Care2 has provided us with some great upgrades, but some of them can be confusing, so here's a little tutorial about how to use some of them.

Group Email (for group Hosts)

1.  Make sure your Host Announcements link is enabled.  If it isn't go into your Group Management Console, scroll down to the bottom, and click on Home Page Modules.  Check the box there that says "Host Announcements" and then click the Submit button.  Return to the group home page.

2.  To send a group email, click on the link that says "Create New Announcement."  You'll get a reply window that looks just like the window you get when you're replying to posts.  Type your message, and submit it.  Members who have chosen to receive Host announcements will receive your message in their email.

Non-Care2 Members Email Forum

1.  In your Group Management Console, go to your Discussion Forum settings. You'll see "Email Forum Settings" right at the top of the page.

2.  Choose your settings, and then click the Submit button.

Editing Automated Email Messages

1.  Go to your Group Management Console and click on "General Settings."  Click on "Edit Automated Mail Messages."

2.  Type the message you want to appear when members join or leave your group, and when they're accepted or rejected into your group (if you have a closed group, this option is great).

3.  When you've finished, click the Submit button.

Managing Mail Headers and Footers

1.  Go to your Group Management Console and scroll to the bottom to find the section "Manage Mail Headers/Footers."

2.  In your Header (the top of the message, which is what people will see when you email them from the Host Announcements), you can put in an image (if you know HTML), text, or both.

3.  In your Footer (the bottom of the message, which is like your signature), you can place links to other groups, or whatever you want.

4.  When you're finished, hit Preview to make sure the Headers and Footers are what you want them to look like.  If you're happy with what you see, click Save.  If not, make whatever changes you want to make, making sure to Preview your work before saving, then hit Save.

Hope this helps!
