Seal Hunt Protest - MEDIA EVENT
Date: Thursday, March 15
Location: Vancouver Art Gallery (Robson & Hornby)
Meeting Time: 11:45 am

Please get the day off work/school!!  As Canadians it is very important that we stand up against our own government for subsidizing the world's biggest wildlife slaughter.  The entire world is shaking its head at us because of this extremely shameful ritual.

Activists must dress in all black for this protest.  We will meet at 11:45a.m. right outside the Art Gallery (on the Robson St side).  We will depart the Art Gallery at 12 SHARP in a funeral procession.  Please be on time, or early because the procession will not wait for late comers. Activists will each pick up a coffin and walk in single file.  We will cross much of downtown during lunch hour so it is important that we have a lot of people to make a long procession. The procession will end in front of the DFO (department of fisheries and oceans) and we will deliver the coffins to their door.   A protest will continue in front of the DFO.  If you have children who will not be at school that day, please bring them along too.  We need children dressed in black to lay flowers on the coffins in front of the DFO.   It will draw a lot of media attention if we can get the children.   Please let me know if you are able to attend.

Dogs and Cats Skinned Alive for Their Fur in China
By Gary Feuerberg
Epoch Times Washington, D.C. Staff
Feb 20, 2007

China has become the world's largest exporter of fur garments in just a few years. Many of the international fur traders, manufacturers, and fashion designers have shifted their business to China, where they can exploit China's cheap labor and the absence of restrictive animal welfare regulations.

China's new ascendance in the fur market-fur trade production and retail-comes with a heavy price for the fur-bearing animals. China apparently has no laws in place to regulate the confinement and slaughter of the raccoon dogs, foxes, minks, rabbits, and even dogs and cats, whose fur is responsible for a highly profitable industry. While conditions of fur farms in the West have been subjected to criticism by animal rights groups, Chinese fur farms and slaughter methods have been alleged to be far more shocking and brutal.

China's fur industry has developed across numerous fur farms over the last 12 years. China's farms number as many as 10,000, where 90% of the skins come from farms with fewer than 50 females, according to the China Leather Industry Association, cited in a report published by Swiss Animal Protection (SAP), Care for the Wild, and East International, (henceforth, called the "SAP report") in January 2005 and updated last month.

Fur farms tend to be concentrated in China's North East. Fur farms in Shandong province hold the highest number of animals, followed by Heilongjiang province and then Jilin province. Hebei province acts as the hub for the marketing of fur. At the Shangcun Market in Hebei province, 35 million fur skins are traded each year, which accounts for over 60% of China's pelt trade. The above information is taken from Chinese industry sources cited in the SAP report.

It was in the Shangcun Market that a 14-minute video was secretly produced in February 2005 by the Swiss Animal Protection SAP which shows the skinning of raccoon dogs, foxes and other animals that are still alive and even struggling (see http://www.animal-protection.net. WARNING: Images may be disturbing to some viewers).

An investigative reporter from the Beijing News observed conditions at the Shangcun Market two months after the video was on the Internet and the report appeared in the online version, April 5, 2005. A spokesperson from the county's Communist Party Committee propaganda department was quoted as saying that the live skinning took place seven or eight years ago but could not happen now. However, the reporter for the Beijing News confirmed that skinning alive of most animals at this largest of fur markets in China was still going on even after it had been exposed earlier.

Slaughtering the Fur Animals in China

The animals are immobilized by being stunned with repeated blows to the head, or by being slammed on the ground. The animals are injured and may convulse, tremble or attempt to crawl away, says the SAP report-this is also shown repeatedly in the video. The skinning may begin while the animal is conscious or regaining consciousness.

"Desperate and writhing in agony, animals conscious during these procedures hopelessly try to defend themselves even to the point where all the skin had been forced off .breathing, heart beat.and eyelid movements were evident for 5 to 10 minutes," describes the SAP report of the video and photos.

The International Fur Trade Federation (ITIF), of which China is a member, deplored the SAP report, arguing that it made sweeping generalizations about the conditions in all of China. "It is wrong to portray all fur farming as the same in China," said the IFTF. Some fur farms are run to western standards, said the ITIF. Conditions will improve for animal welfare in China when fur farmers come to realize that the quality of the pelts improve by employing western standards of animal welfare, and that through education, the situation will correct itself-this is the gist of the ITIF's response.

Fur Trim in Fashion

The fur garments are most commonly sold in the U.S., Europe or Japan as fur-trim on coats, gloves, purses, toys, trinkets, and even furniture. By mixing fur with silk, wool, suede and leather, and employing new manufacturing processes, such as shearing and knitting, and new fashionable colors, fur has attained a new novelty and versatility, according to sources cited in a Care for the Wild International (CWI) report.

"Overall, fur was displayed in greater numbers than in previous years, coming in all colors, shapes and sizes," commented a CNN report on fur's popularity on runways during New York's Fashion Week in February 2005. However, consumers may not have noticed the large increase of fur use in fashion today, because fur-trim is much less conspicuous than the expensive full-length fur coats worn in the past, added that most people would be too embarrassed to wear those today.

U.S. fur sales in 2003 were $1.8 billion, according to the Fur Information Council of America, cited by CWI. "China has become the leading fur garment exporter to the USA, accounting for 40% of total US imports in 2004-the equivalent of $7.9 million," according to the SAP report. However, exact import statistics are difficult to obtain because fur trimmings are not specifically declared to customs, says the SAP report.

Protests Staged in Washington and 35 Cities Worldwide

The Anti-Fur Society of Washington, D.C.-a member of the International Anti-Fur Coalition-disapproves of the cramped wire cages that leave almost no room for the animal to move about. In these cramped quarters, the animals show signs of extreme anxiety and pathological behaviors, according to a report by CWI. The Anti-Fur Society of Washington, D.C. especially objects to the slaughter methods, including the skinning of the animals alive, "which makes China's fur industry the most barbaric in the world," says their press release. Their membership find these practices highly disturbing and horrifying.

The group is also appalled at the frequent use of domestic dog and cat fur. Although against U.S. law, a loophole in customs law and mislabeling permits their use in the U.S., they say. Fur items priced at less than US$150 are not checked by Customs for truthful labeling upon entry. The group contends that unsuspecting customers are purchasing items with dog and cat fur. They claim that even Burlington Coat Factory, Macy's, JC Penny, Nordstrom, Saks and Barneys are selling dog fur as the fur from another species or even labeled as "faux fur."

A UK-based charity, Care for the Wild International (CWI), reported that on Nov 20, 2006, the E.U. banned imports of pelts of dogs and cats. The CWI stated that 5,400 dogs and cats are slaughtered every day in China. "Chinese suppliers offered us entire sheets made of dozens and dozens of cat skins-all in matching color patterns of tabby, ginger, black and white or tabby and white," says Dr Barbara Maas, CWI's Chief Executive.

To protest China's alleged inhumane methods for fur industry animals, members of the Anti-Fur Society of Washington, D.C. on February 13 carried a symbolic casket across the Taft Memorial Bridge, followed by a funeral for the animal victims of the Chinese fur trade in front of the Chinese Embassy at 2300 Connecticut Ave. This demonstration at the Chinese Embassy was one of many that occurred on the same day in over 35 cities worldwide.   The documentary of the gruesome slaughter methods in the Shangcun Market made by the Swiss Animal Protection is often mentioned by the protesters as graphic proof of the barbarity of China's fur industry.

In Switzerland and several European countries, fur farming has been banned due to considerations for the humane treatment of animals. "In their lives and their unspeakable deaths, these animals have been denied the simplest acts of kindness," writes the investigator of the SAP report on conditions of the Chinese fur farms.

GREAT NEWS RELATED TO THE EFFORTS OF THE INTERNATIONAL ANTI-FUR COALITION.
Israeli chief rabbi issues fur edict
(Reuters)                                                                                     20 February 2007
JERUSALEM - Jews must not wear fur skinned from live animals, Israel's chief rabbi said in a religious ruling on Tuesday.     All Jews are obliged to prevent the horrible phenomenon of cruelty to animals and be a 'light onto nations' by refusing to use products that originate from acts which cause such suffering,' Rabbi Yona Metzger said.  Animal rights campaigners in Israel and abroad say that animals are skinned alive at fur farms in China.   Metzger issued the edict in response to an appeal by an Israeli legislator who looked into the reports of animal cruelty in China at the request of a constituent. Click on the link for more:    http://www.khaleejtimes.com/DisplayArticleNew.asp?xfile=data/middleeast/2007/February/middleeast_February329.xml&section=middleeast&col

Animal lovers in China win extra life for 400 Chinese cats - YES!  Animal groups are gaining strength in China.  We need to support them!

China's nascent animal rights movement claimed a rare and bloody victory today after rescuing more than 400 cats that were about to be slaughtered for their fur and meat.   The felines were saved from a market in Tianjin after a standoff last week between 100 pet lovers and police that left one protester hospitalised.   Until recent years, respect for animal rights was almost non-existent in China, where dogs, cats, birds, lizards and turtles are often displayed in cramped market cages, before being slaughtered - sometimes by being beaten to death.   Click on the link to learn more:

This note comes from our colleagues in Belgium, but this has already happened recently in the Netherlands, and Sweden where large department stores went fur free because of the pressure by anti-fur activists.  Activists are working fiercely in London to get Harrods to go fur free.
"Dear activists,
Today came the very good news from the CEO from the international fashion chains McGregor and Gaastra, that they stop selling fur from the new autumn/winter collection 2007!!! Since January we did weekly actions in front of their stores in several Belgian cities.  We never expected that they would go fur free so fast. They have 3000 multi-brand shops in Europe and 182 shops-in-the-Shops...very soon fur free!"

Embattled fur store closing for good in Portland, Oregon!

Associated Press                                                                                                          February 20, 2007

PORTLAND, Ore. - Schumacher Furs & Outerwear, a magnet for anti-fur protesters, is going out of business after 112 years.

Owner Gregg Schumacher had sought to relocate to the suburbs after protesters made a weekly habit of demonstrating outside the downtown Portland store. But in an announcement Monday, Schumacher said the activists stifled those plans by using a "targeted intimidation campaign" to persuade suburban mall managers to cancel lease agreements.  Managers at two suburban malls - Bridgeport Village and Washington Square - disagreed with Schumacher's statement.

Jonae Armstrong, senior property manager at Washington Square in Tigard, said the mall received a couple of e-mails opposing the fur store, but they "in no way influenced our decision" to reject Schumacher's requests to lease retail space.

Bob Dye, general manager of Bridgeport Village, told The Oregonian that mall managers met with Schumacher, but there was nothing close to an agreement. The handful of e-mails mall officials received were mostly polite and didn't come into play, Dye said.   "We decided that at this point and time that it was not a good fit," he said.

Matt Rossell, a Northwest outreach coordinator for In Defense of Animals, denied that the group mounted an organized campaign to stop Schumacher from moving to the suburbs. "If there was a campaign, I would have certainly known about it," he said.   In the past 14 months, Schumacher became the most fiercely protested fur trader in America, Schumacher repeatedly blamed Portland's politicians and police for not protecting the business.

Though most agree that animal-rights activists have tested the limits of free speech during their Saturday demonstrations - and at times broke laws - city officials have said Schumacher and his wife, Linda, carry much of the responsibility for what happened, click here for more:  http://www.statesmanjournal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=200670220003

Survey shows 93% refuse to wear real fur in Wales

Publisher:  Pam Caulfield

The survey comes at the start
of London Fashion Week

93 percent of the public say they refuse to wear real fur but just 43 percent always check labels to see if the fur they buy is real or fake, according to a new RSPCA-commissioned survey released today.  The new TNS opinion poll reveals public attitudes towards fur at the start of this week's London Fashion Week.   Fashion designer Wayne Hemingway said, "The idea of wearing fur is disgusting, and the thought of anyone draping themselves in the skins of dead animals in the belief that it makes them look beautiful is beyond belief."

"We are not in the Stone Age, there is no need for real fur; fashion designers don't need to use it and people don't need to wear it. You can look just as good wearing fake fur, which is now so realistic it's extremely hard to tell the difference. Real fur looks much better on the animal it came from."

Australia --  Animal rights groups call for Olympic boycott

February 13, 2007 01:31pm                                                                         Article from: AAP

ANIMAL liberation groups are urging people to boycott the Beijing Olympics because of the treatment of animals in China's fur industry.

A small but vocal group from the Anti-Fur Coalition gathered in a peaceful demonstration outside the Chinese Consulate in Melbourne's inner east this morning.  It was one of 30 protests staged worldwide today as part of an International Day of Protest Against Chinese Fur.

Danielle Archer, a spokeswoman for the group, said the purpose of the gathering was to encourage people to boycott the Beijing Olympics because of the "horrific abuse'' of animals in China.   "We're asking people to boycott the 2008 Olympics in China, we're asking people to boycott Chinese tourism as well,'' she said.

Finally, I wish to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your compassion towards fur bearing animals which would be in a far worse situation without your love and support.

Operation: Helter Skelter - Puppy Killers NOT Welcome on Wall St.

WAR LAUNCHES
OPERATION: HELTER SKELTER
"LSR Puppy Killers NOT Welcome on Wall Street"

1st Weekend of Action
 January 20 & 21, 2007

Huntingdon Life Sciences (HL trading under the ticker symbol LSR, is a company whose primary business is death and suffering. 500 animals are killed there every day to test products like toothpaste and tanning lotion. They are poisoned, they are cut and burned, they have limbs broken and on top of that they have to endure the cruelty of sadistic technicians who have been proven, in 5 undercover investigations and a recent whistleblower report, to abuse and torture the animals in their care.

Prior to December 22, 2006, HLS was not listed on any reputable exchange, had no market makers and was over $80 million in debt and losing customers and suppliers by the score. NYSE Arca listed LSR to protect the NYSE from threatened litigation. NYSE caved in to the pressure. Investors expect more from the NYSE. The public expects financial transparency, business integrity and high ethical standards from the NYSE. Instead NYSE made a deal that got them “off the hook” while betraying the public trust.

Win Animal Rights now declares WAR against those who would enable the killing at HLS/LSR to continue unabated. The NYSE and anyone connected to it, including: staff, market makers, specialists, investors, and support organizations are all legitimate focal points of this educational information campaign. We will bring our message to where they work, where they live and where they spend their leisure time.

(Un message en français suivre...)

Dear Friend,

Your kind support helped Global Action Network achieve so many victories for animals in 2006!

In the winter, Global Action Network convinced 300 clothing stores across Canada to stop selling cruel fur products. Thanks to your generosity, GAN helped seize dogs en route to slaughter, stolen by dog meat traders in the Philippines. We played a central role in documenting the cruel commercial seal hunt in 2006 – braving hostile sealers and extreme weather conditions off the east coast to show the world the brutal reality of Canada’s commercial seal hunt. And our Emergency Animal Fund was stretched to the limit this year, as we rescued countless orphaned wild animals – from raccoons to birds to squirrels. Following intensive fostering and rehabilitation, these wonderful creatures have been returned to the wild.

I know the year ahead promises to bring even more victories. Will you stand alongside Global Action Network as we continue our vital work to protect animals in 2007?

I hope I can count on you to make a special New Year's gift for the animals.

With your support, we will:
  • Keep up the pressure on the fur industry by lobbying more Canadian retailers to go fur free.
    • Launch a groundbreaking, national campaign to shut down foie gras factory farms in Quebec, exposing a brutal industry that force-feeds ducks until their livers swell up to 10 times their normal size.
    • Rescue more victims of the Philippines dog meat trade, and work towards ending this brutal industry for good.
    • Work to end Canada's commercial seal hunt forever by documenting the brutality of the slaughter and exposing the facts of the hunt to the Canadian media and government.

Your donation will help ensure that we keep up the surveillance, keep up the prosecutions and keep up the pressure on the politicians. Just $20 will help us to buy vital camera equipment to continue our investigations. $35 can help to secure a happy ending for a rescued dog. $100 helps us to bring our evidence to politicians and media to create permanent change.

On behalf of our staff and many volunteers, thank you for your continued commitment to the animals.

For the animals,

Andrew Plumbly
Director

International Protest against Fur

Tuesday, February 13, 2007 from 3 pm to 5 pm, outside the Chinese Consulate Office at 3380 Granville Street and 16th in Vancouver.

Please donate two hours of your time to come to the Chinese Consulate and protest against the bloody fur trade in China. It's important to send a strong message to China to stop importing and selling cat and dog fur in other countries.

For more information please contact Amy Shields at 778 371 9253 if you can attend.

2.  Reminder to write to Richmond

Don’t forget to urge Richmond Council to go cage-free (as per last action alert).  Contact details are below.

Richmond is gearing up to become the first city council in
Canada to go cage-free with respect to eggs, but they need your positive
encouragement right now. Not everyone on council is convinced that this
is a good idea (they don't think there is anything wrong with battery
cages), and the proposed policy could go either way at this point. Help
make sure council passes a resolution to ban the use of eggs from caged
hens.

City staff will most likely recommend council NOT to pass a policy
banning eggs from battery-caged hens. That’s why council needs to hear
from the public that they SHOULD stop using eggs from caged hens.

Background info:

- 98% of eggs in Canada come from hens in battery cages

- Battery cages are small wire cages were 5 to 7 hens are crammed so
tightly together that they can barely move let alone flap their wings

- There are viable alternatives readily available in Richmond, including
certified organic and free-range eggs, both of which are produced in
Richmond, too (so they would be supporting a local farmer)

For more information please visit

 Thank you for your support.

Sue Halsey-Brandt – Mostly supportive
Bill McNulty – Undecided, but leaning towards not supporting
Cynthia Chen – Undecided

Latest from Seal Alert
-------Original Message-------
Date: 1/9/2007 3:49:33 AM
Subject: Trying times lay ahead for Seal Alert-SA and the Seals
Dear All Cape Fur Seal Supporters,
I trust that you all had a terrific New Year, got some rest and are fighting fit.

Just before Christmas the Namibian published an article, that refutes the claims that the mass death of seals is directly and solely related to collapsed fisheries, and that it is the sealers that cause these seals to flee and then starve slowly to death. http://allafrica.com/stories/200612220200.html., an annual event.
Its been a trying time at the new centre. Lack of funding forced Seal Alert-SA to do things upside down, building pools for the pups first before doing other renovations. But, as things went, rust from the steel beams started falling with each wind and large pieces of wall started crumbling, but we battled through. I am been going flat out for the past 8 weeks solidly and I am exhausted.
I have lost track but about 65 weanlings fleeing from Namibia were rescued, thousands more could not be responded to and lost their lives. I have always prioritised my work in a seal-a-day rescue, and would always respond immediately, but for the first time I have to admit, many a seal could not be responded to and helped - there were just too many dying. Towards New Year, things just would not let up, besides the babies under care, some weanlings in the new centre and the "vegetable-coma" seal, I was left with about twenty weanlings being treated on my rafts. It soon dawned on me, that as I was saving these seals, they were not returning to the wild (therefore making space/funds available for more rescues), instead they were staying. It appears, as they have fled, they are now refugees and will need at least 12 months to establish new hunting grounds, which normally occurs during their weaning period with mom. This makes things difficult, as it increases my cost 4-fold and time.
Right now, after already losing 8 of the 11 babies, each one with such a will to keep living, dying long slow deaths - that I am almost 100% convinced it is the bonding (single surviving seal bonding issue). Half way through I thought we had a breakthrough by adding B6 to their B1 diet, but just when it looked promising, one died for no reason, except one could see the non-bonding becoming a factor. If I can get the last three or even two through, it will be a world first and worth all the effort, but it is still early days. We reached April last year, which is a long way away. The coma seal, after doing so well, as well died peacefully.
I have seen so much seal death this past few weeks that its disturbing, even the seabirds are dying like flies, dropping dead all over the place. Seal Alert-SA has a difficult position in trying to physically save an entire species, over a million seals in two countries with almost zero funding. I calculated in the very least (just on one seal-a-day rescues for the year) Seal Alert-SA incurs costs of about R250 000 annually (At R500 000 I would be 100% maximised). In 2006, including donations for Seal Centre (which has cost just over R70 000, with still another R50 000 to complete), I received just over R120 000 in total. Adding this all up, Seal Alert-SA's costs were R320 000 for 2006, with an income of R120 000. Nelda and I had to fund the rest. Clearly things have to change for I cannot possibly continue funding and doing the majority in trying to rescue not just 1000 seals, but the species.
Via Paola in Italy of OIPA, and her www.sealalertsa.net site, LA7 television in Italy has decided to do a program on the Namibian Seal Cull and Animals Voice Magazine has asked for an article. (see attached).
This year, if funding allows, I really want to make a big push for returning seals to the islands. I have great plans for the centre and believe that it is just what was needed. A base to mount all their campaigns, funding, rescues and responses from. Forgive me if I do not reply, although I read all emails, as centre is still very dusty and there is no phone-line, and as I leave home at 4-6am and return at 11-1am, the next few weeks I will try and update you where possible.
Finally from my fishing industry friends, I hear the government is slashing pelagic fish quotas by 20-40% and that sectors of fishing are closing, with pelagic fish now being caught in northern Africa (Morocco), cut and shipped to Taiwan, before being imported back into SA cheaper.
We really need to get seals back to their islands as nature intended. Rescue in Namibia is already not possible with hundreds of thousands requiring to be rescued, and even if you do save their lives initially, how do you rehab them to self-survival. South African situation is quickly becoming as severe. Empower me if possible, to undertake and do, what needs to be done. I know the world is filled with animal problems, but how many involves an entire species, involving hundreds of thousands annually. A specie, found nowhere else on earth, evolved off this coast 5 million years ago. If you can help, please do.
For the Seals
Francois Hugo Seal Alert-SA

ANTI-FUR DEMO

WHERE:   Chinese Embassy
                  2300 Connecticut Ave., NW,
Washington, DC 20008  (scroll down for directions)

WHEN:        Tuesday, February 13 at 11 am

In the third Millennium when people are striving to value all forms of life, cavemen practices should be left where they belong: THE STONE AGE.  Why do we focus on China?    Because China supplies 85% of all furs on the planet, and it has no animal protection laws whatsoever, and animals raised in that country experience cruelty that goes beyond human decency.  Let us tell China and the fur industry that gassing, annally electrocuting or skninning animals alive for coats, rugs and trinkets is NOT ACCEPTABLE.

This will be the third successful anti-fur demo held by the Anti-Fur Society at the Chinese Embassy, and we hope to count on your presence to speak out against the bloody fur trade on behalf of the defenseless.

This is an effort of the International Anti-Fur Coalition of which the Anti-Fur Society is a member.  If you would like to hold a demo to represent your city/country, together with all the organizations below,  please write to:   antifursociety@msn.com

===============================
Directions:

The Chinese Embassy is a couple of blocks from the Woodley Park Metro Station near the Washington Zoo.  It is also about 4 or 5 blocks from Dupont Circle, downtown Washington DC.   Both areas are served by the Red Line metro and several buses. Wherever you're coming from, just use Dupont Circle as a point of reference and go from there.  Parking in the area is very difficult although not impossible.  However, you will do better by using the abundant public transportation in the area, or just walk if you are not too far away!

Thank you so much for your compassion and I hope to see you there.

Hi Activists,

Here are fun and exciting events happening this week and beyond:

1. Take Down Toonie Tuesdays at KFC
Location: KFC (1147 Davie Street, Vancouver)

Date:  Every Tuesday
Time:  6pm - 8pm
As usual, we will be outside KFC on Davie Street leafleting and giving out free vegan samosas to people who boycott KFC.  This is a friendly and fun campaign that's been really effective.  Prior to this campaign, KFC customers lined up out the door every Tuesday to get their cheap chicken (which by the way, is not really that cheap if you are homeless or truly poor).  But now, KFC is practically emptied of customers every time we are out there.  Our free vegan samosa giveaway attracts more customers than KFC - we even have repeat customers!
For more info please visit: www.kentuckyfriedcruelty.com

2. bebe Stores Anti-Fur Outreach
Location: bebe Stores (corner of Robson & Burrard, downtown Vancouver)
Dates: Every Saturday & Sunday (throughout January)
Times: 3pm - 5pm
bebe sells horrendous things like fur-lined sweatshirts, fur coats, fur purses, fur key-chains and fur hats. We've been out in front of this store for 4 - 7 days a week since November and we've had tremendous support and response from all types of people.  The most important support we've gotten is from people who simply are not aware of the issue.   This year, everyone seems to be wearing little bits of fur, yet few of them know the cruelty behind this useless product.  Our presence at this busy street corner is raising a lot of awareness and we are constantly thanked by parents, kids, shoppers, men and women for showing them the truth.  Come out and join us, it is a tremendously empowering and fulfilling experience.
For more info please visit: www.furisdead.com

3.  Semi-Nude Anti-Fur Media Event
Location: Downtown, Vancouver
Date: Saturday, January 27, 2007

Time: 12 Noon
We are still in need of semi-nude activists for this media event.  Please send me an email if you wish to participate as a semi-nude activist.  For those of you who are not about to part with your ski jackets and scarves in the middle of the winter, I've got good news.  We are equally in need of fully-clothed activists to hand out leaflets and hold signs.  Details for this event will follow in a later email.

All outreach events are rain or shine.  Signs and leaflets are provided so just bring yourself and anyone you wish to invite.

Thanks for all you do for the animals!
