"Change the Church!" THAT is the chant of HUNDREDS of Young People walking out from their classes & demonstrating & sitting-in in lunchrooms and gyms - in SEVERAL Catholic High Schools in the Seattle area, after a Gay married teacher was fired. REVOLUTION

I am in a position, living nearby as I am, to give a bit of background on all this. PLEASE PASS THIS ON - this is BIG INTERNATIONAL NEWS. Support for the Catholic Students is coming in from every country in the world, from both their own ages and their elders. This is an HISTORIC WATERSHED for the "Holy" Roman Catholic Church!

BMutiny TheCorporationsAreEvil [And the Roman Catholic Church IS a Corporation.]

As someone pointed out, if this had been a CATHOLIC PRIEST who had actually MOLESTED, RAPED, COERCED OR HURT A CHILD, that person would have simply been quietly moved to another parish!
This is all about "being Gay sets a Bad Example for the kids".

Actually, the school {says it} had the legal right to fire the teacher - he, like all employees, had to sign a Contract saying they would "observe Catholic doctrine". HOWEVER, this bit of coercion is NOT enforced in Catholic schools with regard to DIVORCED AND RE-MARRIED employees! THAT is "against Catholic doctrine" as well!!! So, the legal question is raised, if the school DID fire the teacher, was he SINGLED OUT BECAUSE HE WAS GAY.... while the same school administration let Heteros get away with "not observing Catholic doctrine" in their personal relationships! Even for a Private Institution, in the State of Washington that apparently would not be legal!
So the school has to be UTTER HYPOCRITES in telling the Press that the teacher "left voluntarily", after "coming to an understanding" - while they told the PARENTS that the teacher had been FIRED! Also, at that little conference where "an understanding was reached" {HAH!}, the school's Catholic LAWYER was present.... suuuuure!
The teacher had been at the school for a year and a half, during which time apparently he was OUTSTANDING with the kids, they all say! And, the teacher NEVER mentioned being Gay... his private life was his private life. Which is fine.
Apparently, the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" mentality is alive & well in Catholic schools. About FIFTEEN of them, before this, have fired Gay teachers AFTER THEY GOT MARRIED. This teacher/vice principal got married in June - apparently some other teachers got wind about it just NOW, and told the Administration - tattled, it seems. AFTER it "got out", the school then HAD to fire him like the others....
But, this IS SEATTLE.... Bastion of Liberalism!
And the KIDS are LEADING BY MORAL EXAMPLE..... I love that!!!

Those who are outraged by Gay Marriage, are basically outraged by the very idea{!} of Gay Sex. Of course married people have sex, and UNmarried people have sex too - it is just the idea of the State "officially" saying having - and enjoying! - Gay Sex is okay and not a "Sin".

Gay sex, dontcha know, is inherently WORSE than other, heterosexual sex. Of course, according to the Christian Catholic doctrine of Original Sin, heterosex is BAD, EVIL, DIRTY too - ALL sex is Bad, Evil, Dirty, Sinful. Even THINKING about Sex, is Bad, Evil, Dirty, Sinful in itself - so much more is actually DOING it! And ALL AFFECTION AND LOVING IS TAINTED because that dirty ol' Sex, Original Sin, etc., creeps into it.
But, because Society MUST go on, and children MUST be born "between pee and excrement" as I think St. Augustine said...
Marriage makes hetero sex OKAY! and at least, a bit LESS sinful...
THAT is why the Haters are against Gay Marriage. They are TIED to the idea of Sex as Sinful, Evil, Tainted UNLESS it has the official Stamp of Approval on it.... that makes {hetero} married sex Okay {just marginally!}. They don't WANT Sex to be other than a dirty shameful anti-life thing...

This is an article I am copying from the Seattle Gay News [September 21, 2012].

By Michael Raitt, SGN Contributing Writer.

"What does Gay really mean? Going beyond 'sexual orientation' to embrace a deeper truth".

Do you remember "Uncle Frank" and his good friend/roommate, "Uncle Bill"? Or "Aunt Sue" and her friend, "Aunt Barbara"? They lived together for years and it was tacitly understood that their relationship went beyond that of a simple friendship, but the precise nature of that partnership was never openly talked about and was only superficilly acknowledged. Most of us can recall a situation in our family or neighborhood that resembled this.

Now these relationships are being talked about and they are being framed in the context of what they are really about -- love! I hear politicians talking about "being accepted for whom you love" and I see TV ads where parents are talking about loving their children and accepting their child's partner -- the person their child loves -- into their family. People are talking about the right to marriage -- not for monetary gain or to push a political agenda for the sake of pushing an agenda. Rather, because of love.

For years, the terms "Gay", "Lesbian", and "homosexual" have had double meanings. One meaning was that two women or two men were in a relationship together. However, the more powerful meaning, and the bigger focus that was applied, was around the act of sex, and the popular terms used were {and still are, I might add} "sexuality" and "sexual orientation". Being Gay was reduced to describing who we were having sex with. We've had it backwards this whole time!

Historically, I understand why it was backwards. The social constraints were so punitive in years past that, although many men and women longed for loving relationships with someone of the same gender, they absolutely couldn't risk it. The most feasible option left, in those times, was to go and seek a quick sexual connection.

However, times are changing. Individuals, families, friends, and communities are recognizing that being Lesbian or Gay is about being in a romantic, loving relationship. People are seeing that their Lesbian and Gay sons, daughters, parents, friends, bosses, neighbors, politicians, and celebrities are pursuing loving relationships.

Being Gay or Lesbian is an emotional orientation! We should be stating that explicitly and correcting people by saying exactly that -- "Gay is not a sexual orientation, it is an emotional orientation", and "I am Lesbian/Gay because of who I love and not who I have sex with." We should be making it clear that love is the emotion that drives relationships, and we do that by using accurate terminology. I am Gay because of my ability to have a romantic, emotional connection with another man. "Emotional orientation" more truthfully explains the experience of being Lesbian or Gay. This whole push for marriage equality is about the emotional relationship between two adults -- not who they have sex with!

It is no longer acceptable, either for us or for the people who know us and love us, to allow the designation of Lesbian or Gay to reduce us to an act of sex. This is why I strongly disagree with the terminology of "sexual orientation". Sexual orientation almost entirely negates what it really means to be Lesbian or Gay. Those of us who are Lesbian or Gay should no longer be referring to our "sexuality". This minimizes who we are and perpetuates the focus on an act of sex rather than on the emotional bond that love brings. "Sexuality" and "sexual orientation" describe the simplest of observable human behaviors. It is impossible for those two terms to capture the real nature and complexity of emotion and relationship dynamics that are part of being Lesbian or Gay.

Love is very complex. We know little about it. We know it is a very strong drive and we know there are different kinds of love. Familial love is different than the love one has for, say, a favorite sports team. There is love of country, food, and gardening. Some love to paint or they love their job. People love their friends and their cars. Yet there is another love that is quite different from all of these. It is romantic love!

The majority of us have experienced romantic love. It is a sensation unlike almost anything else. It is exciting and scary. It creates bonds that can transcend physical time and life. We build families around it. I don't know of anyone who can tell us with certainty exactly how it happens but it does. What I can tell you is that romantic love is the force that makes us Lesbian or Gay. Every single Lesbian woman and Gay man who reads this can relate. They know it is true to the core of their being.

We are talking about love. We are fighting for love. Acknowledging our capacity to love makes us feel good. Being in love makes us healthier and happier. Love forms bonds and families and families create strong communities and a thriving country. Love is one of the most basic, yet extraordinarily powerful emotions that most humans seek to experience. We are hard-wired to love. Let us actively and accurately portray what being Lesbian or Gay really is - an emotional orientation!

A Yiddish CURSE for Repuglican Jews!!!

To quote from

May G-d give you a daughter-in-law who is as kind as she is beautiful, as patient as she is rich, as wise as she is devoted, a virtuous woman in every way. And then may a ballot initiative invalidate her marriage to your Rebecca.

Yiddish curses always have those lovely TWISTS!!!

Since April, we've experienced several tragic suicides of middle-school aged children -- each provoked by anti-LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) bullying and harassment.

These heartbreaking student suicides are a chilling reminder to all of us that we need to stand up and take action to prevent the perpetuation of soul crushing anti-LGBT behavior that is claiming young lives.

Passing the Safe Schools Improvement Act (H.R. 2262) would mark a pivotal turning point in the crucial fight for safer schools. It would establish -- for the first time in our nation's history -- a federal mandate for schools to adopt anti-bullying policies that include the categories of sexual orientation and gender identity/expression. This act would ensure that schools no longer get a "pass" when they turn a blind eye to anti-LGBT behavior, and it would require them to address all forms of bullying.

Take a stand today. Urge your representative to support the Safe Schools Improvement Act today

....What the Safe Schools Improvement Act aims to do is compel schools to act on homophobia in the classroom and to draw up policies to deal with anti-gay bullying and the issues faced by LGBT students, rather than just ignoring them. Currently, schools lack a federally approved framework to do so.
