PR blunder by PETA -- or, FBI conspiracy against them?

.................. This was {supposedly} handed out to kids as young as 6 years old at a performance of the "NutCracker Suite". 

I have no way of knowing whether that is true or not.

I do not doubt the sincerity of the person who posted this ghastly picture. 
 


      
 

 
 

I strongly feel that this comic book is the work of FBI provocateurs working undercover in or out of PETA, in order to discredit it.
I can't of course "prove it". But, in the '60's, the FBI did an exactly similar thing to discredit the Black Panthers, which was among other things a Social Service group providing free breakfasts for children in the ghetto. There was a "coloring book" that was created by an FBI agent that had pictures of black violence against ugly, caricatured white people, and praising that violence. The Black Panthers rejected that coloring book and would have nothing to do with it; NEVERTHELESS, it was mailed out to numerous white households AS IF IT DID COME FROM THE BLACK PANTHERS. It helped to ruin and disperse the Black Panthers. This is all HISTORY and is documented {War at Home, by Brian Glick, available on-line; see also Black Panther coloring book}.
I don't KNOW anything about it; but, this sure LOOKS LIKE exactly the same sort of thing! PETA must know that this comic book is extremely bad PR for them, and would if they are sane, like the Black Panthers rejected the "coloring book", reject this "comic book" for exactly the same reasons.
This is the sort of thing that will be "revealed" dozens of years later, when someone "fesses up" it was they who did it. In the meantime, we must use our common sense as well as the lessons taught by history.
