For a few years, I had the opportunity to work as an aide on the Special Needs school bus for my school district. Everyday I witnessed first-hand the incredible love and devotion the parents of Special Needs Children bestowed on their children. One day after a child with Downs Syndrome jumped off the bus into the arms of her mother, it dawned on me just how special these parents are. And in that moment, I thought there should be a National Day of Recognition For Parents of Special Needs Children.
Your help is needed to make this a reality. I call upon you, my readers, to contact your Congressional Representative and ask him or her to sponsor or support legislation to honor the Parents of Special Needs Children. In addition, please sign the petition a the web address below to show your support. Your name will be listed on the National Day of Recognition For Parents of Special Needs Children (NDRPSNC) petition page.
