Thousands of dogs "go missing" every year.  Sometimes, their starved and mutilated (ears are often cut off to remove identification) bodies are recovered in conditions indicating a terrible death, by any number of depraved methods, after prolonged suffering .  Even the more humane methods are inhumane because of the sheer numbers of dogs which are killed.

The industry feigns "shock" and "condemnation" at the recent media coverage of the canine killing fields, but refuses to implement the far-reaching reforms and complete overhaul that is needed to end the horrific suffering of greyhounds before, during, and after their racing days are over.

Two trainers were suspended as a result of the "discovery" and the story is fading from the public's consciousness.  The initial outcry seems to be quelled by the scapegoating of these two individuals.  But dogs will continue to be exploited and abused and killed at the hands of trainers and track owners until the racing and the betting ends.

which gives details and directions for the protest.

Excerpt:

Most important of all, Lord David Lipsey, who presides over the mass slaughter of greyhounds from his position as chairman of the British Greyhound Racing Board, lives in a luxury house right next to the Common and will be able to see our protest gathering from his window!

We intend this to be a gentle, enjoyable event, for human and canine participants alike, but with an important message for the government, the public and the greyhound racing industry.

There will be speeches and a minutes silence in memory of the many hundreds of thousands of victims of greyhound racing, followed by the laying of wreaths and flowers outside David Lipsey's home in remembrance of those same poor dogs. A letter will be delivered to Lipsey from Greyhound Action calling on him to recognise the error of his ways and to join us in our efforts to bring the greyhound racing industry to an end.
