San Diego Juvenile Court
The San Diego Juvenile Courts have become very corrupted! The county doesn't care about how the kids are treated while incarcerated. The past two months the juvenile facilities have been way overcrowded, so overcrowded that have had to put kids into maxium security unit to wait for placement elsewhere. The juvenile courts are getting ridiculous! They are abusing the kids by not allowing them to go to the restroom when needed. They urinate on themselves and then get written up for it. Some kids in East Mesa facility have been beaten by staff! East Mesa is located in Otay Mesa near the border and sits next door to Donovan Prison. I have written to the county many times addressing my concerns to Dianne Jacob, and no response from her or anyone else! They just don't care. Medications is another issue! They give children psych drugs without asking the parents, or meds that are not meant for children such as Seroquel. Seroquel in children can cause extreme violent reactions which can put them back in custody! Many doctors are now taking children off of this drug! There are other drugs also like Paxil, Wellbutrin, Zoloft, etc. The court suggests the parents have no rights to say anything about what they should do with their children. Why? The court says a ward belongs to the court and probation decides what is best! How about school? The kids in custody lose credits for school, and some even get sarbed after they go home because the school district thinks they just weren't in school for a month!. There are also no special ed accomodations for the children who have learning disabilities! No one to one, and one shoe fits all! The Federal Law States that all children shall have a "home like environment" while incarcerated! Juvenile Court is breaking Federal Law, and the 504 ACT! IEP's are not done with the parents present! Thats funny because the rules and policies of juvenile probation states that IEP's are given through all the facilities and that the parents are invited to attend their childs IEP! Well, thats alot of crock! They call the parents on the phone and send them an IEP to sign in the mail! Childrens rights are being violated everyday! Children as young as 8 years old are being shackled, pepper sprayed, and beaten up, sexually abused, by inmates and staff. While the truth tends to tell itself, some parents are reluctant to stand up and say anything, in fear their child will be hurt, by inmates or staff, and even probation! Dianne Jacob County Supervisor, Greg Cox, and Ron ROberts have been informed over and over again about the horrible situation concerning juvenile hall, camps, group homes. Why doesn't child protective services step in? Children are being used as a commodity for the county to make money off of, while parents and families suffer! Parents losing their section 8 housing and having to pay back thousands! The cost of juvenile maintenance and care is quite expensive! $1500.00 a month for juvenile camp, 2500.00 a month for home supervision with an anklet. 1300.00 home supervision, and attorney fees, and fines! People are losing their homes over this horiifying system they call juvenile court! A racket, a money maker for the county! Why not build a separate building for kids with disabilities? The Governor has now signed another o.k. for a new juvenile facility to be built in North Park area! The more kids the more money! By the way where are the millions of dollars going to?? Who can account for where it is being spent? Maybe thats why the Board Of Supervisors is trying to avoid this situation? They are afraid someone will find out something corrupt! Where the money is really going! The judges, prosecuters, and the D.A. work together to incarcerate every child they can, even for something dumb! My son was arrested for being out of school three weeks with walking pneumonia! Even juvenile hall said he was very sick, and the judge didn't care! More money? Parents we need you to e-mail usif you have a kid who has been or is incarcerated now! I want to know about any abuse to your kid! My organization can help you and your child! We use many resources, such as news media, news papers, other parents supporting you through court and explaining the system to you and how you can over ride them! F.A.C.C. is fighting hard for the rights of all children ! Won't you join in and help! DOn't let the Juvenile Court take your home away!
