I made these cookies after reading the Care2 article on ginger and...they're amazing. Here's the recipe, and after that, information on why these cookies should be prescribed to just about everybody:

Heavenly Ginger Cookies

3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup raw sugar
1/2 cup blackstrap molasses
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup water
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 tsp. ground ginger
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp. sea salt
raw sugar for rolling them in

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar together mixer until creamed together.
3. Add the molasses and mix well.
4. Mix the water with the baking soda, then add that and mix well.
5. Sift (or mix together with a whisk really well) the flour, salt, and spices.
6. Add dry ingredients to wet, and mix well.
7. Shape dough into walnut-sized balls (roll between palms of your hands) and then roll in raw sugar (in a bowl). If they're too sticky to handle, add a little flour.
8. Place on cookie sheet covered with a piece of parchment paper (makes for SUPER EASY cleanup, which we all love!) about 2 inches apart. If you want thin and crispy cookies (snaps) flatten slightly, otherwise leave in balls to make small, fat, soft cookies.
9. Bake for about 10 - 12 minutes.

Makes a little over 4 dozen cookies!

Health Benefits

Historically, ginger has a long tradition of being very effective in alleviating symptoms of gastrointestinal distress. In herbal medicine, ginger is regarded as an excellent carminative (a substance which promotes the elimination of intestinal gas) and intestinal spasmolytic (a substance which relaxes and soothes the intestinal tract). Modern scientific research has revealed that ginger possesses numerous therapeutic properties including antioxidant effects, an ability to inhibit the formation of inflammatory compounds, and direct anti-inflammatory effects.

Gastrointestinal Relief

In one study, ginger was shown to be far superior to Dramamine, a commonly used over-the-counter and prescription drug for motion sickness. Ginger reduces all symptoms associated with motion sickness including dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and cold sweating.

Safe and Effective Relief of Nausea and Vomiting During Pregnancy

Ginger's anti-vomiting action has been shown to be very useful in reducing the nausea and vomiting of pregnancy, even the most severe form, hyperemesis gravidum, a condition which usually requires hospitalization.

Anti-Inflammatory Effects

Ginger contains very potent anti-inflammatory compounds called gingerols. These substances are believed to explain why so many people with osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis experience reductions in their pain levels and improvements in their mobility when they consume ginger regularly. In two clinical studies involving patients who responded to conventional drugs and those who didn't, physicians found that 75% of arthritis patients and 100% of patients with muscular discomfort experienced relief of pain and/or swelling.

Protection against Colorectal Cancer

Gingerols, the main active components in ginger and the ones responsible for its distinctive flavor, may also inhibit the growth of human colorectal cancer cells, suggests research presented at the Frontiers in Cancer Prevention Research, a major meeting of cancer experts that took place in Phoenix, AZ, October 26-30, 2003.

"These results strongly suggest that ginger compounds may be effective chemopreventive and/or chemotherapeutic agents for colorectal carcinomas."

Ginger Induces Cell Death in Ovarian Cancer Cells

Lab experiments presented at the 97th Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer, by Dr Rebecca Lui and her colleagues from the University of Michigan, showed that gingerols, the active phytonutrients in ginger, kill ovarian cancer cells by inducing apoptosis (programmed cell death) and autophagocytosis (self-digestion) .

Ginger extracts have been shown to have both antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor effects on cells. Exposure to the ginger extract caused cell death in all the ovarian cancer lines studied.

Immune Boosting Action

Ginger can not only be warming on a cold day, but can help promote healthy sweating, which is often helpful during colds and flus. A good sweat may do a lot more than simply assist detoxification. German researchers have recently found that sweat contains a potent germ-fighting agent that may help fight off infections.

Ginger is so concentrated with active substances, you don't have to use very much to receive its beneficial effects. For nausea, ginger tea made by steeping one or two 1/2-inch slices (one 1/2-inch slice equals 2/3 of an ounce) of fresh ginger in a cup of hot water will likely be all you need to settle your stomach. For arthritis, some people have found relief consuming as little as a 1/4-inch slice of fresh ginger cooked in food, although in the studies noted above, patients who consumed more ginger reported quicker and better relief.


Health Benefits

Clove contains significant amounts of an active component called eugenol, which has made it the subject of numerous health studies, including studies on the prevention of toxicity from environmental pollutants like carbon tetrachloride, digestive tract cancers, and joint inflammation. In the United States, eugenol extracts from clove have often been used in dentistry in conjunction with root canal therapy, temporary fillings, and general gum pain, since eugenol and other components of clove (including beta-caryophyllene) combine to make clove a mild anaesthetic as well as an anti-bacterial agent. For these beneficial effects, you'll also find clove oil in some over-the-counter sore throat sprays and mouth washes.

Anti-Inflammatory Activity
Eugenol, the primary component of clove's volatile oils, functions as an anti-inflammatory substance. Clove also contains a variety of flavonoids, including kaempferol and rhamnetin, which also contribute to clove's anti-inflammatory (and antioxidant) properties.

A Nutrient-Dense Spice

Using our nutrient ranking system, we determined cloves to be an excellent source of manganese, a very good source of dietary fiber, vitamin C and omega-3 fatty acids and a good source of calcium and magnesium.


Health Benefits

Cinnamon's unique healing abilities come from three basic types of components in the essential oils found in its bark. These oils contain active components called cinnamaldehyde, cinnamyl acetate, and cinnamyl alcohol, plus a wide range of other volatile substances.

Anti-Clotting Actions

Cinnamaldehyde (also called cinnamic aldehyde) has been well-researched for its effects on blood platelets. Platelets are constituents of blood that are meant to clump together under emergency circumstances (like physical injury) as a way to stop bleeding, but under normal circumstances, they can make blood flow inadequate if they clump together too much. The cinnaldehyde in cinnamon helps prevent unwanted clumping of blood platelets. Cinnamon's ability to lower the release of arachidonic acid from cell membranes also puts it in the category of an "anti-inflammatory" food that can be helpful in lessening inflammation.

Anti-Microbial Activity

Cinnamon's essential oils also qualify it as an "anti-microbial" food, and cinnamon has been studied for its ability to help stop the growth of bacteria as well as fungi, including the commonly problematic yeast Candida.

Blood Sugar Control

Seasoning a high carb food with cinnamon can help lessen its impact on your blood sugar levels. Cinnamon slows the rate at which the stomach empties after meals, reducing the rise in blood sugar after eating.

Cinnamon may also significantly help people with type 2 diabetes improve their ability to respond to insulin, thus normalizing their blood sugar levels. Less than half a teaspoon per day of cinnamon reduces blood sugar levels in persons with type 2 diabetes.

In humans with type 2 diabetes, consuming as little as 1 gram of cinnamon per day was found to reduce blood sugar, triglycerides, LDL (bad) cholesterol, and total cholesterol, in a study published in the December 2003 issue of Diabetes Care.

Cinnamon is so powerful an antioxidant that, when compared to six other antioxidant spices (anise, ginger, licorice, mint, nutmeg and vanilla) and the chemical food preservatives (BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole) , BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) , and propyl gallate), cinnamon prevented oxidation more effectively than all the other spices (except mint) and the chemical antioxidants.

Cinnamon's Scent Boosts Brain Function

Not only does consuming cinnamon improve the body's ability to utilize blood sugar, but just smelling the wonderful odor of this sweet spice boosts brain activity!

Research led by Dr. P. Zoladz and presented April 24, 2004, at the annual meeting of the Association for Chemoreception Sciences, in Sarasota, FL, found that chewing cinnamon flavored gum or just smelling cinnamon enhanced study participants' cognitive processing. Specifically, cinnamon improved participants' scores on tasks related to attentional processes, virtual recognition memory, working memory, and visual-motor speed while working on a computer-based program.

Calcium and Fiber Improve Colon Health and Protect Against Heart Disease

In addition to its unique essential oils, cinnamon is an excellent source of the trace mineral manganese and a very good source of dietary fiber, iron and calcium. For sufferers of irritable bowel syndrome, the fiber in cinnamon may also provide relief from constipation or diarrhea.

A Traditional Warming Remedy

In addition to the active components in its essential oils and its nutrient composition, cinnamon has also been valued in energy-based medical systems, such as Traditional Chinese Medicine, for its warming qualities. In these traditions, cinnamon has been used to provide relief when faced with the onset of a cold or flu, especially when mixed in a tea with some fresh ginger.

I began to struggle with depression twelve years ago after the birth of my first child. It was controlled through medication and counseling, and I never did get truly suicidal. Then a couple of years ago, I went down again. But this time, medication just made me sick, due to the fact that my energetic system is SO much more sensitive now, and the depression was FAR worse, to the point where I wanted to kill myself all day every day.

I have a degree in psychology, specializing in depression, two years' graduate training in counseling, and ten years of work experience in mental health, working with severely clinically depressed (often dual-diagnosis) patients. So I knew the psychological side of what was happening to me. That didn't help, though. I had also left all that to become a Reiki Master and intuitive counselor and so I researched and learned the spiritual side of what was happening to me. That didn't help enough either, to my great disappointment. (Hah! Disappointment?? I used to visualize ways to die all day long.)

It wasn't until I made the connection between what I was eating and my depression that I FOUND THE ANSWER. When I put into practice what I learned about how to heal myself with real food, I finally came out of the 2-year-long struggle with depression that nearly claimed my life over and over. Yes, the psychological/emotional side is important, and so is the spiritual, but you cannot get healing with those until you build the physical foundation. PERIOD.

This has had such an impact on me that I have gone back to school to get my M.S. in Holistic Nutrition to specialize in getting America off anti-depressants. And sure enough, what I'm learning is that Americans, specifically, eat what can hardly be called food, and it is killing us, to put it bluntly.

The one thing you must know, in order to climb out of a depression pit, is this:


The body cannot make seratonin without tryptophan, and tryptophan is in protein. You need about 20 grams per meal, and it is MOST crucial that you have that much for breakfast, since that is when most of the seratonin for your day is made.

Once you have addressed that FUNDAMENTAL issue, you also need to know:

PROCESSED CARBS and SUGAR will set you up for the fall.

Both cause drastic rises in blood sugar and then crashes, setting up a cycle of addiction and exhausting your nervous system, which leads to depression. And both deplete your body of minerals it needs in order to feel good. Also, both are completely deficient in the vitamins you get from their whole, natural replacements, and which are VITAL for nervous system functioning. It is NOT that difficult to replace the white flour and processed sugar in your foods with whole grain, and natural alternatives, and you will NOT feel deprived, trust me.

Another thing you NEED to know:


Our bodies, and our BRAINS *require* certain vitamins and minerals that are NO LONGER present in our food supply in adequate amounts to keep us well. If you are struggling with depression or any other health challenge, supplement your food with a good, bio-available source of vitamins and minerals. Powders, capsules, or liquids are best. Tablets mostly go undigested.

I know it's HARD to make yourself do ANYTHING good for yourself when you're depressed, but if you make it a point to start with just eating enough protein, you WILL feel better, and that will allow you to make other changes that have you feeling better and better and better.

The way I did this is with protein powder, which was all I could motivate myself to fix when I was in the deepest depression. Whey protein is good, as is hemp protein. I stay away from soy, for various reasons. You can also get rice protein. Try a few until you find one you like. THIS IS YOUR LIFE. You're worth it! Get one you like the taste of, and add then anything that will make you drink it, including sugar, ice cream, chocolate syrup...whatever.

*PROTEIN IS STEP ONE and is more important than anything else.*

Personally, I mixed chocolate Instant Breakfast (which is a weak vitamin and mineral supplement, by the way) with a sweetened vanilla protein powder from the health food store (you can get some that also include vitamins and minerals), put it in 2% milk, and sometimes blended in a few chunks of pre-frozen banana (because I don't like warmish smoothies, I like them cold and slushy.)

That got my protein levels up to where I was motivated enough to do other things to feel better, but when I skipped that step, the day was a total dark hole for me.

And even now, when I skip my morning protein, I feel awful all day long and it's HARD to come back, even with protein and vitamins later in the day.

So start with protein. Then add a good vitamin and mineral supplement. Then switch out your sugars and carbs. Then add in some Omega-3's for brain health. THEN address your depression emotionally and spiritually once you've taken care of that physical foundation.

Hey all,

Just thought I'd share something I just learned in my Holistic Nutrition studies. Taking a good calcium and magnesium supplement (either liquid or powdered for bio-availability) has been shown to curb chocolate and sugar cravings! This is because calcium is used to metabolize sugar, so when we consume sugar, we become calcium-depleted. Replacing that calcium we're missing gets rid of the 'sugar-crash' feeling that is, in part, due to the calcium depletion and that leads to sugar cravings!

Awesome stuff, huh?

FOR THE WOMEN: On a personal note, my Herbology studies have led me to design my own simple herbal recipe for menstrual difficulties. I call it Wild Woman Menstrual Remedy. It is designed to address cramps, excessive bleeding, mood swings, fatigue, and stomach and digestive problems related to the menstruation cycle, all of which I have suffered with for YEARS. Well, I brewed it up and used it myself this past week and WOW!!! I am just amazed at how awesomely it worked. I did not even NEED ibuprofen, which I usually take 3 of, every four hours, for at least three days during every cycle. I did not experience the mood swings, fatigue, or chocolate cravings, either, and my flow was dramatically reduced. I am SOLD.

2 parts wild yam root, dried
2 parts ginger root, dried
2 parts licorice root, dried

Make a standard decoction, then it can be taken every few hours, a couple of tablespoons at a time. These are all nice, safe herbs so take more if you need it.

I made it extra strong, and took 2 tablespoons diluted in a cup of room temperature pure water, a few times a day. I combined it with a powdered calcium supplement, 750mg per day, as the body's calcium levels start to drop 10 days before the first day of your period and bottom out on the first day, leading to many of the problems associated with the menstrual cycle. I used the Emergen-C Bone Health powder that dissolves in water, because it has no artificial color, flavor, or sweeteners. I took it three times a day, 250mg each time I took my Herbal Remedy. I also drank a couple of cups of milk each day. I cannot believe how much EASIER my period was. Next time, I'm going to make a sweet liquor tincture.

As a spiritual counselor, I have learned that Spirit does not motivate us through fear or guilt or obligation.  Spirit doesn't speak the language of 'should' and 'ought to'.  Spirit draws us toward what is best for us through an excited sense of curiosity, a strong and joyful desire that bubbles up from inside and feels wonderful.

So why should eating for our health be any different?  This question, and a passionate, all-consuming desire to know more, has led me to expand my life's work and set me on a path to learn the truth about food.  And what I have found so far is very encouraging and enlightening, and aligns perfectly with how Spirit operates in the other areas of our lives.

Heart Disease and Cholesterol:

In my research, I've found a huge, well-documented, rapidly growing body of evidence that the heart-disease scare is a manufactured lie.  I've found that being overweight doesn't lead to heart disease, and that eating cholesterol doesn't lead to high levels of cholesterol.  I've found that especially in post-menopausal women, higher levels of cholesterol are normal and even associated with better health than lower levels.  I've learned that cholesterol in the body is a by-product that is manufactured when the immune system faces a challenge (like the pus that is the result of white blood cells killing invading organisms), so its occurence has nothing to do with eating cholesterol, and the natural things we do, such as adding whole grains and plants to our diet, that lower our cholesterol levels, do so because they strengthen our immune system.

Fat and Overweight:

I've also found that the fear of fat is another fraud.  I've found more than ample evidence that being overweight doesn't lead to heart disease or breast cancer, and is not directly correlated to general unwellness of any kind, by itself.  And there is, of course, a staggering amount of ignored evidence that dieting doesn't solve the problem of being overweight, but makes it worse and may even be the root cause of it for many women.  I've found that natural fat, such as that found in animal and dairy products, and especially tropical fats, like coconut and palm oil, are not only much healthier for us than manufactured fats but actually contain absolutely essential health-promoting properties that we are missing out on as we seek to cut back on fat in our diets, and have been shown to heal many of our seemingly-overwhelming health challenges.  I have learned that natural fats contain compounds within them that help us process them and make the most of them, and that eating natural fat does not make you fat, but can actually help balance your weight.


I've learned that pasteurization kills a huge variety of health-giving properties of milk, and that when we treat our animals with kindness and respect, and feed them what they were born to eat, the raw, pure milk they produce doesn't require any of those medieval measures and is so full of nutrients, including compounds that help us process fat in a healthy way, that it's actually stunningly medicinal.


In my nutritional research, I've found ample evidence that artificial flavors, artificial colors, and especially artificial sweeteners, are all very toxic to our health.  I have learned that natural sugar, such as evaporated cane juice, maple syrup, and honey all have health-giving properties when consumed in moderation, unlike sucrose, or table sugar, which is stripped of anything that can be of any benefit to us and so acts on our bodies like a drug.  I have learned that the real, organic herbs and spices we used to flavor our food with all the time before the introduction of artifical flavors, can heal any disease or disorder humankind has ever known.  I have learned that many people are sodium-deficient, due to the heart-disease fraud, and that we can eat good, natural sea salt to taste and our bodies will thank us for it.  I've found that natural chocolate supports our health in a myriad of ways.

And all of this is just the beginning.

So what does all this mean?

Deep inside, our bodies know how to eat to sustain and promote total well-being.  And they crave those foods that will heal them.  But what we end up giving them instead in our ignorance are psuedo-foods made of chemicals that mimic the look and taste of the natural substances our bodies are crying out for, or plants sprayed with chemicals and grown in depleted soil, essentially starving and thus unable to sustain us the way they are Divinely meant to.  And the chemicals not only don't provide what they body craves, they introduce poisons into the system that the body then has to deal with on top of the original deficiency.

Toxicity and deficiency.  This is what is causing ALL of our health problems today.  And the answer is beautifully, Divinely simple.  Get rid of the psuedo-foods and go back to eating real, natural foods.  That's it, for the most part.  Just don't eat it if it's not food.

The glorious part of this is that indulgence is actually the path to health!

Let's look at a few examples of things we aren't 'supposed to' eat:

Imitation pancake syrup, with high fructose corn syrup and artificial colors and flavors, has NO nutritional value and introduces chemicals into the body which break it down.  Real maple syrup, on the other hand, is an excellent source of manganese and a good source of zinc, both of which have wonderful, health-giving properties, and due to the additional trace mineral content, the sugars in maple syrup enter the bloodstream more slowly, which is much easier on the body.

White table sugar has NO nutritional value and has been shown to contribute to a huge myriad of health problems.  But raw cane sugar is a good source of Vitamin B-2, as well as containing all kinds of trace minerals, and enters the bloodstream more slowly than table sugar, thus being much gentler on the body.

Another natural sweetener, raw honey, is incredibly good for you.  It must be raw, because just like with milk, pasteurization kills most of its health-giving properties.  Honey doesn't need pasteurization anyway, because it has strong natural antimicrobial properties of its own, and that is one of the things that makes it so good for us.  It's also a good source of Vitamins B-2, B-6, iron, and manganese, as well as a huge variety of trace minerals. 

Organic, cage-free eggs are a very good source of selenium, iodine, and vitamin B2 and a good source of protein, molybdenum, phosphorous, vitamin B5, vitamin B12 and vitamin D, and they're a great source of amino acids.  In fact, studies have shown that rather than raising levels of cholesterol, they lower lipid levels in the blood!

These are just a few of the miraculous truths I've uncovered about food, but they all point to the fact that there is only one indulgence we need to give up in order to have radiant health and well-being, and that's the convenience of prepared pseudo-food.  The other thing we need to give up is the belief in all the lies we've been told about what makes us sick.  It is those lies that have driven us to fill our pantries and refrigerators with chemical concoctions that we are promised will make us well again.

They won't.  Real, natural, delicious whole food WILL.

My quest to find the truth about food has led to me pursuing my Master's degree in Holistic Nutrition, and I will continue to unearth the amazing truth about how the bountiful gifts of the Earth can sustain our bodies.  And as I do, I will continue to share them with as many people as I can get to listen.  Because I believe in a world without disease, and I'm certain I've found the path to it in real, whole, natural food.

As I've shared with you before, part of my new direction for my right work is a growing passion and knowledge base in holistic living.  I am beginning work toward my M.S. in Holistic Nutrition next week, and I have created a new announcement-only list to share information on holistic living.

This newsletter exists as a way for me to share information on making the transition to a more holistic way of life, including making the shift to real, whole, organic food, medicinal plants, drug-free healing, natural personal care and cleaning products, natural fiber clothing, sustainable building materials, natural healing substances, objects, and techniques, and anything else that is involved in learning to live in harmony with Earth and our fellow human beings.

I am also creating a new website that will focus on those topics, as well as the expansion of my practice into Holistic Health Consultant.

NOW Is The Time

I was awakened at 5:30am on September 19, 2008 with another message from Spirit that I feel compelled to share with as many as feel drawn to listen.  As always, please use your own discernment and take only what serves.

We can no longer ignore the fact and the evidence that this world is in the midst of a huge transformational shift.  The world as we know it is ending.  And it must be allowed to do so, so that a new world, one based on the Highest Good of all and living in harmony with the planet, can be born. 

Everything that is built upon greed, and thus fear, must and will fall.  We cannot 'shore up' our failing economy, or our failing so-called 'healthcare' system, or our failing educational system, or our failing political system.  If we were allowed to do that, we would be preserving the very things that are destroying us.

We will watch the economy fail in totality.  We will watch the educational system close its doors.  We will watch the allopathic healthcare system crumble to the ground.  We will watch the corporations disappear, taking their readily available and toxic consumer goods with them.

It can be no other way.  The way we have been living is in direct contradiction to the pursuit of life, health, and happiness and must end.

Now is the time to prepare for the further challenges we will face as the old goes away *completely*.  It is time for anything that does not exist to serve the Highest Good to fail and be replaced by a new creation which does. 

We as a people are sick and dying.  Our planet herself is sick and dying.  And it is greed that has done this.  Every single disease and disorder we suffer with is the result of deficiency and toxicity brought about by greed.  The human body, and the planet Earth herself, are both immensely capable of total self-healing, provided they are given what they need in order to thrive.  So everything that exists in contradiction to that has had its day and must now leave to make room for the new, harmonious replacements.

Perhaps keeping in mind WHY it all has to go away will make the letting go process a little easier.

Why will the grocery store shelves no longer be stocked and bulging?  The so-called 'food' we eat is mostly chemicals altered to look and somewhat smell and taste like actual food, but it lacks the life-sustaining nutrients that actual food provides, and is replete with toxins that break down our bodies little by little, day by day.  Even the utensils we cook and eat with are poisonous to us, and sometimes we know this but we continue to use them because we think we cannot afford to do otherwise. 

Our stainless steel flatware has been found to be riddled with toxic heavy metals and radioactive waste, and we can all taste it, but we go on using it, go on eating our pseudo-food with it, because those who manufacture it exist to make money and they flood the marketplace with it and make no attempt to find healthy alternatives.  The teflon cookware that we use because have been wrongly advised that fat is the cause of all the world's ills leaches into our bodies with every use and makes us sicker and sicker.  The aluminum from our cheap pots and pans has been shown to be leaching neurotoxins into our bodies and brains, and yet we buy it because it's on sale and easy to come by. 

The cleaning products we use to 'sanitize' our spaces, and the personal care products we use to 'care' for our bodies, are actually poisoning our bodies, our minds, and our world, but the companies who make them are earning their money and so they continue to flood the market with them and to produce mind-manipulating advertising that tells us we need them.  The drugs we take to combat the illnesses we suffer from because of all these things make us even sicker, but we are constantly told there is no alternative, and so we swallow more poison, making the greedy pharmaceutical companies richer and richer, creating more and more false need for their 'help' as we just get sicker and sicker. 

The very polyester we wear lowers our vibration and leaches toxic chemicals little by little into our bodies and environment, leading to immune deficiencies and depression, but it's cheap, it's plentiful, and it doesn't wrinkle, and the companies who produce it care, first and foremost, about the bottom line so they don't provide alternatives.  And to cap it all off, the staggering array of convenience products, not to mention our fuel and utilities, are made from petroleum by-products that capitalize on the rape of the earth and the desecration of Her very life's blood, and erode the very atmosphere, soil, and water that keeps us alive.

All of this must and will end.

We are heading, at increasingly breakneck speed, into a world where our food is from the earth, organically grown, sustainably harvested, prepared in natural, healthy ways and eaten whole.  Where that food fuels our bodies and returns our ability to heal ourselves and live disease-free.  We are heading into a world where our food, our medicine, our cosmetics, our clothing, our shelter, and our cleaning products are all gifts from our planet, and serve to heal us as well as to fulfill our basic needs without toxifying or depleting Her.  We are heading into a world where children and adults are educated to understand how to live in harmony with their planet, how to figure out what their true purpose is in the world, and how to step into their place serving it in a way that serves the Highest Good of all.  We are heading into a world where because the number one intention of everyone is to serve the Highest Good, it is simple and even effortless and joyful to meet all of the needs of all of the people, and wealth and resources are distributed fairly and generously.  We are heading into a world where transportation and communication, heat, light, and power all are provided for abundantly by our planet in a way that serves and sustains our health and Hers.

How will we make this huge, drastic shift? 

Natural disasters, fuel shortages and prohibitively high fuel costs, the crash of the economy and the failure of the 'grid', that electronic world of information that rules and sustains us, will disconnect us from the old in a hurry.  We will be dramatically and uncomfortably disconnected from the old utilities and transportation, from our daily modes of communication.  We will totally abandon fossil fuels because we have no other choice, and it won't matter how inconvenient or slow or insufficient the alternatives are, we will build our lives around them.  We will not be able to use 'plastic' to procure what we need and will return to cash and trade, and eventually replace cash with something even better.  Public schools will close their doors, barring access to their conformist, soul-sucking institutionalized agendas and we will be pushed to figure out new, alternative ways to prepare our children to live independently in a very different world.  We will lose access to drugs and doctors, and to that false security blanket, insurance, which enslaves us to them, and we will turn in desperation to the plants around us, only then learning what real healing looks, tastes, smells, and feels like.  We will lose access to the attractive, convenient chemicals they now call 'food' and be forced to turn to the true, whole gifts of the earth in order to sustain ourselves.  We will be forcibly disconnected from the world of 'jobs' and enter into a world of life's work and true purpose, of world service and community interdependence.  Of joyfully doing what we were born to do, giving what we were born to give, in exchange for something from someone else who is doing the same.

This change is happening now.  The economy will continue to fall apart until it is destroyed completely, around the world, making space for something totally new that is actually in the best interests of ALL the people, not just the super-rich.  Companies will fail left and right, all around us, as everything built on greed suddenly finds itself totally without footing.  Big corporations will fall so fast it will be like the Earth herself opened up and swallowed them whole, and small, home, and cottage businesses built by people following their true heart's desires with the intention of living their purpose and serving the Highest Good of all will take their place, totally transforming the way we meet our needs.

Now is not the time to try and preserve what is naturally dying.  Now is the time to allow it all to fall.  And NOW, not tomorrow, is the time to disengage from *everything* built on the foundations of fear and greed, and embrace new alternatives out of choice, rather than the inevitable necessity that is soon to come.  Now is the time to prepare for the loss of access to everything that you now take for granted, from pure water to convenience 'foods', to 'health' care, to fossil fuel transporation, to cellphones, regular phones, television, radio, electric and gas heat, lights, and power.  Now is the time to know where you can stock up on the things you will need to sustain yourself and your loved ones when the old world's toxic options are taken away, one by one, and you're living in the in-between time before the replacements are available.

Now is a very good time to learn.  Learn what plants will sustain you nutritionally and will heal you naturally.  Learn where and how to get them, and how to prepare and use them.  Learn how to preserve and store them.  Learn what natural resources are around you and who your neighbors are, and get ready to share what you have in abundance with them in exchange for what you may need that they have plenty of.  NOW is the time to step back from anything that reeks of the old energy, the old attitudes, the old intentions.  You don't want to be caught in the rubble when the sands suddenly shift and the tower comes crashing down without notice.  Disengage from anything built on greed and fear, manipulation and exploitation.  Cut your ties now, and simplify your needs so that the lack of access to goods doesn't catch you unaware.  See anything around you that is faulty and feeding on lack as the temporary, insubstantial illusion it really is, and don't feed it your time, money, or attention anymore.  Open your mind to what your life would be like if the stores were empty, the schools were closed, the doctors were gone, and your power was out.  Open your mind to what your life would be like if suddenly you couldn't get petroleum products of *any* kind.

The intention of this message is NOT to scare you.  It is to help you deal with what is, by reminding you of WHY it must be.

We have to lose it ALL in order to find our power again.  And now *is* the time for that.  Now is the time to recognize that there is one indispensable thing that we all need, and that we all have, in order to navigate this chaotic disintegration of our world.  And that is our intuition.  Only that, and nothing else, will be steadfast and powerful, no matter what challenge you face in the midst of this situation.  It will tell you when it's time to stock up your pantry, and when it's time to pack up a suitcase and be ready to evacuate.  It will tell you exactly when to quit your job, pull your investments out of the bank, and get your kids out of school.  It will tell you what to carry with you and where to get it, and whom to trust when you can't make it alone.  It and it alone will guide you where you need to go when the lights are out, the winds are blowing, and there's no heat or water.  If you haven't tuned in already, it's time to prioritize that above all else.  It is the one thing that will never change while everything else around you does.

If you haven't learned how to hear your intuition, start by listening to your heart.  What does it most want to be doing right now?  Our Guidance systems always begin by pulling us in the right direction with feelings of joyful anticipation, interest, curiosity, and excitement.  And if we ignore it and instead choose obligation, responsibility, and guilt, or worse, fear, and go another direction, we are then motivated by suffering that does not end until we choose the right way.  Period.  We no longer have the choice of pursuing that which does not sustain everyone and serve the Highest Good of all.  We WILL disengage from the old world.  It can be no other way.  My parting advice is to search your heart for how to do that NOW, rather than when it simply isn't there anymore.

Wow, what a month.  I had no idea it was gonna suck so bad.  I mean, it had some great things about it and some really NOT so great things about it, so I was just...intense.  Hah.  Not so great was how everything we grabbed at to bring in more money fell through within DAYS and we had things shut off and a pretty empty fridge and cupboards.  Great was how everyone in the family came to visit and see our wonderful new home (and bought us food while they were here).  Not so great was the ascension symptoms WORSE than they've been in YEARS...fatigue, aches, dizziness, HUNGER...nausea...insomnia...and moodiness like I haven't had to deal with in such a long time...  Great was how we were taken care of every single time, even when we'd kinda figured that this time we wouldn't be.

Today, at least for us, the sun broke through the freaky clouds.  We got money, we got some emotional stability, and we felt a HUGE push from the Universe that is going to put us on our paths to Right Work and thus True Soul Service.  We are once again able to feel totally supported (AHHHHHHHHH....) and to be really excited about the fabulous potentials we've been trying to hang onto through this dark passage.  The Light is once again REAL to us, not just in belief, but it's TOUCHABLE once more.

It is my DEEP and sincere hope that others are feeling this same breakthrough energy.  I'm sending what it feels like over the grid to anyone who needs to tap in.

Okay, so I listened to a WONDERFUL training by THG's founder, Annette Pelliccio (featured in the little vid on my care2 site) that she calls "Goal-Setting Plus." Now, normally I'm sick and tired of the word 'goal', having spent YEARS in the self-development industry. Plus, I consider it a rather masculine, dry word and feel more attuned to more feminine language such as 'intentions'.

But the training was WONDERFUL, like I said, and today I felt very inspired to sit down and write out my results. After I was done, I felt like I got so much out of it that I wanted some way to share it with others, both so that maybe I can get some encouragement and support along the way, and so that others can possibly use the same program to help them get clarity on their own paths.

So, without further ado, here's what I came up with:

WHY I'm doing this:

I'm tired of working in the etheric. I want to bring what I've learned into the practical. I want to help teens in a grounded, daily way in their physical world, as well as help them to learn to master their nonphysical (spiritual) world. When I worked for others in the past, I was missing the spiritual (nonphysical) side. I've spent the last seven years immersed in the spiritual, and now I want to re-enter the work world with a balance of both the nonphysical and the physical aspects of helping. I have come to believe that spirituality is simply the understanding and mastery of the nonphysical part of our existence. Our energy systems, the thoughts and feelings that create our reality, and the nonphysical beings and structures that share our existence with us and affect our physical lives. I believe in Higher Power, in a greater soul-self as well as the One Spirit or Creator Consciousness from which we all come. I believe we can call it any number of names, whatever serves us most to empower and uplift our lives at any given time. I also believe there are nonphysical beings that interact with us on nonphysical and physical levels, and that learning about and communicating with these beings can make our lives much richer. "There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." THAT is what I believe.

Legacy Statement: I want to leave behind people who have found their passion and purpose and are living it joyfully, healthfully, and successfully. I want to leave behind people who have switched from toxic, chemically-laden lives to more natural and healthy ones. I want to leave behind people whose lives were changed as teenagers; who met me on a crossroads of their lives and made changes that led to lives of happiness and health. I want to leave behind a community (at least one) that has vastly improved resources for teenagers and autistic children, that is a much more wonderful place to live because of what I have helped to create.

Life Goals:

Family - I want to make life easier, more peaceful, and more joyful for my mate. I want my daughter to have more variety, stimulation, and social interaction in her life. I want her to be happy and healthy and have what she wants that is for her highest good. I want a closer relationship with my sister.

Spirituality - I want to take what I've learned and make it even more practical than ever before. I want to seemlessly integrate the spiritual, that is, nonphysical, side of my life with the physical side, so there are no sides, just a perfect whole.

Friendships - I want to have at least three good friends that I stay in touch with on a weekly basis, whose lives I know about and am a support in, and who know about my life and are a support in it as well.

Sidenote: I want to have a well-furnished house so that I can have guests for dinner and to stay over, and for parties and other get-togethers. I want to be proud of my home and for it to be comfortable and fun for my guests.

Love Relationship - I want to be able to have private time with my mate for dates, in order to strengthen our partnership. I want to take the burden of my emotional issues off her shoulders and give her more peace and ease.

Physical Health - I want to reach a healthy, lower weight. I want a strong, lean, energetic body that feels great to be in and move. I want to find fun, interesting ways to move in my daily life, and I want to feel good always. I want to look radiant, healthy, and naturally beautiful.

Community/World Service - I want to bring more resources and options to the coast for autistic kids and for teenagers. I want to help people get away from toxic products and replace them with natural, healthy ones.

Education - I want to complete my M.S. in Holistic Nutrition in a way that is stimulating and fun, and to continue learning whatever catches my passion at any given time. I want to be able to take whatever training most appeals to me at any given time. And I want to be able to USE what I've learned in my daily work, to make a great living changing people's lives for the better.

Work - I want to be one of the best at what I do. I want to feel excited and challenged by my work always. I want to love it. I want to be surrounded with people who are not about perfection, but excellence. I want to feel close to my co-workers, inspired by them, and supported by them. I want to make a daily, observable positive difference in the lives of those I serve with my talents and training. I want to make a great living with what I do, and never have to worry about having enough money for the things I want and need again. I want to always feel like I am using my special gifts and abilities in my work, and that others appreciate and admire me for what I bring.

1, 5, and 10 yr plan:

At the end of one year, I want to have paid my bills consistently for several months without struggle. I want to be immersed joyfully in my studies at Clayton College. I want to feel confident and supremely competent at my job, and be building a reputation as one of the best. I want to have someone come in and do housework at least once a month. I want to have a loving respite care worker and babysitter that we trust totally and feel a true heart connection with and that my daughter truly enjoys having around. I want to have finished furnishing the house so that it meets our needs and is truly a haven to live in. I want to have collected a new wardrobe of clothes that are flattering and comfortable.

At the end of 5 years...I don't know. I can't do this one right now... Maybe that's why my life has never really improved dramatically over the past five has changed, absolutely transformed, but not really improved the way I'd want it to. But how would I want it to? Maybe the fact that I've never, ever defined that has gotten me here... Okay. I'll give this a shot:

In five years, I want to own two great new cars that are easy on the environment, good looking, and fun to drive. I want to live in a house that feels wonderful, is filled with things I love, and meets all my needs and those of my family. I want to have a wardrobe filled with beautiful, natural, comfortable clothes. I want to have found the key to natural, joyful fitness and be around 150 pounds, with an active life. I want to have a solid circle of friends that I can hang out with and have a good time with, and who help me network to meet my professional needs. I want to be a valued, admired part of my community. I want to know lots of people in my community and truly feel like it's MINE. I want to be eating all natural, organic, whole foods, some of which I grow myself, others of which I get from local sources. I want to have an income of $6,000 per month or more, combined with my mate's, and to feel it is solid and secure. I want to have all old bills except my student loan paid off. I would love to have my student loan forgiven completely. I want to have a reputation as someone who is clever, loving, creative, and is truly making a difference in people's lives. I want people to want to be around me and want me on their teams. I want to be involved in all kinds of different things, but never overcommitted, just happily busy. I want to have brought all kinds of new resources to my community to make it a much better place for autistic kids and teenagers. I want to have made a positive difference in the lives of hundreds or even thousands of people, and to be appreciated for it.

In ten years, I want to have established a solid, steady, secure income of at least $10,000 per month. I want to live in a home that feels absolutely perfect for my needs, like I could not live anywhere better for me. I want to have met all kinds of fascinating, wonderful people and have been instrumental in bringing wonderful, positive change to my community and the world. I want to be known for all the positive changes I helped bring about. I want to be a respected, loved, well-known member of the community that people think of whenever they want to make something new and wonderful happen. I want to know all kinds of people everywhere and be able to bring people, money, and other resources together quickly to create new things that make the world a better place.

Wow. I didn't think I could do that. And I can hardly believe how different it feels to have done it. Especially the community part. I didn't realize, until I began writing, how important it was to me to become a member of my community and to make significant contributions to it! I honestly had no idea. Knowing this helps me know what to do when I feel like I should live somewhere else. I don't think moving will meet my needs, because what I enjoy most is bringing new things to a place that needs them. And what I want most is to make myself solidly a member of a community. Staying here and improving THIS place will meet both of those needs. So moving on is not a good choice. This is a relief to realize, because I've wondered if I should live somewhere with resources already in place. Writing this, and getting in touch with what I really want, clarifies that for me. No, I should create those resources here, not only for myself, but for everyone else as well. That is what will bring me the most joy and fulfillment, not only when they're in place, but during the process of creating them. That's who I am.

Like I said. Wow. What a process.
