Feel Free To Repost Her. This one has really gotten under my skin.
I posted about Shelby a week or so ago. She has been in the shelter long enough that her surgery scars are now healed. She desperately deserves a chance.
She is the next one to get put down.
Jay and I would get her. But we just don't have room. I will do what ever you need to help. Just save this baby girl.
Update 1/4/08, Shelby has been at the shelter since 11/8. Her neck has healed, she has put on weight and now she is a beautiful compact dog. She is very energetic and loves to play. Shelby is too much for young children, but would be a great companion for someone on the go. Shelby was found as a stray with an in-grown chain in her neck. The chain has been removed and her neck is healing, but the shelter is not a place for her to be recovering. This little girl is very sweet and very friendly and loves any attention she gets. She will sit for treats, but can be stubborn at times. She is very small, weighing probably only 35-40 lbs. PLEASE REFER TO LOG # 640 WHEN INQUIRING ABOUT SHELBY. For more current information on the availability of an animal, please call Animal Control (401) 243-6040 between 11 - 3. Please refer to animals by their log number rather than their name. You must go to the shelter to arrange an adoption in person. No adoptions can be arranged over the phone or by Internet.
If you cannot adopt Shelby, then please take a few moments to help save her life & get her into the arms of someone that can adopt her. Here is how:
PLEASE REPOST THIS, CROSS POST THIS, NOTE THIS, FORWARD THIS, AND HELP CIRCULATE THIS AROUND THE WEB AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE & ASAP!
THIS DOG'S TIME HAS ALMOST RUN OUT -- SHE IS THE NEXT ON THE LIST TO BE PUT DOWN!!!!!! SHE HAS COME THIS FAR, LET'S NOT LET HER DOWN NOW!! I KNOW THAT WE ON CARE2.COM & MYSPACE.COM, TOGETHER CAN SAVE THIS BABY. I HAVE SEEN US DO IT BEFORE (when we saved Sabu--click here to see Sabu's story) AND I KNOW THAT WE CAN DO IT AGAIN!!! I JUST HOPE THAT WE CAN DO IT SOON ENOUGH TO SAVE THIS SWEET LITTLE DOG...
There must be a foster or a rescue that can step up & take her in until her "fur-ever" owner can be found. If you can adopt, foster, or rescue this dog but you don't live near Rhode Island, please let me know & hopefully I can help arrange transportation & funding to get her to you. Please let me know at any of the following:
