The last updated Most Wanted List was posted May 5/07. It seems like it's time to provide another update, just so that Care2 doesn't think we've forgotten what we're asking for.
Care2, for some time, now, members have been asking for:
(1) the Support and engineering teams to fix existing bugs and glitches, such as:
There are more bugs and glitches that have been ongoing for several months - and for some members, more than a year.
(2) option to customize the My Connect page (choose themes - like we can do with our groups, profile pages, and blogs - and select which modules to display)
(3) the option to send e-cards, messages, and green stars directly from the "My Friends" list.
(4) choices to check off when sending green stars, so the recipient knows why they're getting the star. (e.g. "Thinking of you," "Great post in _____ group," "Thanks for the star," etc.)
(5) an optional questionaire that can be filled out when people leave a group, for the purpose of providing feedback to the Group Hosts, so that they (Group Hosts) can gauge how well their group is working for their members.
(6) a "BCC" option in personal messaging (for privacy, and to help reduce and prevent spam)
(7) a direct e-card link to profiles
(8) the option to send more than one green star per week
(9) the option to send green stars to all friends at once, without having to click on each profile
(10) the ability to email friends directly from the Address Book in our email.
(11) groups which members host and/or co-host to be separated from the groups they don't host/co-host. (perhaps splitting the My Groups page would help?)
The Care2 Support and Engineering teams have been working very hard to resolve existing glitches and bugs. Some of these glitches have been resolved, but there are still some bugs being worked out, so please try to be patient while the engineers continue working to get everything up and running properly.
Should you find that features and tools aren't working, please fill out a Help Form and describe the problem in detail so the engineers can investigate. Make sure you include what you've done to correct things, too.
Thanks for taking the time to note this Most Wanted list, Care2, and thanks for working so hard to make things work properly for all of us.
This is the first Members "Most Wanted" List of 2007. Below are the tools and features the community is requesting.
Members would really like:
(1) Customization of the My Connect page (to be able to use themes, like we can do with our groups, profile pages, and blogs)
(2) Options to delete or edit our own posts in groups (this has been a long-time request from members)
(3) Group owners to have the ability to delete or transfer their groups, themselves (* Hosts may now transfer groups themselves; ability to delete still requested)
(4) An option to hide groups that are sensitive from their profile. (Perhaps a button that says "Show" and "Hide" on our profile page?)
(5) To have the option to send e-cards, messages, and green stars directly from the "My Friends" list. (6) To have a few choices to check off when we send someone a green star, so the recipient knows why they're getting the star. (e.g. "Thinking of you," "Great post in _____ group," "Thanks for the star," etc.)
(7) To change the default font size from 2(10pt) to 3(12pt). This has been a long-time request from Care2 members, as there are many with impaired vision who have a great deal of trouble reading small fonts.
(8) For the BETA areas on Friends lists and Group Members lists to be completed.
(9) An optional questionaire that can be filled out when people leave a group, for the purpose of providing feedback to the Group Hosts, so that they (Group Hosts) can gauge how well their group is working for their members.
(10) Provide "BCC" option in personal messaging
(11) E-card link to profiles
(12) Time & date-stamping of personal messages
(13) Allow for more than one green star per week
(14) The ability to send green stars to all friends at once, without having to click on each profile
(15) Ability to use address book in email to send a message simply by clicking on a person's name
Thanks so much for all the new features and for everything you're doing for us, Care2. It's all very much appreciated!

Thanks for all that you've done for us, and all that you're doing for us, Care2.
The Support and engineering teams are always hard at work implementing and testing coding for new features, upgrades, and fixes and patches for glitches and bugs.
While they're working on all these things, they're also looking at ways to improve things on the site by rebuilding existing features to include more options, and by looking at possible additions to many of the features we currently enjoy.
Below is a short list of things that are on the drawing table for us, courtesy of the Support and engineering teams:
(1) Changes to the "Daily Clicks to Donate" tab, including a Members' Suggestion Box for suggested organizations to feature
Just a reminder to everyone: When starting feedback or suggestion threads in Care2 Feedback and Suggestions, please be clear in the title, so that Care2 Support knows what's what. It really does help them out when they have a clear idea of what the thread is about.
Most people know that my commitment to Care2 is firm and strong. Very often, I will jump in to defend them when members of the community are jumping all over them for this or that, and this is not something that's going to change.
Care2 Connect has quite literally saved my life, and that alone makes me feel grateful to have a place like this to come to. The fact that the team has consistently strived to accommodate the requests of this community to make improvements - and that they have often ended up being vilified for it - never ceases to amaze me. We have so much - all of it, FREE - and yet, for some reason, many still find something to complain about. I can't help but wonder if those who consistently complain are ever actually happy with anything at all.
But, I digress. Recently, there have been a spate of deletions of posts and threads in some groups, and the first ones to take the heat for that are Care2. In some situations, perhaps, Care2 is responsible for those deletions; in other situations, the deletions are the responsibility of the group Host(s), but for reasons only they can know, they don't want to admit to those deletions. Instead, they simply blame Care2 staff, which gets many people all riled up and ready to lynch the Support staff - without first making an effort to actually talk with Care2 about the problem. I find this to be extremely unfair.
Care2 gives us an incredible site to work and play on, at no cost to us. Admittedly, there are some things which are problematic, and we need to let the Support team know about those things. But, in my opinion, there's a huge difference between saying, "I don't like this feature because..." or "I don't agree with this decision..." and "Care2 did this..." or "Care2 did that..." We don't like it when others arbitrarily accuse us of doing (or not doing) things; what makes it okay for us to arbitrarily accuse Care2 of doing (or not doing) things?
Many people are unhappy with a lot of the changes that have been brought in over the past couple of weeks. I understand that, and I hope that the Support team and the engineers can get all of these things resolved to everyone's satisfaction. But getting hostile and abusive with them is unnecessary and uncalled-for. This is their home; we are but guests here. Yes, we make this site what it is. But think about the full impact of that before getting hostile: WE MAKE THIS SITE.... Do you even realize that this statement means we make this place either fun or unhappy with the way we respond to Care2 when changes and upgrades and glitches and bugs are brought forward?
Before you get snarky with the Care2 Support team, please stop and think about the whole picture, and not just about what you're experiencing.
Try actually talking with the Support staff instead of just accusing them of this or that.
Give them a break, people - they've given us a tremendous amount of free things so that we can all enjoy our experiences here on this site. Try cutting the Support team some slack, for a change, instead of riding their asses all the time. You'll find that you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.
Have a great day, everyone, and thanks for everything you've done and are doing for us, Care2. It's greatly appreciated.
This is the Members' 'Most Wanted' List, with a couple of new additions. These requests have been longstanding for more than a year, now, and it is hoped that when the new features Care2 has planned are released, some of these requests will be included in the release.
Members "Most Wanted" List is as follows:
(1) Customization of the My Connect page (to be able to use themes, like we can do with our groups, profile pages, and blogs)
(2) Options to delete or edit their own posts in groups (this has been a long-time request from members)

(4) An option to hide groups that are sensitive from their profile. (Perhaps a button that says "Show" and "Hide" on our profile page?)
(5) Group owners and/or Co-Hosts to have the option to email or netmessage group members only. This option would make it much easier for owners and Co-Hosts of large groups to stay in touch with their members, rather than having to discuss group business with the entire network. (6) To have the option to send e-cards, messages, and green stars directly from the "My Friends" list.
(7) Group Hosts to be able to include a reason for deleting a post, so the poster knows why their post was deleted.

(10) For the BETA areas on Friends lists and Group Members lists to be completed. (* FORMAT HAS BEEN CHANGED)
