John McCain and Sarah Palin have stopped talking about the issues, and have instead launched a strategy relying on fear-mongering, racial divisions, and hate. The result is McCain/Palin supporters saying "terrorist!" "traitor," and more, at rallies, with the McCain campaign playing dumb in response. It's outrageous and it must stop. Together, we can show that Americans of all races won't stand for this.

The 6 Food Sovereignty Principles 

Most people don't know what Credit Default Swaps (CD are.  The Republicrats want you to stay ignorant.

A CDS is a contract to insure that a debt (mortgage, bond, other financial debt) does not default.  The first part of the fraud was that you could take out a contract to insure any debt -- even if it was already insured.  Hundreds of CDS were taken out on the same Leman Brothers Debt.  This is like being allowed to take out a life insurance policy on your neighbor because he isn't looking healthy and you want to make money when he dies.  The people who took out these CDS didn't have the money to pay off if the debt defaulted.  They thought they were protecting themselves by both buying and selling CDS.  There was a market for CDS which was active so that the people buying and selling them had no idea what was behind them.  Offering insurance without licenses or the means to pay is a crime.  The biggest Insurance company AIG, was part of the fraud, so millions of people were paying for insurance when AIG didn't have the assets to pay them if their house burned down.  Millions of people deserve a refund of the premiums they paid for insurance that wouldn't pay if the ponzi scheme collapsed -- which it just did.

There are 60 Trillion $ in CDS.  For one fourth this amount, you could pay off every home mortgage in America.  For one 20th of this amount you could stop the foreclosures and keep people in their homes.

Last Thursday, the Fed pumped a trillion dollars into the economy over and above the 700 billion $ congress approved.  This probably is happening daily, and probably increasing.

None of this is designed to address the mortgage crisis.  The former CEO of AIG who was part of the fraud --  is being allowed to walk away with $70 million dollars.

This was voted for by large numbers of Democrats and Republicans including both presidential candidates.

This is not so businesses and homeowners can get credit -- that's a big lie they're both telling.  They should have used the bailout money to create a new financial system -- using the buildings and employees of the bankrupt and corrupt institutions.

On Monday, we won an incredible victory when the House defeated Paulson's Plunder by 228-205, despite overwhelming pressure on the House from the White House, Wall Street, and the Corporate Media.

The only reason we won was because hundreds of thousands of grassroots activists like you called and emailed Congress! The Senate will vote at 9 pm ET today, so call your two Senators first and say "Filibuster the Bailout!"

Call your Representative too because (s)he will have to vote again on Friday. Our chances of defeating the bailout are much better in the House because everyone is up for re-election on November 4, compared to only 1/3 of the Senate.
