Sorry I have been gone so long, but have been with my mother from Oct. 4th to Nov. 4th..The Oncologist has said the cancer has reached her bones an I will be going back up to NJ. to be with her after I recover from a Cardio Cath I am suppose to get done this coming week..
In the meantime, we have rescued 3 more seniors and 2 of our seniors are in dire need of surgery..Kristy needs a massive dental surgery or she could die from an infection, she is a 16 year old dachshund, that a woman dropped off to our place because she said she couldn't take care of her like she should plus that she didn't get along with the womans puppy..I guess she'd rather take care of a puppy then a loyal companion of 16 years..This little girl has had no vetting in over 2 years and she show it too...Then there is Buster who is needing surgery to remove his tail due to a large tumor imbedded in his tail so bad, that they can't just remove the tumor, they have to take the tail..Not sure if it is cancerous or not until after they remove it..

The Leland Mississippi Shelter is in such dire need that Jamie and I have decided to make an emergency run from Rushville Indiana to Leland Mississippi. The United States Animal Protection, a national animal rights group is helping with the van, vaccines and more, the volunteer's at ARRF are giving us a place to stay overnight and chipping in towards gas. The situationuppies have been freezing to death outside, rats are eating the dog food, sewage backs up into the shelter. The City of Leland owns the building but will not even provide food for the animals. The 4 volunteers have exhausted themselves physically and financially. In addition to the shelter being overflowing, a hoarder is willing to give up the 42 dogs he has. Leland is in dire circumstances! We will carry dog food, vaccines, tools to make necessary shelter repairs and provide womanpower to coordinate a weekend rescue effort. We will also be documenting the conditions at the shelter and the many starving strays in Leland.
If you are a rescue and are willing to take some of the Leland dogs, please message Gabby or email Linda at ubenframed@cinci.rr.com. We are also working to coordinate with rescues along our route home in hopes that we can find safety for the left over animals. We will be traveling through Cincinnati OH, Louisville KY, Bowling Green KY, Nashville TN, Memphis TN, Leland MS. Interstates I61, I40,I65. I was talking with my mom yesterday and she is not doing good at all..She was telling me that when she lays down, that her breast completely caves into her chest cavity which means the cancer has come back and is more wide spread than before..She will be going to the doctor's on Monday, but we already know what the answer is going to be, since she has had surgery for a cancerous tumor a little over 3 years ago and it is the same breast that is acting caving in on her now...She has also been in pain for the past couple of weeks which is an indication that the cancer is out of control..
I have been saving senior dogs now for the past few months and they have eaten up just about all our monies in vet bills...So, there is no money to get the battery that I need for my car or the money to get me from here in NC. to South Jersey...
I had planned a trip to see my mom in May, but not sure if she is going to make it till then..She is not doing well at all...
All I need is about 500.00 to get the batter and the traveling money to get up there to see her...Please help me get there before May as I am not sure if she will be around that long...

Now getting the fence is more important than ever, there have been so far that I know of 2 Mountain Lions that came down from the Mountains and had bit hit and killed on the side of the highway...We live off any main streets and are (were) sitting comfortably next to the woods...There is no more comfort now since it appears that either the drought here or an increase in building in the Mountain area has caused them to seek refuge in more occupied spaces ( The Foothills) where we live...So, please help us to keep our babies safe from these preditors...

Cali is in need of urgent medical attention..In stead of having 2 tumor there is actually 11..She is currently on antibiotics to help what may appear to be a yeast infection but is still needing major blood work and surgery on her teeth..We had found a big gaping hole in which you can see straight into her nasal cavity as well...She is also in need of biopsies on the tumors to find out which kind of cancer it is.... Please help so that she may have it a bit easier this Christmas..This is her first Christmas in a home that shows her more love than she has probably seen in her short 7 years of life...
