Mom, sometimes I find myself calling your name, even though I know you're not there.  There are so many questions I need to ask you.  I miss your touch, your smile, your cooking(smile).

My mom, she was a diabetic.  She did everything the doctors advised her to do.  She ate right, excersized, lost weight, took her meds and still, this disease took her in the end.

I will continue to support the Diabetes Foundation in the name of my mother.

I would not wish for any family to have to endure all that we did with my mother's illness.  The insulin shots, all the pills, the loss of her leg.

Someday, we will find a way to make diabetes go away forever.  Until then, I fight!!!

My mom, special in every way.

I love you mom, now and forever.

Your loving daughter

"Men, for years now, have been talking about war and peace. But now, no longer can they just talk about it. It is no longer a choice between violence and nonviolence in this world; it's nonviolence or nonexistence." - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
