I received this link from Political Watch Dog, Its very improtant that we watch out for people who want to medicate our children for their own gain and not because the child has real problems.  We have become a society that rushes to drug our children when they may not need to be. Allot of these drugs can cause serious problems and even suicide for children that don't need them and in some cause even in children who do.  Please watch video.

Texas

Dog Scent Evidence Challenged Bloodhound

Two lawsuits in Texas allege that dog scent evidence implicated innocent people for crimes they didn’t commit. Both men have been cleared, but their suits allege that a dog handler provided questionable evidence to implicate them. 

Dog scent evidence has been involved in at least three wrongful convictions overturned by DNA testing. A report on dog scent evidence and wrongful convictions is scheduled to appear on Anderson Cooper 360 tonight on CNN.

Two Freed After 20 Years

Ronald Kitchen and Martin Reeves were freed in Chicago on July 7 after spending 21 years in prison for murders they’ve always said they didn’t commit. Kitchen says he falsely confessed after officers allegedly beat him during an interrogation.

DNA Evidence Found After 20 Years

Shane Sebastian Davis has spent nearly two decades behind bars for a murder he says he didn’t commit. DNA evidence from the crime scene — previously believed to be lost or destroyed — has been located. 

Davis’ attorneys, working with the Griffith University Innocence Project - a member of the Innocence Network, are seeking testing on the evidence.

Drew Whitley

An exhibition of paintings by artist Dan Bolick is currently on display at the Westmoreland Museum in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Bolick painted large portraits of 10 people who were exonerated after spending years in prison. Above is his painting of Pennsylana exoneree Drew Whitley.

Medical Alert  on Behalf of the Leonard Peltier Defense Offense
Committee:

"I received a disturbing call from Leonard today.  As we know,
Leonard has had a scare with prostate cancer.  He is now having
blood in his urine and he desperately needs to have an oncologist
examine him. A general practitioner operating in the prison system
is not sufficient; he needs to be seen by a specialist.

Your support with letters and phone calls to the proper officials is
greatly needed at this time.  The urgency is due to his previous
scare of cancer. Only a specialist can determine the state of
his health.  According to his medical he is supposed to receive
an exam every three months, but according to Leonard he has only
been seen once a year.  How can this be? As everyone knows one
examination can give you warning, anyone who has had a prognosis
or scare with prostate cancer, you need to see an oncologist and
be examined regularly.

He has never received proper medical attentions for his medical
problems, unless this problem is addressed by his supporters he
will not get this matter taken care of.  As we found when he did not
have his diabetic supplies last year, until the outcry was so great.
Then they could not deny him.

Please ask the warden at Lewisburg Prison to give Leonard Peltier
the proper medical attention he has the right to.

Closing mental hospitals resulted in substantial profits to prison investors.  About 1.25 million prisoners who might have been hospital inpatients 30 years ago are presently prison inmates, instead.  It is actually bad business to treat mental patients for their dysfunctions, because to do so decreases their profitabality.  Therefore, rather than treating mentally ill inmates, many times such prisoners are incarcerated in conditions that are guaranteed to exacerbate their illness.  Such sick Americans are regularly subjected to years of solitary confinement and torture through gassing, Tasering, and use of restraint chairs and tables.  Even healthy minds might break under such torture, so this is a very smart way to keep sick people sick while keeping the portfolios of prison profiteers very healthy.

Jeremy was kept naked in solitary confinement in a space slightly larger than a closet for four years, called "the hole," because he did not know how to "act right" in jail.  While living as a trapped animal for four years, Jeremy lost 60 pounds and his ability to speak in whole sentences.  Jeremy got so deranged that he was eventually transferred to a mental hospital, but he is now back in prison and again condemned to the hole.
