april 26, 1918. bessie (betty) emma frenchville graham nicholson was born. of course she didn't have that many names then, but still. i've caught myself looking at the clock at 9:18 a lot. it just reminds me of her for some reason. 1918 9:18 - eh - it's something that clicks in my head. anyway i was trying to explain today the significance of it all today. i don't believe in ghost or spirits or angels or anything so concrete as that really. my grandmother was a pretty big part of my childhood. she lived with us and alzheimer's for close to 10 years. i was pretty upset about growing up in that situation. i wanted her dead for mine and her sake. anyway there's few entities that have passed that i feel not watched by, but my attention is drawn to. she's one. john lennon is another. it's not a close personal human relationship that can be defined easily. it's more about relating to aspect of the universal consciousness. my mother always told me i was a lot like my grandmother. i don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing or if i'm just romanticizing that statement. nonetheless, i relate in my mind to her. just as i relate in my mind to lennon.

here's where the veil wears thin and life becomes auspicious. i have always thought in a way where the material world and the "other" world overlap and the possibility of combining the two depends solely on awareness. when i see the clock at 9:18 it is my will the finds the exact point in the cycle to bring about awareness for whatever reason. there is something at that point i need to remember. lennon music is the same way. i used to think he personally was trying to communicate with me a certain times, but now i have more the idea that i willed that connection into existence so that i can meditate on whatever is troubling me at that time. the veil hangs thin. perhaps it truly is madness on the other side, but i'm not afraid anymore. not so much.

my grandmother has been dead for years. i don't remember the day or year she died, but i remember the circumstance. it's all stored in my head. maybe i'll write it here one day.
i don't miss the alzheimer's patient. i do wish i had to know the lady better though.

here and there

the veil hangs
here and there

here is safe
here is secure
here i walk with you
here i talk with you
here is life

i shouldn't want
to go

there is where
a girl becomes
more than just
a girl

there lies madness
here lies youth
there the spirits dare
to tread
there i'm talking to
the dead

here i'm trying to maintain
the flurries in my head
in my brain
there is when
there is when
i give in
i give in

to all the forces
that persuade me
i let go of norms
that hold me

my life comes

here is now
here is now
and nothing more
nothing more
nothing more than
the lifeless forms
in front of me
void of all significance

the veil has vanished
i don't know if i'm become alive
or just realized i'm already dead
i'm out of my head

here is there
there is here
two planes in one world
they said it
couldn't be done

but who the fuck
are they?

there is here
here is there

nothing exists
nothing is waiting
for me

i am the catalyst
i am god of my existence

how many tuesdays? eack! it throws me off actually getting to sleep in. i walked a few miles yesterday. as soon as i got home (around 8) i went to bed. so much for getting stuff done.

life is like a big big rail
you grind it till the grindings stale
live is impervious, impermanent, and  pale
good to know you can't ever fail

why doth though
who art willing and able
think that i
i am not capable
of having thoughts of you

am i
am i so hallow
am i so shallow
am i so dull
that i am not worthy
to entertain
such scandalous notions
of you?

why doth thou
who art blind and sedate
think that i
i am much lesser than you

two halves
not thinking as one
you hold me up
you pull me through
you're in my genes
you're in my soul
you're all i got when times get low

why doth thou
not see
what you mean
to me
how lonesome i've become

when we two
don't think as one

i love my brain
i love the pain
you create for me

thou who art a sadomasochistic pile of
pile of
a pile of
love muffin

sometimes i hate you
sometimes i love you
sometimes i want to masturbate you

i find
it hard
to love myself
to thine own self be true
get your act together child
love muffin
how doth thou
not jerk off every day to

love muffin
love muffin

kurt vonnugut's peepholes closed for the last time on april 11, 2007
he kicked the bucket down the steps
i wonder if it sounded like the magic flute
he was 84 years old
the same age kilgore trout was when he passed away in '01
he's up in heaven now

sorry if i've been odd
i've been watching the trees
bend and nod

the soap in my head
won't ever end
i think you've heard that said

you didn't quite hear
i can tell
you keep trying to give me your beer

so i'll be here on the trail
watch the moon and
hope the fuzz doesn't take me to jail
