I have been contacted by Dee of Wings of Love Bird Haven near Dallas. Unfortunately, their facility was hit with Pachecho’s virus, and the disease wiped out at least half of their adoptable birds. The remaining birds, though asymptomatic, have been exposed and must be considered carriers. Due to the vet costs and diagnostic costs that the organization has already incurred, they cannot afford to test these birds. So, Dee is trying to find good homes for these birds that would be one bird homes or find adopters who have very few birds and would be willing to vaccinate their birds prior to bringing home one of these. The fees are all negotiable. I cannot take any of them here. I take in a small number of rescues myself, I cannot afford to vaccinate all of my rescues, and I don’t have permanent quarantine space. But she asked me to forward her problem, and if you all have a potentially good families, applicants, or homes for any of these birds, please contact her.  Dee1-214-773-4377 Here is a list of birds that she needs to place. Again, they are asymptomatic, but might be carriers.  7 Cockatiels – must go together, all very tame2 conures – housed together, one Jenday, shy, and one Sun, very tame1 Broadwing Pionus, very tame2 Umbrella Cockatoos, very affectionate, but can be nippy1 B&G Macaw, very sweet

This says it all about internet friends

"FRIENDS ARE LIKE BALLOONS, ONCE U LET THEM GO, U CAN ' T GET THEM BACK SO I' M GOING TO TIE U TO MY HEART SO I NEVER LOSE U.
SEND THIS TO ALL UR FRIENDS INCLUDING ME! SEE HOW MANY U GET BACK ."
Well here is the cure ... just smile and say...
Dear Lord .
I know you're watching over me
And I'm feelin g truly blessed
For no matter what I pray for
You always know what's best!

I have this circle of E-mail friends,
Who mean the world to me;
Some days I "send" and "send,"
At other times, I let them be.

I am so blessed to have these friends,
With whom I've grown so close;
So this little poem I dedicate to them,
Because to me they are the "Most"!

When I see each name download,
And view the message they've sent;
I know they've thought of me that day,
And "well wishes" were their intent.

So to you, my friends, I would like to say, !
Thank you for being a part;
Of all my daily contacts,
This comes right from my heart.

God bless you . is my prayer today,
I'm honored to call you "friend";
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until we write again.

It gives me great pleasure to tell you that ASPCA® Mission: OrangeTM is now officially underway. Launched today from our shelter in New York City, ASPCA Mission: Orange is a focused, measurable effort to create a country of humane communities, one community at a time, where animals receive the compassion and respect due to them as sentient beings—and where there is no more unnecessary euthanasia of adoptable animals simply because of a lack of resources or awareness.

With the collaboration of community and animal welfare leaders in “target communities” across the country, it is our hope that we will begin to effect immediate, measurable and sustainable change. During the first year of our campaign, ASPCA Mission: Orange will launch in Austin, TX, Gulfport/Biloxi, MS, Philadelphia, PA, and Tampa, FL. We will also continue to implement the principles behind ASPCA Mission: Orange in New York City.
