HELP HELP HELP OR THEY'RE GONNA DIE 8:16 AM

the situation is past urgent at spalding. we've had two rescuers DELAY for unspecified amount of time on accepting the quarantined vetted animals that were specifically pulled for them --due to circumstances beyond these rescuers' control. We all know bad stuff happens in life and nobody is to blame for this setback however the lives of many of the current --and future cats and kittens at spalding animal control will end in the gas chamber.

We need help YOUR help contacting local rescues in your areas if they are along the NE corridor of regular transport routes--Washington DC, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Conn, Vermont and Penn--to see if any can fit in a fully vetted And QUARANTINED kitten or cat who will have been vet checked/spayed/neutered, combo tested and given all age appropriate vaccinations. transport can be arranged.

Another rescuer is also exploring possibility of Illinois and Minn areas for kittens but we need your assistance also.

due to family problem, I might have to be away again til the 10th and I need someone to please post as often as possible on www.craigslist.com ads for the current urgents. We are offering FREE spay and neuter vouchers to try to entice local adoptions to save the lives of these sweet friendly cats and kittens. 3 were adopted this week so 3 are now happily alive and well -and being loved in local homes.

You can see the current ad at

http://atlanta.craigslist.org/pet/778694423.html

feel free to add new photos and change wording. craigslist only allows same ad to be posted every 48 hours so new ads must be worked up to get the furry faces of these cats and kittens in the Georgia public's eyes DAILY.

We will continue to do what we can for the spalding animals --the August Catsnip clinic that we sponsor monthly into Spalding county is fully booked for all female spay slots with even a waiting list!! So please take heart that we all are making a difference in acting proactively and preventing more needless deaths of unwanted kitties. Your support for our vaccination programs means that pound's feline population has not experienced any outbreak of deadly disease like other georgia pounds have this hot summer.

I know it gets hard to look at their faces and know that we will lose some---however we have to be strong and to keep working at this rescuing --because we owe it also to the local volunteers who daily go into that pound -take photos-temperment test, talk to, pet and even HUG those precious furry souls and promise them we'll all do all that we can do to find them a happy ending. WE owe it to Michelle who responded "yes" to every time the pound called about an orphaned baby kitten who needed to be bottle fed and got up several times each night to take care of those helpless kittens. Michelle gives up one whole workday a week to volunteer a full day at our rescue spay/neuter clinic also! We owe it to Donna who even though she works on her feet all day -still walks into that pound to check out the new furbabies and gives them some love--and then goes home and cleans the litter boxes and feeds all the furbabies at her kittery and checks everyone's eyes and ears and noses. And then on Sunday drives an hour each direction to try adopting out those little furry creatures she cherishes. We owe it to Natasha who even though she knows not all of the furballs she personally meets at animal control are even going to make it out the front door of the pound alive --still she volunteers to go in as often as she can to photograph them all and help us make decisions on who we can possibly save. Oftentimes the pound staff can't photograph them all--right now if one looked at the county website you'd only see a couple of cats yet every single cage is filled with babies and moms and owner surrendered adults. We also cannot forget Christine who gives her time to vaccinate and transport animals to vets and also volunteers what precious free time she has to keep the Spalding County Animal Advisory Committee an active viable solution for the overwhelming population problem in that county.

WE can't do it without your support. Sometimes even the email and post of a sweet funny video can make a world of difference for someone.

I thank you all each and everyone who has given a piece of their heart to help save these babies so far away from home.

Please hug your own pets for me and know I wish I could hug you all also.

kindest regards

Barbara Lowe
