mattress needs rescued in Pharr, Texas.  There is a lot of vehicle traffic in the area, so his safety is a big concern.

This is an urgent plea to help the “mattress dog”. If there is anyone in the Pharr, Tx. area that can check on and help him, he was seen on Feb. 22 in the empty lot on South Jackson Street at the corner of Old Ridge Road.

The Richland County Dog Shelter is sending out an urgent plea. Although they have not had to euthanize a dog in over a year due to lack of space, right now the shelter is critically full.
