Burma Celebrates New Years by Launching Air Strikes on Kachin Civilians in Laiza

jinghpaw1In Time Square, they dropped the ball for New Years. In Burma, they dropped bombs for New Years. Call it Than Shwe’s gift to the ethnic Kachin People (Jinghpaw) on this New Years Day as he stepped up military operations with renewed air strikes by attack helicopters and jet fighters. Civilians in the Laiza area were forced to dig bomb shelters as *Burmese Government forces destroyed infrastructure, civilian & military targets in clear violation of International Law as well as mandates issued by the UN. Guess those international laws only apply when convenient and profitable. And where is the western media, asleep at the wheel again but its not the first time they deliberately ignored the Kachin People.

It is unfortunate to note the media as a whole are owned by multinational corporations who are also eager to exploit Kachin States natural resources as Than Shwe. So it does not come as a surprise as Burma continues its exercise in eugenics by systematically murdering countless human beings in broad daylight in the face of the western world and their strategically ambivalent leadership. Should the media be held accountable for masking genocide in an effort to assist their parent companies? After all, they do have Kachin blood on their hands as thousands of Internally Displaced People (IDP) begins to die from starvation and exposure. Should they also be held culpable for the ongoing rapes and tortures of civilians as well? It is time to take down names and identify organizations for future International Criminal Court proceedings or is that a sham as well? Do your homework and follow the money and you will learn corruption runs deeper than any conspiracy could have ever imagined. It is all about the money and that is the bottom line.

The Kachin War was in full swing well over a year before the Burmese government instigated the feud between the Rohyinga and the Burmese while tossing in a religions theme to their dastardly deed. The corrupt media failed to report about the 100,000 Kachin IDP who fled advancing Burmese Troops that violated the original ceasefire then launched a murderous attack on farmers and villagers. The crisis in Kachinland also highlighted the fact President Their Sein is only a straw boss and Burma’s political arena is nothing more than a store front for international investors to sugar coat their involvement with the Junta.

In fact, the bogus civilian government of Burma was intentionally designed to mask the multitude of international corporations that continued to violate sanctions and do business with Than Shwe and the boys over the years. Unsurprisingly the media failed to make any mention of that ‘coincidental’ tidbit of hard facts. And don’t think for one second Than and his crew of miscreants were cleaver enough to devise this ‘civilian government’ scheme for the true architects are corporate vermin and their coven of elitist oligarchists. It’s funny in a dark and twisted way to note that General Than Shwe and his ilk are actually pawns to the corporate dollar for they allowed Burma to become colonized once again.  

To his credit, Their Sein did issue several ceasefires in the Kachin Civil War only to have his orders officially ignored by Than Shwe’s military. Aunty Suu is equally hapless and is only a pretty pawn in the grand scheme of things and there is no question her life & freedom was threatened if she ‘stepped out of line’. Now with absolutely no one willing to step forward and stop the genocide in Kachin State, the Junta has the green light to exterminate the remaining Kachin people by what ever means possible. All the world has offered is lip service, fanciful speeches and ‘feel good visits’ that only legitimized this criminal military regime. Than Shwe and his murderous criminals barely got their hands slapped, like a kid who stole lunch money, for crimes against humanity.

Guess it’s just a coincidence that mining corporations from the west have shipping containers filled with mining supplies in Burma waiting for the last Kachin to die. With the population vanquished there would be little opposition as they grab up the land and mine KachinState into oblivion. Stock holders from around the world are accessories after the fact for their profiteering on blood money and a party to genocide, not only in Kachin State but around the world. But in the meantime, let’s bomb the Kachin people into oblivion. Rape, torture and murder a few civilians for entertainment. When everybody is dead and gone we can pillage Kachin State for absolutely every natural resource this region possesses. After all, the media is in the pockets of corporate thugs who eagerly await news the Kachin people have been snuffed out of existence. And I doubt they will bite the hand that feeds them.

I renew my support for the Jinghpaw and the valiant men and women of the KIO/KIA who are sacrificing everything for their very existence. I also offer a special salute to the ‘White Tigers’ for their tireless efforts to save their people, you are not forgotten. And though Burma is well supplied with Russian and Chinese weaponry they continue to loose troops in great numbers and the Tatmadaw should be held accountable to the Burmese people for this needless loss of life for this is an unjust and evil war. The Kachin know who their allies are and when the war is over there will be many corporate ass kissers who will want to join the celebration but I doubt the Jinghpaw  will  send an invitation.

Burma: Where Western Aid for Kachin IDP’s is NOT Going, A Pictorial Journey

America Christian Organizations are sending millions of dollars in aid to the beleaguered Kachin Internally Displaced People. You’d think all is looking up but unfortunately this is not the case according to my Jinghpaw brother La Seng Labya who just returned from Kachinland. Apparently these well meaning organizations are sending aid that is simply not getting to the people in dire need. Rather than speculate where the money is actually going I’ve compiled a few pictures to show you where the aid is NOT going.

 

Reverend La Seng Labya is a Baptist minister from Fort Worth-Texas and cares deeply for his brothers and sisters in Burma. He is a true philanthropist and made the pilgrimage to Kachinland many times with humanitarian aid he personally gathered with the help of the DFW Kachin Baptist Church, Oakland Burmese Mission Baptist Church, Chin Revival Church, Arizona Kachin Christian Fellowship, Smiley Dental Group and fellow Christian Brothers and Sisters back in the US in an effort to ease the suffering. He also hand delivered the aid to insure it got to the people in dire need. Truly nonpolitical his only real concern is for their physical & spiritual needs. The photos are just a brief pictorial journey into the lives of the suffering of Kachinland who are just not being served by well intending organizations in the US.

Refugee center along the China/Burma border are hard pressed for resources and if it were not for the Chinese population in the region they would surely die of starvation. It should be noted the Chinese people are also hard pressed for resources because of the on going conflict but they give what they can to help the Kachin people in spite of their condition. The Chinese have shown themselves to be humanitarians in their own right.

Thousands of Kachin IDP’s have survived insurmountable odds to arrive in what was perceived as sanctuary but in actuality this may be their final death nill as the brutal winter months approach. Humanitarian aid is only a word for many IDPs and the struggle to survive continues and death awaits the weak, the young and the elderly. The plight of the refugee is equally dire for the only difference between them and the IDP is the fact they are on the Chinese side of the border.

Though the IDP and refugees are protected from enemy troops and human traffickers they are totally at the whim of nature and the elements.

As La Seng described what he had witnessed just a few weeks ago I knew in my heart he was totally overwhelmed by what he saw. The emotion in his voice and body language foretold a man who was grief stricken by the fetid conditions his people were being subjected to. I also felt his determination to ease their pain and suffering. La Seng is a man driven and he truly believes he can make a difference in the lives these human beings. I must admit that I was moved deeply as well for I only showed you the tip of the ice berg in this epic human drama.

Pictures speak louder than words and for the most part I am speechless.

 

I can only ponder how many people will survive the monsoon season only to face the harsh winters this region is noted for.

The established centers are severly overcrowded but there are a few more amenities such as a chapels, learning centers, proximity to medical assistance but they are also a better target for enemy troops who’ve shelled centers along the border indiscriminately over the last year. With what assistance was available more shelters were build but without further aid some projects were canceled in favor of more basic needs such as food and medical supplies.

There are many more photos but they all tell the same tale of grief and human suffering. The lack of support from the outside world has left an indelible mark on my soul as well as La Seng’s. There is no question critically needed aid never arrived in some of the neediest places on earth. The only thing that keeps them going is their faith and they have services every day, 3 times a day in part to keep their souls filled with hope and to give their spirits some solace in spite of their plight.


Though it would appear they have been neglected or ignored they are not bitter nor do they hold any anger to the outside agencies. It is said they believe the outside world simply does not know the real score and how things are or are not done. With this in mind I made this little pictorial so outside agencies are made aware of their situation. Hopefully aid will finally be pointed in the direction of the people who truly are in need of the critical supplies they need to sustain life. With winter just around the corner time is a critical factor. Reverend La Seng Labya is planning another trip and I urge people and agencies to contact him if they want to help these innocent people.

1. July 17-22, 2012: Laiza, Kachin State:  Jeyang, Hpum Lum Yang IDP Camps and Churches, China-Burma Border.

2. July 23-24, 2012: Mai Ja Yang, Kachin state: IDP Camps, NGO office, School and Institution, Kachin-Burma Border.

3. July 25-26, 2012: Yingjang, Yunan, China: Meeting and Bible Semiar at Hpyingyang Chinese Baptist Church,   Yunan, China.

4. July 27-28, 2012: Mangshi, Yunan, China-Meeting and visitation.

5. July 16, 28, 2012: Kunming, Yunan, China.

In recieving this message I can’t help but feel ashamed since my nations politicians have chosen to ignore crimes against humanity being committed by Burma’s junta. Senator’s are drooling like rabid dogs as ‘opportunities’ to exploit Burma’s natural resources, especially Kachin State. Their morality has become blinded by greed and hard fought alliances forged in blood simply are forgotten. Its like nothing ever happened in Burma, no election, no ‘civilian government’.

The Kachin are still earmarked for genocide under Than Shwe’s Burmanization Program. Horror stories continue to stream out of Kachin State but the west is deaf to the cries of humanity. The news of Kachinlands war may be silent to western ears but the war is very much alive to the humanity that fled their homeland in the wake of Burma’s insurgency.

My name is La Seng Labya, a naturalized American citizen born and raised in Kachin State Burma (Myanmar) and, currently serving the Lord as a Pastor at DFW Kachin Baptist Church. We are affiliated with Southern Baptist Convention through Southern Baptist Texas Convention (SBTC). I would like to present to you about Kachin people in China- Burma border and their suffering under current civil war. As a Brother’s Keeper in Christ, your prayer and support are needed and appreciated.

Kachins: The Kachin people are a group of ethnic groups who largely inhabit the Kachin Hills in northern Burma‘s Kachin State and northern Shan state. Kachin also live in Yunnan, China and in Northeast India. The Kachin mostly refer to themselves collectively as Wungpang. Kachin is the word that the Burmese and the world use to refer to them. The Kachin population is about 2.5 million people, of which about 1 million live in the borders of China-Burma today. Kachin is a strategically important state, lying between India and China, and also rich in resources including gold and jade mines, teakwood, rubber and banana plantations. They are frequently targeted by the military, partly for their ethnicity and partly for their faith.

Kachin Refugees (Internal displaced people in Sino-Burma border)

The violence erupted near the Taping River by the Burma -Chinese border in June 9, 2011 when a 17-year ceasefire between government forces and the Kachin Independence Organization (KIO), which controls the territory, was broken. The fighting has spread to several parts of

Townships in Kachin State and northern Shan State, with systematic torture, killing, and rape by Burmese troops.  As fighting escalated between Burmese government forces and Kachin rebels, more than 75, 000 civilians Kachin civilians fled from the Burmese military’s tortures, interrogations and forced labors as porters, are sheltering in China-Burma border city Laiza and surrounding areas under Kachin Independent Army’s control. While Burmese military is saying that the cause of this war is to protect “the project and the public”, the public are fleeing from their soldiers in fears of tortures and rapes to KIO controlled Laiza territory.

Current condition of Kachin Refugees

The Burmese government does not want the international community that there is a political problem with ethnic groups, that there is fighting. To date, there are no international NGOs present at makeshift shelters. The Chinese government has not permitted UNHCR to provide humanitarian assistance to Kachin IDPs and refugees. No temporary shelters have been set up for Kachin refugees and no foods have been provided by China, the world’s second largest economy. At present times Kachin Refugees are in need of immediate humanitarian assistance.

Increasing shortage of food and medicine: Torrential rains during the monsoon season beginning form June to August will create unsanitary conditions, making it difficult to prevent the spread of diseases such as diarrhea, Malaria, skin diseases, etc.

Shelter: The ddisplaced refugees living in temporary camps in Kachin State are in desperate need for better shelter as the monsoon season nears. Many refugees have no mats, blankets or mosquito nets with them and they sleep on a ground and a concrete floor.

Education: Refugee children needs education as a new school year begins for school children.

Immediate Protection: Most of the estimated 70,000 people displaced by fighting in Kachin and northern Shan state have taken shelter in refugee camps along the China border in territory controlled by the Kachin Independence Organization (KIO). If threatened attacks against Laiza, the headquarters of the Kachin Independence Organization, there could be significant civilian casualties, and an even greater humanitarian crisis as people who have already fled their villages once, and are suffering from malnutrition and illness, try to flee again.

 Proposal and appeal for Kachin Refugees:

  1. Please protect the lives of Kachin Internal Displaced People from the hand of Burmese Military attack by recommending Burmese Troops to withdraw from the Kachin Independent Organization controlled areas. 
  2. Please Assist Displaced Kachins with temporary housings, foods, and medicines. Refugee children needs education as a new school year begins for school children.
  3. Please urge the Burmese government to end its attacks by withdrawing Burmese troops and engaging in a meaningful dialogue with Kachin Independent Organization and ethnic nationalities.

 

Please help reach Kachin Refugees as a “Brother’s Keeper in Christ.” Your prompt and careful attention toward Kachin Refugee in Kachin state, Burma is greatly appreciated.

2010 Elections in Burma are fully rehearsed to legitimise military rule in Burma. Coyotes Call for Help!

With man ever encroaching in the natural habitat of all animals its no surprise that so called civilized people have taken the next step in eradicating any living thing that crosses it path. Tribally speaking, the coyote has always been our brother since no matter how hard settlers tried to exterminate us,we still returned just like the coyote. Therefore I am forwarding this request so the world will be aware of this genocidal act against nature.

Attn, ALL Native/Indigenous Nations, Coyote Clans, animal lovers, coyote spirit 2 legged and those who honor all living creatures that ALL have a right to share our “Earth Mother”. Tomorrow the City Council of Arcadia, California will be voting to authorize the killing of all coyotes in the hills of Arcadia. They will be allocating thousands of dollars to achieve this end to the Coyote nation. Who was here first? It doesn’t matter to the 2 legged who wield their power to reduce, diminish and exterminate the natural inhabitants of these sacred hills.


Sound familiar? So the call goes out, I have received an urgent request for representation from our nations on behalf of our 4 legged brothers & sisters we call “Coyote”. In the Creators name of all that is “sacred” Join us, native family & “spiritual leaders” speak to end this doing and slaughter of the Coyote nation.

Where: 250 W. Huntington Drive, Arcadia, Ca.

Time: 6pm


The press will be covering this so we need the “spiritual leaders” of our community to attend and give “word” to the “heart” of this council that of all who are placed here by the Creator have a right to live, free from decimation, as we, native people’s, who have also suffered at the hands of those who call themselves “the elected officials in charge of governing”. For the PEACE & BALANCE of our community we must peacefully in our natural “Harmonic expression of oneness” tell the story for the coyote nation.

Petition Gov. Bill Ritter of Colorado to Pardon “Little Joe” Arridy

I am forwarding this call for the Governor of Colorado to pardon *Joe Arridy, 23. It was drafted by **Robert Perske, writer, journalist and humanitarian. The petition respectfully requests the governor to  pardon “Little Joe” Arridy posthumously for the crimes of rape and murder of a 15 year old girl, Dorothy Drain, on August 15, 1936. Sadly, Little Joe has long since been convicted and ultimately executed at Colorado Territorial Prison, Canyon City. The arrest, trial and execution of Joe were media events likened to a carnival in darkly festive flare. Socialites flocked to make an appearance at this depression era kangaroo court.

Little Joe was locked into a pre-pubescence world since he had the mentality of a 6 year old boy, innocent even in thought. Joe was the ideal suspect and detectives took full advantage of his naivete coercing a confession almost immediately. Being of Syrian decent added fuel to the community’s frenzied scorn as well. The media poisoned public opinion against Joe across the state with fabricated sensational tales that horrified and disgusted readers. They painted Little Joe as a vial and perverted killer of little girls. Joe was a dead man walking even before he was arrested. Guilt was already assumed. He was convicted and sentence to death. Then he was executed in the gas chamber on January 6, 1939 to the joy of a cheering mobs, justice was served. They say Joe was smiling when he entered the death chamber for he truly was a child and could not comprehend the concept of his own death. In the evening after Joes execution even the hardest of convicts wept because of the injustice that shrouded the day. The bittersweet irony of Joe’s dark journey was the fact three months after his execution the true


killer of Dorothy Drain was arrested then confessed to the grizzly assault.

The pardon represents dignity and justice for a mentally challenged man/child who was wrongfully convicted of a crime he did not commit. Though Little Joe has died his memory lives in the hearts of those who discover his story. This pardon would also exhonorate a mother who love and stood beside her son in the darkest of times. She knew in her heart Joe was innocent all along. There is much more to the Joe Arridy Story than I can give justice to at this juncture. The whole story would stagger the sensibilities since Joe’s life was a journey through hell and horrific abuse disguised as the mental health care system of the early 20th Century. Robert Perske wrote a book, “DEADLY INNOCENCE?” (The Tragic Story of Joe Arridy), that chronicled Joe Arridy’s life. It is very compelling and well worth a read.

It does not matter what part of the planet you reside in. Drop Governor Ritter a short note in support of pardoning Joe Arridy posthumously. Write a personal note to the governor or simply use the template Mr. Perske provided. It will only take a moment of your time. Then send it to Robert Perske with the address provided. Let Bob know you are supporting the noble efforts of  attorney David A. Martinez  who is spearheading the petition drive in Denver Colorado. He will submit the petitions to the governor in a timely fashion.

Dear Colleague:

Denver Attorney David A. Martinez is filing a petition asking Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, Jr. to issue a posthumous pardon to Joe Arridy who was wrongfully executed on January 6, 1939.  This cause will be helped if a number of “independent persons” chose to write letters that will support the efforts of Attorney Martinez.  Here is the plan:

  • I have volunteered to receive your letters. (PLEASE SEND YOUR HARD COPY VIA U.S. MAIL TO PERSKE, 159 HOLLOW TREE RIDGE ROAD, DARIEN, CT 06820).
  • I will assemble the letters and write a cover index that will list all names alphabetically.
  • The packet will be submitted with the Attorneys petition and documentation.
  • THE DEADLINE FOR RECEIVING THE LETTERS WILL BE LABOR DAY.

Dear Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, Jr.:

I know of the situation regarding Joe Arridy, the youth with an intellectual disability who had been labeled  “an imbecile with the mental capacity of a six-year-old child.”  He was executed at the Colorado State Penitentiary in 1939.  I recently learned of the efforts seeking a posthumous pardon of Joe Arridy’s death sentence.

I am in support of a pardon for Joe.  I believe such a pardon, although symbolic today, will right a wrong that was committed years ago under different times and circumstances that would not be allowed today.  Such a pardon would be a monumental act on behalf of all persons with disabilities.

I urge you to issue this pardon to demonstrate that individuals with intellectual disabilities are entitled to the basic human rights and dignity, independent of the unfortunate circumstances under which they often live.

Thank you for every consideration you give my request on behalf of Joe Arridy.
