We meet some extraordinary people in life. These people inspire us with their personal greatness, they teach us lessons about ourselves that change us on a fundamental level, and they leave an imprint on our lives that lasts the rest of our lives. And when they leave this life, we remember them for the things that were important to us. We never stop to think, though, that we may have been extraordinary in their eyes.

A very dear friend sent me the link below. Please take a look at it. You won't be sorry.

And whatever you do, do make sure you cross-post this important message.

When you send a message or write up a blog entry, it appears on your Sharebook. Now, let's say you want to delete that. How do you go about doing that? Simple!

Go to "My Sharebook," find the blog entry or netmessage you want to delete, and then go to the Comments link.

Click on the Comments, and at the top right of your screen, on the message or blog entry, you should see two options: "Edit" and "Delete." Simply click the Delete button, and voila! That "share" will be deleted!

You'll get a dialogue box warning you that your share will be permanently deleted, and asking you if you're sure you want to do it. If you're sure about the deletion, just click "OK."

NOTE: Each time you delete a share in your Sharebook, you're taken back to the My Sharebook page, where all of your existing shares are. How great is that, eh?

So, you're really excited about your new Care2 blog, and you'd really like to share it with people outside of the Care2 Connect network. No problem!

Just go to your Profile page, look at the upper right hand portion of the page, and you'll see a little box that tells you to activate your Simple URL. If you check that box, the URL will be activated, and you can send it to anyone you want.

So, what you should see, should be something like this:

The URL will activate, giving you an underlined link. Just copy it, add /blog after your name, and paste the whole URL into your netmessage, email, or whatever you want to use to send it to people. Easy, huh?

You've received a message that someone has sent you a green star, but you deleted the message before you could send them one in return. What do you do? Well, that's easy:

Go to your profile page, and look at the right sidebar. You'll see a link there, on the left, that tells you how many green stars you have. Just click on "green stars" and voila! You're at your Kudos page.
From there, you can go ahead and do your stuff, just like you always did.

Learning as we go, here....

Okay, so you want to put an image on your Blog, you've checked the Help files, but you either can't find the info, or - if you had the same problem I did - you found that the Help info is kind of vague about this.  Well, here's how you do it:

Go to your My Sharebook Settings, where your Sharebook is.   Make sure you already have the URL of the image you want to use, because the Insert Image editor doesn't give you the option to browse.

Paste the URL of the image into the box that says URL, in the Image editor (FYI: The Image Editor is that cute little box immediately left of the big smiley face).

Now, once you've inserted that URL, make sure you click on the submit button, otherwise, your hard work will be for nothing.

After you've inserted the image - which will show up in the window of your Sharebook - click on the HTML editor, and add a couple of line breaks, so that you can type some kind of description underneath the picture. If you don't do that, you won't be able to write anything in.   At least, that's what I discovered. Even if you resize the image, you still don't have enough room to make a space so you can type anything.

When you're finished, make sure you scroll to the bottom of the page and save everything.

That's it, folks.  It's really a lot easier than it sounds.

Now, off with ye!  Go have fun with your new Care2 blog!

Wow. So, here it is, the new and improved Care2. I didn't recognize the place when I logged on!

It's gonna be interesting, moving around this new land, I think. Blogs, polls, photo sharing, easy-to-access netmessages, all-in-one features... Looks great, Care2.

I also appreciate the privacy options for blogs. Great idea.

(1) Can this new system handle existing member traffic, as well as accommodate significant growth?

(2) Smileys must be inserted using HTML code, instead of placing the keyword between the asterisks, in order for the emoticons to show. Is there an easier way to insert the smileys and emoticons? Not everyone knows HTML code...
