Dear Friend,

Your kind support helped Global Action Network achieve so many victories for animals in 2006!

In the winter, Global Action Network convinced 300 clothing stores across Canada to stop selling cruel fur products. Thanks to your generosity, GAN helped seize dogs en route to slaughter, stolen by dog meat traders in the Philippines. We played a central role in documenting the cruel commercial seal hunt in 2006 – braving hostile sealers and extreme weather conditions off the east coast to show the world the brutal reality of Canada’s commercial seal hunt. And our Emergency Animal Fund was stretched to the limit this year, as we rescued countless orphaned wild animals – from raccoons to birds to squirrels. Following intensive fostering and rehabilitation, these wonderful creatures have been returned to the wild.

I know the year ahead promises to bring even more victories. Will you stand alongside Global Action Network as we continue our vital work to protect animals in 2007?

I hope I can count on you to make a special New Year's gift for the animals.

With your support, we will:
  • Keep up the pressure on the fur industry by lobbying more Canadian retailers to go fur free.
    • Launch a groundbreaking, national campaign to shut down foie gras factory farms in Quebec, exposing a brutal industry that force-feeds ducks until their livers swell up to 10 times their normal size.
    • Rescue more victims of the Philippines dog meat trade, and work towards ending this brutal industry for good.
    • Work to end Canada's commercial seal hunt forever by documenting the brutality of the slaughter and exposing the facts of the hunt to the Canadian media and government.

Your donation will help ensure that we keep up the surveillance, keep up the prosecutions and keep up the pressure on the politicians. Just $20 will help us to buy vital camera equipment to continue our investigations. $35 can help to secure a happy ending for a rescued dog. $100 helps us to bring our evidence to politicians and media to create permanent change.

On behalf of our staff and many volunteers, thank you for your continued commitment to the animals.

For the animals,

Andrew Plumbly

Andrew Plumbly

Subject:THE BOULEVARD HAS GONE TO THE DOGS
THE BOULEVARD HAS GONE TO THE DOGS 11:06 PM
INTERNATIONAL BOULEVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS HAS GONE TO THE DOGS. INTERESTING MATERIAL HAS BEEN SUPPLIED, NEITHER OF WHICH HAS BEEN READ OR COMMENTED UPON. IT WOULD APPEAR I AM "THE ODD MAN OUT."

BEING THE OPPORTUNIST THAT I AM, TOMORROW I SHALL OPEN A NEW THREAD. IT WILL BE FOR YOU TO LIST THE DONATIONS YOU HAVE MADE AS THE YEAR PROGRESSES, AND THE ANIMALS WHICH YOU HAVE ADOPTED FROM OUR ALERTS FOR THE WORK IN WHICH WE DO, AS WELL AS MEMBERSHIP TO VARIOUS NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. I HOPE THAT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE SEARCHED IN THE ARCHIVES.

MANY PEOPLE BELIEVE THE ORIGIN OF A MESSAGE STEMS FROM ME, WHEN IN ACTUALITY I AM SIMPLY TRANSMITTING. IN RETURN, I RECEIVE MESSAGES STATING THE DONATIONS YOU EITHER HAVE MADE OR WILL MAKE IN THE NEAR FUTURE. WE WILL OPERATE UNDER "HAVE MADE" ONLY. RATHER THAN THAT OF GOOD INTENTIONS, WHICH, MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, DO NOT REACH FRUITION.

SATISFACTORY?

YOU GO FIRST . . .
