Care2 strives to provide you with a rich variety of newsletters, calls to action, discussions, and other features over email. But, as many of you have pointed out, these messages don't always make it to your inboxes. So, we're launching a drive to clean up our database and make sure we deliver everything you ask for - and we need your help!
What's to be expected?
If our system has detected that emails to your account are bouncing, we'll let you know with a prompt to update your address. You may update it right away and you will not be prompted again unless your emails are bouncing at the new address. If it's a bad time, you have the option to select 'No Thanks' and you will not be prompted again for 24 hours.
If you are signing a petition and your signature information does not match what is in your account you will be given an opportunity to update your profile information to match your signature with a single click.
Henceforth, to keep your information up-to-date, we will be providing you with a bi-annual reminder o update your information. Changing your email address or selecting 'No Thanks' will silence the reminder for another six months.
Being prompted may be an indication that you have requested to receive mailings from us. If you wish to review your notification settings, we recommend that you check them here . You might also like to update your newsletter settings at this time too here.
If you haven't noticed it, yet, there's a new addition to some of your groups: Privacy Alert. I saw this alert while I was posting a message in a group, and I though, "Wow! This is great!"
The next time you're posting a message in a group, this is what you might see at the bottom of the reply window:

No, this is not a trick., nor is it a glitch or a bug. This is something that was brought in within the past eight hours, to remind us that what we post is our choice, and that Care2 is not responsible for our choices. This means that if you're posting personal information, and if something happens to you as a result of that, it is not Care2's fault. Care2 has often advised us against sharing personal information like that listed in the Privacy Alert, and it is just good, old-fashioned horse sense that we don't share personal information with people unless we absolutely trust them.

Care2 S. Site Outage - 04-26-06 Wednesday, 11:40 PM
We apologize for the site outage which occurred today, April 26th. We had a hardware failure which took down the live portion of our site. This outage was completely unrelated to our recent upgrades and did not affect our databases at all. No member data was lost during the outage. It only affected the availability of the web pages while our engineers worked hard to restore web services.
We already have additional hardware being shipped in order to prevent this type of problem in the future. When this arrives there will be a brief controlled site outage while we install the new hardware. We will notify you in advance of this outage.
