Watch Erik Morales vs Danny Garcia live Boxing on Saturday, March 24th, 35-year-old WBC light welterweight champion Erik Morales (52-7, 36 KO’s) makes his long awaited first and likely his only title defense against unbeaten #4 WBC contender Danny Garcia (22-0, 14 KO’s) at the Reliant Arena, in Houston, Texas. Morales didn’t impress in winning the World Boxing Council title last September in defeating 22-year-old Pablo Cesar Cano by a 10th round stoppage.

Morales will be making his first defense of his WBC belt he won last September against fringe contender Pablo Cesar Cano in a 10th round stoppage. Morales looked old, flabby around the midsection, and not nearly the fighter he once was 10 years ago when he was battling Marco Antonio Barrera. This could be Morales’ only defense of his title, because Garcia may have too much youth, speed, power and size for Morales in this fight. Morales was at his best when he was fighting in the super bantamweight division [122lbs].

This is your veteran hall of fame fighter, Erik Morales, taking on the youthful Danny Garcia who still hasn’t been beaten in what could be the fight of the year when it is all over. He had 36 of those wins by knockout and is a four-division title holder which definitely gives him a little edge in experience. The #3 ranked World Boxing Council contender and rightful opponent Garcia had an impressive victory against a former titleholder, Kendall Holt, on October 15, 2011 in Los Angeles on the same fight card as Bernard Hopkins and Chad Dawson. That is how he is the guy that earned this spot, and anyone that has made a Bet on Boxing realizes this. This young buck looks to be the next in line for a title, but this is another big fight that nobody can take lightly. Morales may be 35 years old, but this is a champion title holder many times over.
