Dear Friends,

I have created my first petition on a subject that is near & dear to my heart.  As some of you know, I live with a mental illness.  This illness has taken a great toll on myself & my family.  When I became aware of the fact that "The rate of suicide among older adults is higher than that for any other age group and among those 85 years and older, is the highest rate of all.  Nearly 7,000 older adults died by suicide in 2004, the most recent statistics available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention," it broke my heart.

I sincerely hope that you will support this petition by signing it and forwarding it to EVERYONE on your friends list.  Our country needs to do something today to protect the ones that we love.  Please help make this petition a success.  If we do not stand up to protect our parents, grandparents, etc., who will?

Take Action to Prevent Senior Suicide

Thank you & God Bless,

Christine
