Since we started the D.E.L.T.A. Rescue Humane Investigation Unit last year, the following facts have come to light, which you will find both interesting and disturbing, as a taxpayer and as an animal lover.
1. We exposed the rendering of dead animals from the pound and other sources in California . . . going into the human food chain! Since then the Chinese pet food affair surfaced . . . remember I told you that the dead pets from here ended up in Asia to go into the human food chain? And remember that I was the first to tell you that the same dead pets went into our American food chain? All true.
2. Remember you read a bunch of lies about me on the County Animal Control web site? One at a time we blew them away. The one about not having a license is particularly interesting. Here is the requirement for our getting a “license” — the license we have been exempt from since 1997. I am quoting the letter from the Director of Animal Control, Marcia Mayeda, to us dated 9/13/04:
“DELTA must provide the following information required by LA County Code ....
a. the name, current address and telephone number of the owner of each animal kept at the kennel.
b. the date such animal entered the kennel.
c. the reason for such animal being at the kennel, such as boarding, sale, breeding or grooming.”
Does this sound like a license for us? This is for a boarding kennel. And by our refusing such a wrong license they could tell the world that we refused a license, period. Clever! But they have no such license for us and that is part of why we have been exempt, and why they took no actionagainst us until we blew the whistle on the rendering of dead pets.
3. Remember the little 8-year-old handicapped girl, Adrianna Lopez? The county said they impounded her two ponies because of “neglect.” I proved that the absolutely heinous NEGLECT and SUFFERING inflicted on that first pony happened INSIDE ANIMAL CONTROL . . . under the watchful eye of “Professionals” who had him for 9 months! I have the photos and witnesses.
I tried to intervene to hospitalize “Blanco,” that first suffering pony, but out of spite to me, both Animal Control and Supervisor Antonovich rejected my overtures and killed Blanco, then destroyed his body (evidence).
Well, guess what else?! When we asked for the second pony to be returned to the heartbroken Adrianna, both the Director of Animal Control as well as Supervisor Antonovich lied to you and the media, saying they could not return her because she was placed in a “loving new home,” in a rich neighborhood? That is absolutely NOT TRUE!! We have the sales receipt (#A3209927)! The pony was “adopted” for $5 (an unheard of amount) to an Animal Control employee. The home address listed for him was also a LIE
. . . it turned out to be the street address for the Downey Animal Control shelter!
And both the person who “authorized” the adoption on the receipt, and the person who “adopted” the pony, told us they were not involved in the adoption at all, that the Director of Animal Control just “used my name!” They said Mayeda totally falsified county records. And THAT is a crime.
They stole Adrianna’s second pony after torturing and killing the first one from neglect. Then they lied about it, then they tried to cover it up. And both Mayeda and Antonovich are still in office!
4. Los Angeles County Animal Control has broken state and federal drug control laws! They did not keep mandatory controlled drug logs for such drugs as the one used for euthanasia. And some of that drug and other controlled drugs are “missing!”
As a result of our findings a federal agency is conducting their own active investigation of drug crimes within LA County Animal Control. And by the way, since our investigation began, a number of high-level Animal Control personnel have hurriedly left the department!
5. I was told that in order to “look good” to the humane community, Mayeda ordered the computer programs that track all incoming shelter animals to be altered— to be reprogrammed to lie!
And that animals are “hidden” within the software to keep the department’s euthanasia numbers lower than they actually are. This is also tied into the drug control abuse of the narcotic that is supposed to be used for euthanasia . . . as well as hiding the true supply of dead animals — the pets they are entrusted to care for — sent to the rendering company.
6. “GET GRILLO!” was their battle cry. Someday I will tell what they did to me personally . . . all to stop me from telling you the truth about the food you’re eating.
Fortunately, we have controls against tyranny. One is the powerful FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT. Any citizen . . . and that means YOU TOO! . . .can ask for any document within the government and the government mustprovide it or face legal challenges. All I ever wanted to do is save lives, but I have to fight all these battles too. If Marcia Mayeda and Mike Antonovich REALLY LOVED animals as they proclaim to their public, none of this would be happening.
To save the animals in the wilderness, and to save the animals from suffering at the hands of their “Protectors” in the pounds, I am fighting with both fists!

Marcia Mayeda and her band of bloodthirsty killers of LA county animal control-raid Equus Horse Sanctuary in Juniper Hills (animal control has no right to apply for or execute search warrants). They are there RIGHT NOW slaughtering horses (SEE COMMENT Please sign petition below and send letter to Gov. Schwarzenneger (link in story).
