To all of you who sent me prayers, good wishes and positive thoughts, the inevitable came this morning.

My Mum passed away at 9:40 this morning while my Dad was with her holding her hand.

The nurses had been expecting it which was why Dad was in earlier than usual. Had he visited at the normal hospital regulartory hours 1:30PM, she would have gone alone.

I am OK at the moment and see her passing as a relief from her pain and suffering and feel sure she has been met by loved ones long since passed [and a silly dog, our beloved Tess, to boot, who Mum loved so much].

I thank you all who cared enough to send me all you did and regard you all as very good friends who care so much for others but the praying etc., will go on to help Mum in her transition from this life to the next where her god will now keep her safe.

A person can only ever have one mother, cherish and treasure that jewel like no other, it is your one chance. Tell them today you love them, you care about them because tomorrow you may not have the chance. And never place any blame for whatever misgivings you may have had in your lives, today you navigate and pilot your own destiny, your mother did what seemed right at the time when you were a child. She gave you the life you have to do with what you will...

I feel some solace in the fact that Mum is no longer suffering. She knew this was inevitable and, looking back in hindsight, she had been trying to prepare us for this day, tho' we denied it we have to accept that, once more, she was caring more for us than herself.

I had not visited for a few days, nor had my siblings, we have that regret but Mum told my Dad she understood. I had no car as mine was in the shop being repaired. I planned to visit today but recall the last visit when she actually bade me goodbye [could she have known?] and hugged me. That had not happened in a long while. I will miss her but, as I already said, I have some comfort that the pain she has endured for these past five years is now at an end. This is what she wanted, I feel personally, her life had been so debilitated by the parkinsons, she didn't want to suffer the indignity it brought with it.

I don't think it has really sunk in yet but I have spent most of the day with my Dad so had to be strong for him. My sister is with him now and is staying for a few days. We have to see the registrar tomorrow and make arrangements etc., none of us really have a clue what to do, but I'm sure we will get there. The local vicar visited Dad this afternoon, she is quite a nice person and easy for him to talk to.

Thanks again to you all who have been there for me throughout this sad time and for all your prayers, thoughts and cards.

blessings to you all
Ron
