u may have heard of dynasty this or dynasty that in ancient egyptian history, but have u ever wondered about ancient egyptian history before the first dynasty? DYNASTY 0 AND DYNASTY 00 AND EVEN DYNASTY 000!
implication to nations such as the United States of America and the European Union?
if this part of the african continent didnt exist at first and it formed as the sediments of the nile settled down where the nile met the sea (check out skeletons of rare whales found in egyptian desert http://www.care2.com/c2c/groups/disc.html?gpp=3613&pst=92083&archival= also check out satelite images of ancient lakes in the sahara http://www.ufoarea.com/aas_ancientlakes.html ), it lends to the theory that egyptians were a ppl who migrated from surrounding regions. so ancient egyptians may really have been a cross between negroid, brown mediterranean race and white race from asia. but egyptians are of all colors now, and as suggested, egyptians today may really be mulatto.. how did that happen?
the sediments of the nile that formed this land is very fertile soil. the whole of egypt was lush greenery (evident by the amount of coal and natural gas under egyptian soil). ppl lived throughout egypt enjoying the wealth of the land. as weather changes started drying the region, the nile water started to decrease, the marshes and jungles and agricultural land started to recede towards the nile. over centuries ppl started moving closer and closer to where the nile still runs today so that they stay close to the greenery, their livelihood.
by the time the nile receded to where it is now, the millions of (ethnically) different ppl who lived over the great expanse of egypt found themselves forced to live in a very small area along the banks of the much much reduced nile. yes evidence from ancient egyptian documentation shows that egyptians were in their millions thousands of years ago!
remember this happened very gradually so there was a lot of time for the different ppls to get to know each other and subconsciously reach the ideology that getting along and working together is the only way for survival.
still the different villages and towns were still pretty much secluded from each other with little interact. as these villages and towns got larger, the distances between them became smaller and trading and immigration between them became more common. the concept of borders went completely against the common good of all.. then BANG! EUREKA! King Mina comes and decides to unify all the towns and villages along the nile down to the cataracts of luxor and aswan! and the nation of Egypt was formed! the first ever peaceful beneficial unification process was conceived! and the first dynasty began! a nation conceived from the need to be organized so as to all live in peace and prosperity!
but how would u unify ppl of different regions, ethnic origin, faith, color, culture??? SIMPLE!!! promote the similarities rather than the differences! increase awareness and interaction! promote a common cause that benefits everyone! give ppl one common demoninator! they were all dependent on the nile! God had given them a precious gift, the Nile, the source of all life in the region! and egypt was formed and all the different ppls became egyptian!
the only thing that had to take time to reconcile was faith..each village or town had it's own image of God. one village would have a ppl who treasured fertility so God was a fertility God. another village valued agriculture so God was the Provider, etc. remember the idea of ancient egypt being polytheistic is being greatly contested in today's egyptological studies. nowadays more egyptologists are viewing the different gods of ancient egypt as just different images of one God. each ancient egyptian person worshipped one particular image of God at a time (depending on their need at the time), very much the way we look up to God for assistance today at our time of need, look up to God for victory at times of injuctice and suppression, etc..
King Mina's greatest feat was to merge all the different images of God into ONE! this was a slow process that continued for thousands of years till the time was right.. the advent of Jesus! then christianity spread throughout egypt at a pace not seen in any other part of the world! the Virgin Isis and baby Horus were easily accepted and adapted into the virgin Mary and baby Jesus (check it out http://www.care2.com/c2c/groups/disc.html?gpp=3613&pst=79093&archival= ). it fit too well! and egypt saw itselves as the cradle of civilization.. God's hands working for thousands and thousands of years in preparation for Jesus to show us the way.. as news of prophet mohamed reached egypt, coptic christians saw that Jesus had also paved the way to seeing the bigger picture that mohamed was preaching..
there's a lot the world can learn from ancient egyptian history till this day! peace, common good, one God, a world without borders, a world without prejudice, WE ARE ALL ONE.. perhaps the way forward?
with yet another wave of anti-islamic and anti arab sentiments flooding through care2, i hope u would consider finding out the truth from the horse's mouth.
u may think u know it all. u do but what u probably know all too well is the whole warped version that the media is dishing out. those who control the media control the world. muslims and arabs do not control the media..
i invite everyone to join this group about the truth about islam to judge for urself what islam is about and what it teaches. it is not anyone's intention to convert anyone in this group. it is a group of ppl learning about this very popular yet obscure faith.
hey everyone! Alicia, Joab and myself have been too busy to tend to the Cartoon Lovers group.. please if anyone is interested in helping out DONT HESITATE!!! we're looking for quite a number of cohosts, come on sign up here!
Most of America's populace think it improper to spank children, so I have tried other methods to control my kids when they have one of "those moments."
One that I found effective is for me to just take the child for a car ride and talk.
They usually calm down and stop misbehaving after our car ride together.
I've included a photo below of one of my sessions with my son, in case you would like to use the technique.
Islam lays great emphasis on animal rights and man's responsibility for their welfare. Below are a few short selections as examples from the Qur'an and Hadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad), edited by Dr. Yasin Dutton, lecturer in Islamic Studies, Edinburgh University. These and other selections are published in a leaflet which is produced by the WSPA in collaboration with the Islamic Foundation for Ecology and Environmental Sciences.
It is related from Abu Hurayra, from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that a prositute once saw a dog on a very hot day going round and round a well, lolling its tongue becaue of its thirst. She drew some water for it using her shoe and [for this action] all her sins were forgiven her. The Prophet was asked: 'Messenger of God, are we rewarded for kindness towards animals?' He said, 'There is a reward for kindness to every living being.'
It is related from Abdallah ibn Umar that the messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "A woman was once punished [after death] because of a cat she kept confined until it died and because of this she had entered the Fire. She had neither given it food or drink while confining it, nor had she left it free to eat the creatures of the earth."
It is related from Yahya ibn Sa'id that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was seen wiping the face of his horse with his shoulder cloth. When he was asked why he was doing that he said: "Last night I was reprimanded [by Allah] about horses."
It is related from Abu al-Darda' that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade eating mujathana animals; that is, animals which have been tied up and shot at with arrows.
It is related from Sahl ibn al-Handhaliyya that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, once passed by a camel [that was so emaciated that] its back had almost reached its stomach and he said: "Fear Allah in these beasts who cannot speak. [Only] ride them when they are in good health and [only] eat them when they are in good health."
It is related from Ibn Umar that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, cursed those who used anything living as a target.
Ibn Umar said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'Whoever mutilates a living creature and then does not repent, Allah will mutilate him on the Day of Judgement."
It is related from A'isha that she was once riding on a camel that was difficult to handle. She began pushing it and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to her, "You should be gentle [with it]."
"And the earth, He has assigned it to all living creatures." (Qu'ran, 55:10)
It is related from Abu Hurayra that the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "O Messenger of Allah! Is there reward for us in animals?" He said, "There is reward in every [creature with a] moist liver" (i.e. in acting kindly towards every living creature).
It is related from Shaddd ibn Aws that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Allah has prescribed excellence in everything. So if you kill, kill well; and if you slaughter, slaughter well. Let each one of you sharpen his blade and spare suffering to the animal he slaughters."
