  "Stand Against Puppy-Killing Soldiers"

YouTube has pulled the video, but you can still see it here.

Recently, a video clip surfaced of a US soldier and his buddy throwing an innocent puppy off a cliff in Iraq.  You're there to defend America and bring freedom, not needlessly kill animals!

Tell the US Military to take action against US soldiers abusing animals in Iraq.  This is not an isolated incident. Actions like these hurt America's moral standing in the world and only distract from bringing our brave men and women home from the war.

Throw the book at these guys! Sign the petition and note the story on C2NN now!

Click here to note the C2NN story.
Video has been disabled from petition but it can also be viewed here -

WARNING - video starts playing soon as page loads, it is very upsetting for anybody who cares about animals.

This is by far one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen or heard of. Those who made this pitiful excuse for a movie, which is nothing more than a "snuff film" pruposely focused the camera on the kitten which was drowned slowly in agony. They are sick deviants and should be prosecuted for what they have done. The three URL's are the news site, the video if you can stomach seeing it, and the petition site. Please sign and express your outrage at such a brutal act and the mental sickness that was allowed to be filmed. It was not art. It was the exploitation of a helpless kittens death to make a profit.
Sadly, Julie

Kitten killed for "art" in a Hungarian movie

A short Hungarian movie called "Álszent" (Hypocrite) showed a scene for 2 minutes where a grey tabby kitten is choked and drowned in a bathtub. The scene shows pain and agony of the kitty all the way, until it dies..

     Healthy Dalmatian Euthenized

Dalmatian 'Dustin' - A3778489 URGENT !!   YOU MUST SIGN & HELP PUT AN END TO THIS...   IT MAKES NO SENSE !!!

This sweet 2-year-old healthy stray Dalmatian, nicknamed 'Dustin'  (Impound #A3778489), was brought to the Lancaster, California County Shelter on January 29, 2008, and allowed to be EUTHENIZED on February 20, 2008 by shelter employees, despite the efforts of at least half a dozen rescuers to adopt him from the shelter and save his life.

Rescuers were told by various shelter employees that Dustin had already been spoken for by other rescuers and that the dog was not available during the entire three and a half weeks he was held there.

Video circulated through the rescue community showing the dog scared and shivering in the cold, inhumane conditions at Lancaster Shelter, and even though I personally talked on the phone with a shelter employee the night of Tuesday February 21, 2008, and promised her I was coming first thing in the morning to pick up the dog, when I called the next morning, I was told the dog had been put to sleep with no explanation given.

This is not the first needless killing at Lancaster Shelter of a healthy animal that had a home waiting for him, and it won't be the last.  The six shelters in the Los Angeles County Shelter system each have countless  complaint reports like this one, documented by dozens of voluntary rescuers who are trying to save these animals' lives, but who are regularly dismissed and treated with indifference by incompetent shelter staff.

This cannot continue.  These are supposed to be shelters, not death camps.  Please sign this petition, and send it far and wide to every animal lover you know.  Tell the L.A. County Board of Supervisors and the director of Lancaster Shelter that the indifference to their animals and to the rescuers trying to save them will not be tolerated one day more.  Thank you!!

    SAVE OUR ANIMALS! BAN PUPPY MILLS IN AUSTRALIA

Relief arrives for 101 dogs living in squalid conditions. One of the most horrific cases of neglect and animal cruelty was witnessed by the RSPCA and police who raided Waterford Boarding Kennels and Cattery, South of Brisbane on January 2008.

I am from the state of Victoria and briefly saw the news a few weeks ago about those poor 101 poodles and other dogs that have been neglected. My heart aches for the dogs and I am still wondering how they are progressing since being in the great care of the RSPCA?  It deeply saddens me that those poor dogs have been mistreated. All of the dogs were in poor condition, with matted fur clotted with urine and faeces, ear infections, and some infested with maggots. From this occurrence, I am so against puppy farming or back yard breeding as you could call it, which is not monitored strictly by local and animal health authorities.

Sadly purebred puppies or x breeds are produced in massive numbers.  Unfortunately the dogs live in conditions that are inhumane, lacking in quality food and shelter, little veterinary care, overcrowded cages and little freedom to roam and be loved by humans. The puppies are then sold directly either to pet shops, via the Internet or newspaper ads within Australia. Now is the time to fight against inhumane puppy mills.

It has also come to my attention that certain advertising websites have listed the so called business that the RSPCA raided recently and rescued 101 dogs.  This saddens me to the point that I have even contacted them and only one so far has responded and is prepared to do something about removing the listing. All Aussie businesses should ban such a person to advertise on their website.

More devastating, I came across yahoo 7 members room and was totally horrified what I read. Sadly one member commented that unfortunately they had to put their German Sheppard down because they had temporally placed their dog in the care of Waterford Boarding Kennels, whilst in the process of moving to WA. My wish is for authorities to look into the matter further and stop puppy farming of poorer quality.

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Save our animals from imprisonment and inhumane cruelty and allow them the opportunity to live a wonderful life.

So please join in the fight to ban puppy mills by signing my petition today!

  MAKE ROOM FOR JORDAN!

Target: ABC'S "EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION"
Description/History:
(Hendersonville, TN) Jordan Taylor is a little boy whose life is nothing short of a
miracle. In June of 2006, two-year old Jordan nearly drowned in the family pool.
Blue and lifeless, he was rushed to the hospital where he was CLINICALLY DEAD
for over an hour. When his heart spontaneously started beating again, the ER
director declared it the first “full-blown MIRACLE” he had ever seen in all his
years in emergency care.

While Jordan regained his heartbeat, he was left in what his doctors perceived to
be a &ldquoermanent vegetative state.” He was unconscious, unresponsive and
unable to breathe on his own, appearing to have little or no brain activity. In
fact one doctor predicted that Jordan would most likely &ldquorogress towards
significant brain injury and possible BRAIN DEATH.” After two weeks in intensive
care with very little perceptible change, the doctors advised Jordan’s family to
pull the plug.

After much prayer and deliberation, Jordan’s family felt strongly that hope was
not lost on the toddler; he simply needed a little more time. Sure enough, just a
few days later, to the utter astonishment of the hospital staff, Jordan opened
his eyes and began breathing on his own. Finally, after thirty-one excruciating
days in the hospital, Jordan was able to go home to be with his family.

Being “home” is presenting a new set of challenges. Even before the accident,
the house was literally bursting at the seams. Jordan’s family, including his twin
brother, Brandon, older brother, Ashton, sister, Kayleigh, and single mom,
Jeannie, all lived with Jordan’s grandparents, Pam and Bobby, and their
daughter, Erin. It was hard enough to make room for eight people in a three
bedroom house, but now, with Jordan requiring around-the-clock care and
special equipment; it’s all the family can do to make it from one day to the next.

The home also serves as a daycare, which the family has depended on as a
source of income for several years. Due to Jordan’s condition, they have had to
reduce the number of children they are able to care for, which has drastically
affected the family financially. The house has it’s own share of physical problems
as well. Full of cracks, leaks and plagued with constant plumbing problems, it is
less than ideal for an in-home daycare, a large family and a child with special
needs.

With unwavering faith and resolve, the family stays optimistic. Even in Jordan’s
crowded surroundings, he continues to make remarkable improvements. He is
regaining his ability to swallow. He is beginning to speak again. He is able to hold
his head up on his own and follow voice commands- all things the doctors said
he would NEVER be able to do! Jordan’s family and his therapists are hopeful
that Jordan will soon be walking again. It has been a difficult, even excruciating
journey at times, but it is a path they continue faithfully walking daily.

YOU CAN READ JORDAN'S UPDATE BLOG AT
http://www.prayersforjordan.blogspot.com

(UPDATE 3/30/07) I just wanted you to know that Jordan's mom, Jeannie,
reads to Jordan everyday the comments of people who sign his petition. Jordan
has always been a very sensitive and perceptive child, but even now he really
seems to know and understand what Jeannie reads to him. As strange as it may
sound, Jordan has been making greater strides towards recovery since the very
day that petition was posted, almost like he knows and feels the love and
prayers of his new friends. Thank you all!!!

Love and Blessings,
Jordan's Granny, Pam

"Ban Peter Carruthers' work from the classroom!!!" petition!

Do you believe this dog could feel the pain when he broke his leg? Obviously Carruthers does not. Do not support his writing being read in the classroom.

SHOCKING !!  READ THE ENTIRE VERY LONG PETITION
SIGN,FORWARD,CROSS-POST ON/OFF CARE2

 I believe that if people are told that animals cannot feel and that they are not worth our time and energy to help that people will start to be even more trouble for them. If young minds are taught that animals cannot feel a broken leg than they might think it is acceptable to hit and kick them.
    I would really appreciate getting this piece removed from the curriculum for next years class. It is not necessary to expose people to information like this because in itself what he has written is morally wrong. These are simply his views, however it is wrong to advocate them because they are so disheartening. I do not agree with allowing students to read this piece because there is no telling what people will do when they start to believe that animals feel no pain and that its perfectly fine to not care about their pain. I am strongly opposed to this piece of "work", and I am certain that I am not alone in this.
    I wish to have a stronger case against publishing this piece in further texts of Reason and Responsibility. I do not want to cause any trouble, I am just so dead set against this piece being read. I have researched Peter Carruthers since I read this article and this piece is not the only one that is against animal rights. I obviously cannot stop him from having his views (despite how much I wish I could), however I can try to stop this piece from being read by students as part of their Philosophy course. I did not register in this course to be hurt by a piece like this. Even his calling animals brutes is terrible on its own. If you agree with my stance on this issue please do what you can to help me.
    I have enclosed a link to Brute Experience that I found on the internet so that you can read the article if you have not already done so. Below are the exact points in the piece that bothered me the most so that you can focus your attention on them.

Tiny part I copied from the Petition but you should take a look at this link

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
LETTER
We the undersigned need to work towards teaching students information that is positive. Telling young minds that animals are incapable of feeling or thinking just allows them to think that they do not need to care about them at all. When Peter Carruthers states that we are morally wrong to care about animals with broken legs, he inspires cruelty towards animals. People will think that if a broken leg is meaningless, than it is ok to abuse animals in other ways as well. If you disagree that it is morally acceptable to not care about animals and that we are not wasting our time and efforts trying to help them than please help me remove this painful piece of work from the Philosophy curriculum. Thank you for taking the time to show your support for animals.
   HELP TO STOP ZOOCIDE IN UKRAINE!
a murdered little dog in Uzhgorod
Extermination of homeless animals, unprecedented in it scope and cruelty, spread in Ukraine early in this year. In the cities of Uzhgorod, Chernigiv, Rivne, Simferopol and Kremenchuk, mass killing of animals is done in an atrocious way, causing their terrible suffering  by shooting poison from pneumatic weapons. Adults and children become eyewitnesses to this cruelty, and it traumatizes their mentality.
An excuse for such flagrant, antihuman acts is single occurrence of rabies: in Uzhgorod, only ONE sheepdog was ill moreover, it was domestic; in Chernigiv, a wild fox was found sick; in Simferopol, chickens were infected with poultry flu. However, rabies occurred in the past and still occurs sometimes in other cities and towns of Ukraine, and yet it does not cause mass killing of homeless dogs and cats.
Actions of local officials who made decisions to organize such slaughter are contrary to both international rules of law and effective legislation of Ukraine. All animals are killed whether homeless or cared for, registered, vaccinated and sterile. Even home pets are shot  now and then before the very eyes of their owners. In that way local officials try to resolvethe problem of homeless animals in Ukrainian cities. Instead of building shelters and taking measures for sterilization of animals, as is the case in Europe, Ukrainian officialdom prepared for the miserable ones a terrible death.
Animal-protecting organizations and all conscious Ukrainian public appeal to international human rights organizations and to all people of goodwill for help!
Stop Polar Bear Trophy Hunting!
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/608577711
Polar bears already face a daunting future because of global warming, oil and gas exploration and toxic chemical pollution. But there's another threat that many Americans aren't aware of – trophy hunting.
The United States does not allow sport hunting of polar bears in their Alaskan habitat. But more than half of the world's polar bears live in Canada, where hunting is legal. And due to a huge loophole in the Marine Mammal Protection Act, American trophy hunters can travel to Canada, kill a polar bear, and bring back polar bear trophies.
From 2002-2005, a total of 298 requests were made by US citizens to import sport hunted polar bear trophies from Canada. Of these, 252 - a staggering 85 percent - were issued.
The Polar Bear Protection Act would put an end to imports of polar bears taken as trophies from Canada - and help safeguard the world's remaining polar bears.
Tell your Senators and Representative to support the Polar Bear Protection Ac
t today!
    Save the Polar Bear from Oil & Gas Drilling
For over two years now, environmentalists have been working to protect the polar bear under the Endangered Species Act - but the Fish and Wildlife Service keeps delaying a decision. At first we thought it was just because they were mean, but then a certain 30 million acre tract of polar bear habitat hits the auction block - an area of land that would never be opened if the bear were protected.
We can't let 2008 will go down in history as the year the Bushies took every last thing they could get their hands on. Please take a minute right now, email your members of Congress, and ask them to stop any oil and gas leases in polar bear habitat.
  Please show your support to a Pennsylvania lady who was convicted of theft for trying to help a dying Dog
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/2/please-show-your-support-to-a-pennsylvania-lady-who-was-convicted-of-theft-for-trying-to-help-a
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is her story:

On December 14, 2007, I was convicted of theft and receiving stolen property for
coming to the aid of this dog, who lay chained, unable to stand, and suffering
in an East Freedom, Pennsylvania backyard.
Despite overwhelming evidence of cruelty on the part of the dog's caretakers, no
charges were ever brought against them by either the humane officer or the police.
A private criminal complaint filed by myself and Dogs Deserve Better languishes
unaddressed on the desk of DA Richard Consiglio.
Both video evidence of the dog struggling to get up and after-photos and video of
the dog walking were suppressed from the jury. These videos are currently available
for viewing on YouTube and our site.
I am to be sentenced by Judge Elizabeth Doyle on February 22, 2008. I am expected
to receive a fine and/or community service, as well as probation for this supposed
crime. I am morally and ethically unable and unwilling to pay any fine that goes
to pay the salaries of those who use power wrongly; those who punish citizens for
helping animals and allow animal abusers to go free will not receive monetary support
from me.
The DA has taken flack in the opinion columns of local newspapers for wasting Blair
County taxpayer money on my trial. His solution? To charge ME for the cost of the
trial, reported to be over $1000. He expects me to pay costs for a jury who knew
nothing of jury nullification, and knew not that they were free to exercise their
own judgment based on their consciences rather than follow the advice of those in
power just because they said they had to. They were therefore railroaded into a
conviction by the actions of the DA and Judge Doyle.
It is not enough for Mr. Consiglio to drag my name and the name of Dogs Deserve
Better through the mud in order to distract our citizens from the fact that cruelty
laws were already being broken, and that the humane officer and the police failed
to do their jobs. He would have me foot the bill for it. As a taxpayer of Blair
County, Pennsylvania, I have already contributed my share to this trial. I will
contribute no more.
As founder and director of Dogs Deserve Better, I do community service virtually
ever day of my life. If fact, I was performing community service the day I picked
an aged and dying dog out of the mud and got him the veterinary care he was entitled
to by law.
I am a law-abiding citizen of both Pennsylvania and the United States of America.
I have served my country as a top-secret cleared linguist in the U. S. Air Force,
reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant at my first available opportunity, and honorably
discharged in 1988. I strive very hard to obey all laws that seem fair and do not
cause harm to others. I stop short of obeying any law that would force me to watch
a dog die in the dirt, just because he is considered mere property of another. I
will continue to fight for better laws for man's best friend, as well as shine
a light on the current lack of enforcement of existing cruelty laws.
This dog was not just another piece of trash that a Pennsylvania couple could allow
to die unassisted, chained, and flailing about in the mud and his own feces in their
yard. Doogie had the right to live or the right to a death free from cruelty, and
the right to veterinary help by Pennsylvania law.
It is incumbent upon Blair County voters to remove from office anyone who by their
actions or inactions condones animal cruelty and abuse and punishes those who seek
to help these animals. This includes Judge Elizabeth Doyle and DA Richard Consiglio.
Martin Luther King, Jr. stated that "noncooperation with evil is just as much a
moral obligation as is cooperation with good."  And Thoreau stated "Under a government
which imprisons unjustly, the true place for a just man is also a prison...where
the state places those who are not with her, but against her-the only house in
a slave state in which a free man or woman can abide with honor."
The only way for me to maintain a clear conscience is to choose prison as punishment
for my crime. I hereby request that Judge Doyle jail me for however many days I
should be imprisoned for the taking of a piece of property who's value, while stated
in the misdemeanor charges at 0-$50, after vet fees was more like negative $960.65.
However, as one of our supporters said, Doogie's freedom from abuse and restoration
