The Disabled veterans (and spouses ) of wars and conflicts past, present and the future. Are in my opinion are being left to mainly fend for themselves. If a veteran dies and is not 100 % disabled or dies of other complications. The spouse gets nothing, they really are the ones who provide 24 / 7/365 days of care for them. They are the nurse, doctor, aid, companion, and some times the clean up personnel. They are with them year after year to see they are being cared for, fed, clothed and getting where they need to go.

If the veterans dies they get nothing unless it is totally from a VA rated disability and even then it's very little. A lot of them have no income and at this stage are to OLD to get a job and too young for SSI. I feel they should get something in return for all the time they spend taking care of the veteran. They never complain of being the care giver and support for them. It's just a commitment they have to them. It's this the way they should be repaid after loosing their spouse, like being shoved under a rug and forgoten.

For the Veterans are the one who gave us the freedom we have and enjoyed today. The spouses are like veterans too and deserve a payment for their dedications to them.
