...and soon the whole world is blind".

If someone wrongs you, with malice or without realising, just once or repeatedly,  in public or in private, how should you respond?

Is it fair to retaliate?

If you perceive the perpetrator to be superior to you in strategic warfare (economically, intelectually or emotionally), maybe even enjoy power play, is it wise to try?

Is it worth it?

If, in fact, you are not agressive / reactive (by nature or by choice), or do not crave the spoils of victory, what do you do?

And if you don't do, regardless of "comparative power" or nature, will you be labelled a coward?

Swallow the injury, heal thewounds and move on, you say?

What is "moving on", anyway?

The red rose whispers of passion, And the white rose breathes of love; O, the red rose is a falcon, And the white rose is a dove."
John Boyle O’Reilly

So, when asked: red or white, I reply: Both, please

a-ha: A Norwegian Band from my Youth

I Wish I Cared (Lyrics)

To hold me closer or set me free
To trust completely or let it be
You don't know my destiny
You can't see what I can see

Hey - I wish I cared
Hey - I wish I cared

To love me truly or let me go
In between I don't want to know
This is how it has to be
No more us and no more we

Hey - I wish I cared
Hey - I wish I cared

Once again, on the station
See your face in a crowd
Comes again the sensation
You can't hear yourself think
With their voices inside your head

“For what do we live, but to make sport for our neighbours, and laugh at them in our turn?

Jane Austen [a very insightful person ]

An example
The original song:

The Parody:

But a joke, when it crosses the fine line between "having fun" and "making fun of" can cause a real drama

Take care

WALK ALONE

If they answer not to thy call walk alone,
If they are afraid and cower mutely facing the wall,
O thou of evil luck,
open thy mind and speak out alone.

If they turn away, and desert you when crossing the wilderness,
O thou of evil luck,
trample the thorns under thy tread,
and along the blood-lined track travel alone.

If they do not hold up the light when the night is troubled with storm,
O thou of evil luck,
with the thunder flame of pain ignite thy own heart
and let it burn alone.

RABINDRANATH TAGORE

And you, do you  [want   (me)   to]  walk...alone?!
