here is some info from messages I just sent to Bill & Agnes that gives some of the BEST websites
to keep up the struggle for FREEDOM & FREE Speech on the internet
b4 the BIG Media & their FCC & Political sellout pal$ steal & block the activist & progressive sites from us,,,,,,,,
not to mention how closely the issue is re: $hrubCo's
illegal wiretapping & other abuse$ of power in government that worm$ it's way around & under American safetyguards such as REAL oversight,
as we trade our free Speech for "SO-CALLED Security"....
that only gives more power to politician$ and helps their campaign $peeches while doing little OR nothing for real security & Freedom.
The following are some of the best places to start or join in learning & stopping the ways
Big Media & their pal$ rig the rules to block & deflect common decent citizens from using the web for progressive defense of freedom & political truth:
This REALLY worries me;;;
it erodes the promise of the internet as the most powerful free speech tool in history
with it's ability to allow REAL, common folks of ALL lands to cross political boundaries & go beyond the old, national hate-alliances so as to tell the truth of the people--
especially in situations where countries are known to crush free speech.
One of the big issues I'm staying abreast of is the NET Neutrality issue that keeps BIG Media & Internet provider companies from "oh-so-sly manipulation of the web," such as blocking progressive sites or making them so slow to connect
that we activists cannot connect to dialogue or do politically important work for free speech, ECOLOGY, HUMAN rights AND speaking truth to power.
I highly recommend these groups, --- please check them out & send them to all your activist pals :
1) The EFF @http://www.eff.org/ ...they are the Electronic Frontier Foundation: a group of FREE Speech and internet rights activists yet are also TOP level Silicon Valley experts and lawyers who frequently get on PBS & such---
often making headlines as they fight the court$, politicians & the FCC on rules that weaken the internet for common folk by allowing ISP's & Big Media to rig trick-legislation that does nasty things like block hot topics in progressive politics by shutting down access to the best blogs & activist sites ; the EFF also fights for individuals who are screwed by big Media's grip on the government & FCC...
checkout their site & read their take on the battle for Net Equality (NET Neutrality) & other progressive, free speech issues.
2) GLOBAL Internet Liberty Campaign:http://www.gilc.org/ ...these folks have an EXCELLENT "mission statement" for freedom: "The Global Internet Liberty Campaign advocates:
Prohibiting prior censorship of on-linecommunication.
Requiring that laws restricting the content of on-line speech distinguish between the liability of content providers and the liability of data carriers.
Insisting that on-line free expression not be restricted by indirect means such as excessively restrictive governmental or private controls over computer hardware or software, telecommunications infrastructure, or other essential components of the Internet.
Including citizens in the Global Information Infrastructure (GII) development process from countries that are currently unstable economically, have insufficient infrastructure, or lack sophisticated technology.
Prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.
Ensuring that personal information generated on the GII for one purpose is not used for an unrelated purpose or disclosed without the person's informed consent and enabling individuals to review personal information on the Internet and to correct inaccurate information.
Allowing on-line users to encrypt their communications and information without restriction."
3)Tor :http://tor.eff.org/overview.html.en ..."Tor is a network of virtual tunnels that allows people and groups to improve their privacy and security on the Internet.
It also enables software developers to create new communication tools with built-in privacy features.
Tor provides the foundation for a range of applications that allow organizations and individuals to share information over public networks without compromising their privacy.
Individuals use Tor
to keep websites from tracking them & their family members,
or to connect to news sites, instant messaging services, or the like when these are blocked by their local Internet providers.
hey yall, go click these 3 links to add international pressure against the blood-thirsty Iranian government who, among other things, actually intends to kill 3 women and one is even death by stoning----how barbaric can they get??
" Please continue to speak out about the injustice to which young Delara has been subjected.
Please sign the petitionobjecting to her execution and ask your family, friends, co-workers, members of your church, school, and community to do the same.
Please keep young Delara Darabi in your thoughts and prayers. Please keep Delara in your hearts....

Well,,, Yesterday, federal officials announced their proposal to remove federal protections for gray wolves in the Northern Rockies -- a plan that could lead to the slaughter of hundreds of wolves. Take action now --
Tell Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne that you’re outraged by this ill-conceived proposal!
hey yall, if ur familiar with the injustice of the Linda Loaiza rape case in Venezuela, u should get familiar with this .org that fights for gender rights:: http://www.ippfwhr.org/programs/program_gbv_e.asp ....from their latest update to this long case:
"After a very long delay, the Seventh Tribunal of Justice in Caracas, Venezuela has finally published the verdict in the case against Linda Loaiza’s accused attacker, Luis Carrera Almoina. As expected, it is far too light for the crimes he committed against Linda, and we are outraged that justice has not been served.
The official verdict is that Carrera Almoina is guilty only of severe assault and deprivation of liberty, rather than the full charges of attempted homicide, rape and torture that he was on trial for, despite clear evidence to the contrary...."
hey yall, I'm passing on a piece you might have already read, but a rape-victim's life is at stake due to INSANE, childish, selfish, mideast SHARIA Laws.....
Pass this to everyone u know. peace thru vigilance, rob =][=
Dear Friends,
I have just read and signed the online petition:
"Save Nazanin"
hosted on the web by PetitionOnline.com, the free online petition service, at:
I personally agree with what this petition says, and I think you might agree, too. If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and consider signing yourself.
The antiabortion license plates had been thrown out by a lower court, after abortion-rights groups complained that the state refused to issue "Choose Choice" plates. "Although this exercise of government one-sideness with respect to a very contentious political issue may be ill-advised, we are unable to conclude that the Tennessee statute contravenes the First Amendment," said Judge John Rogers of the 6th U.S. Court of Appeals in Cincinnati.
The proceeds from the sales of these license plates will go to adoption services.
As noted at Broadsheet, it'd be nice if those funds also were targeted toward providing contraceptive services to low-income women, but we can't be having that.
Providing contraception to single women just promotes promiscuity, don't you know.
Seriously, if they could legislate chastity belts for all single women and gay men, they would."
Today, March 8, marks International Women’s Day, for nearly a century an occasion on which women’s rights activists celebrate achievements in the struggle for gender equality. On this occasion, Human Rights First announces its new focus on women human rights defenders. By supporting activists who stand up for women’s rights, we can help win the struggle for gender equality.
Today, please take action to protect Lydia Cacho Ribeiro, president of the Women’s Assistance Center in Cancun, Mexico.
In December 2005, she was charged with criminal defamation and jailed for several days after implicating prominent businessmen in a child pornography ring.
