I would like to tell all my friends how much you mean to me.  I get so much from so many of you ~ petitions, photos, blogs, messages ~ that I know I am thought of often by many different people, and I, in turn, think of them.   The people of Care2 have made me a better person.  I am more aware of the environment, animals in difficult and critical situations, shady government practices, and so much more information that flows through the Care2 network.

I have been able to get support from many people on the various medical conditions I have, and they have given me ideas to help me feel better.  So many are there for me when I am sad or lonely, and so often you make me laugh.

I just wanted to say "Thank You" ~ you mean so very much to me.

Seal Massacre to last at least until 2010

I recently received a reply from David Sweet, Conservative, M.P., Ancaster-Dundas-Flamborough-Westdale.

In his letter, Mr. Sweet advised me that a 2006-2010 Atlantic Seal Management Plan had been announced March 15/06, the Total Allowable Catch for 2006 is 325,000, and subsequent years will be consistent with levels set in recent years.

Mr. Sweet also says that 98% of the seals are killed in an acceptably humane manner, as reported by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) and the International Fund for Animal Welfare,(IFAW).  This means that more than 6,000 seals were slaughted in an unacceptable, inhumane manner in accordance with the CVMA and the IFAW.

Please write to Mr. Sweet and tell him that more acceptable methods have to be found if this massacre is to continue to ensure that all seals are killed humanely.  sweetd1@parl.gc.ca

Please also write the Prime Minister Harper at harper.s@parl.gc.ca asking him the same thing, and to outlaw this massacre.

It is not acceptable to torture 2% of prisoners.  It is not acceptable to torture murders and rapists.  It is not acceptable to torture terrorists.  Why is it acceptable to torture over 6,000 baby seals annually?

Virus alert

I have been warned of the following virus and am passing it along in case it is true.

If someone by the name of j_neutron07 wants
to add you to their list dont accept it. Its a virus. Tell everyone on
your list because if somebody on your list adds them you will get it
too. It is a hard drive killer and a very horrible virus. Please pass
this on to everyone on your list. We need to find out who is using
this accounts.
