Having Shellie of Robin Hood Animal Rescue go through her tribulations with the banks, the NACA 'Save The Dream' folks, Freddie Mac, and more has made me so much more aware of our economy and my friends and neighbors in the community that are facing this terrible situation. More and more empty houses, that will not be bought by anyone except an investor for pennies on the dollar, continuing to take down property values for everyone, and leaving a huge number of homeless and jobless people - that are going to live where?  In their cars?  Along the parkway? Too frustrating for me to go on right now.

These dogs are currently in need of forever families - please consider them!  All of these dogs, and more (and cats too!) are in desperate need of homes - both of the directors of Robin Hood Animal Rescue have lost their properties that house the dogs and cats.  Shellie must be out of her property by Oct 20 - time is short!  Even though these animals are located in Arizona, interstate adoptions can be arranged with volunteer coordination and transports.  PLEASE help in whatever way you can and save these animals!  You can find Robin Hood Animal Rescue on Care2, Facebook, myspace, and Shutterfly!  Email Shellie or Bob at if you can help.

A Phoenix based animal rescue group, Robin Hood Animal Rescue, is in the final countdown to the loss of one of their properties (October 20 is the eviction date for Shellie's property in Buckeye).  This leaves them with perhaps one property to house their animals.  Bob's home is being 'evaluated' by Bank Of America to see if they will modify his loan or otherwise come up with something that would allow him to stay in his home.  Bob and Shellie started this non-profit animal rescue (501(c)(3)) in March of 2004, after working with several rescue and adoption groups over the last few years and being told that they could not pick up dogs off the street; or that there were certain dogs that they could not rescue from the Animal Care and Control Center because of their breed.  Bob (the director) decided that he had to start his own rescue: too many good dogs were going to end up dead with the popular notion held by many local groups that only "highly marketable" dogs should be rescued.  Bob and Shellie have saved many pits and other less marketable dogs and have found them forever homes - changing the way people view pit bulldogs at the same time.

The goal is to find forever homes for their remaining dogs and cats, then to regroup with a commercial property (such as a boarding facility or vet office that may be vacant) that will allow them to have more flexibility and community visibility, perhaps.  Here is a link to a local TV feature on RHAR:

If you can help by adopting a dog or cat, visit them on Petfinder:

Their care and concern for each and every one of their animals is amazing.  Please do what you can!  It will be appreciated by Bob and Shellie, and especially the dogs and cats....!
