Friday's French Open schedule features the men's singles semifinals with four of the best players in the world in action.

The 2012 French Open is nearing a conclusion, but before a men's champion can be crowned, the final must be set. Thursday's semifinal matchups are not short on big names as four of the best players in the world will vie for a spot in Sunday's final.

In the first semifinal, No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic will face off against No. 3 seed Roger Federer. The two met in the semifinals of the 2011 French Open with Federer winning 3-2. This will be the 26th time the two have met and the 10th time they faced off in a Grand Slam event. Federer holds a 14-11 advantage all-time against Djokovic.

In the other semifinal, defending French Open champion Rafael Nadal will attempt to return to the final when he faces No. 6 seed David Ferrer. Ferrer eliminated No. 4 seed Andy Murray in the quarterfinals. This will be the 20th time Nadal and Ferrer have faced off with Nadal winning 15 of the previous 19 matches.

Television coverage of Friday's semifinal matches will begin at 7 a.m. ET on the Tennis Channel. Coverage will shift to NBC at 11 a.m. ET.

Euro 2012 begins on Friday, and it’s easily one of the most exciting tournaments outside of the World Cup.

There is going to be plenty of action and a lot of intrigue as the top international squads from the continent gather in Ukraine and Poland to determine which country is superior at football.

We’ll see traditional powerhouses and favorites—such as Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, England, France and Italy—go against upstarts and hopeful contenders—teams like Denmark, Croatia, Russia, Ukraine and Poland.

Spain is the defending 2008 Euro Cup champions and is also coming off an impressive World Cup victory in 2010. They are easily the most dominant team in the world, but could be ripe for an upset once they get into the knockout rounds.

Kevin Durant's game-deciding three-pointer in Game 4 may be this postseason's most defining moment yet—but it was Russell Westbrook's 10-point fourth quarter that made such a shot even thinkable. With the Los Angeles Lakers seemingly on their way to a second consecutive victory, the Oklahoma City Thunder rode a 22-8 fourth-quarter run to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the series.

Westbrook and Durant will follow up their combined 68-point masterpiece in Oklahoma City, with a chance to cut short Kobe Bryant's hopes for a sixth title.

It's beginning to look more and more like the Thunder have replaced the Lakers as the Western Conference's other team to beat, joining the streaking San Antonio Spurs. Still, if there's any team that can stay alive when the odds aren't in their favor, it's the team with Kobe Bryant on it.

If you had told Philadelphia 76ers fans in April that their team would be tied at two games apiece in the Eastern Conference semifinals, they probably wouldn't have appreciated your sense of humor.

And yet, Doug Collins' young team has accomplished just that.

They could pull a few more surprises if the Boston Celtics are unable to hold on to home-court advantage in an absolutely pivotal Game 5.

Sure, Philadelphia had some help getting to this point. Injuries to Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah undoubtedly made the first round an exponentially more surmountable challenge.

But the resilient 76ers rallied to put a damper on those plans, and what happens next in this series is anyone's guess. Conventional wisdom suggests that Boston won't make the same mistakes twice, but Philadelphia may have something to say about that.
