This is one of the hardest things I have had to do, for normally I am the one offering the help whether it be to human or beast, but this time I am asking for help.

I do not want money, what I do want is to find a new career and quick.

My Story:

After 16 yrs of service with the Florida Department of Education, I returned home from North Carolina and attending my mother's funeral to receive a letter telling me as of October 4, 2013 (just after the Gov. Shutdown)  my services were no longer needed. Being a Select Exempt Employee for the State of Florida, no reason is needed to let me go.

I am devastated. Still grieving the loss of my mother only weeks earlier, on my 50th birthday, just one day after returning from North Carolina and attending my mother's funeral, I get a certified letter informing me I just went from making $46000.00 a yr to zip!  My heart literally stopped!

I am in dire need of employment and quick as I am at serious risk of losing my house and everything I own, to include my 4 horses and other rescued pets!

Though my most recent position was mainly internet and intranet related, I am also highly skilled in data entry, accounting, customer service, training others in Microsoft Office, Section 508 consulting and training, and all aspects of Administrative Assistant work.

I am very versatile and quick to learn new software and technologies. In the past, I have excelled from entry level positions into management positions, which is reflected in my Google work profile information. I believe my experiences and track record speak for themselves.

If anyone reading this, knows of an open position in either Florida (Tallahassee or surrounding areas)  or North Carolina (Preferably Hickory or Lenoir area)  please let me know or direct them to my Google+ page, where they can view my work experience and skill set.

Full Resume, Recommendation Letters, and References available.

Please direct any work information to my account and
bless you in advance.

I wanted to first Thank you all for the hordes of green stars! And to let you know why I have been gone for so long -
I have been facing some very major and serious family issues concerning my 19 year old daughter. I/We can use all the prayers we can get!

Also, a very close friend of ours was involved in a road rage incident - to make a long story short, some idiot shot a 357 magnum out of his car window into our friends truck, hitting his 12 year old daughter in head!  Last heard, she just started breathing on her own, but is still in serious condition. We can use prayers on this one as well. You can only imagine the devestation our friend is facing to have his daughter shot in the head and slump over in his lap
! This 12 year old girl is one of the sweetest, most helpful child you ever want to meet. She helped her dad, by feeding his over 40 head of horses when he had to work late and is a pure joy to be around (not one of these mouthy youngsters you see so many of these days). Kevin and I have offered to travel the 2 1/2 hours to feed his horses while he is visiting his daughter in the hospital in Dothan Alabama. So you can imagine that too is keeping me busy.

I hope that things settle down soon so that I can once again return to Care2 on a daily basis. For those of you interested, I am still planning on protesting the Barnum and Bailey Circus which is due to arrive here next month and promise to post photos!
For those of you who may have emailed me, or left messages in groups I frequent, I apologize for not answering you - I hope to be able to go through all my groups and emails this weekend at the latest (unless something else raises its ugly head!)

Please except this apology for my absence and know that I will be returning as soon as things settle down a bit. Please say a prayer for David's daughter (Rhonna), and for my daughter (Brandy) in that they both get the healing they so desperately need and deserve.

Hope to see you all real soon -
Love - Hugs

Thanks to antoher group member who has been trying desperately to get further information so we can help - I now have the following information:

Mary, This was just posted on nola. Evidently, they are paying the $200 ransom. Trying to get funds together to pay for transport. Will update as soon as I know something. Can I post your email address so you can be in direct contact with those girls?

Just received this email with specifics on how to help this horse:
"You can use this link (if you can use paypal) to send the money, mark the horses description on it!

Otherwise call Christy at Phone: 610-621-5290 leave her a message or email her

Each person can send some funds and mark them for the particular horse, she will go and get the horse from the broker and someone can arrange to pick him up. She is GREAT to work with...Christy Parker"

Also, I just received an email from the BITS cordinator, and I am correct, it would be FROM PA to FL.
Thanks to all who have been trying to help! I will continue to post informaiton as I receive it.

I just recieved the following email from Stormy's Foster Mom - Please Read, and pass on through your groups. This horse only has until tomorrow or she goes to slaughter!

There is something you could do for me.  We came across a mare that is going
to the NH meat auction tomorrow if she doesn't have a home by then.  We've
offered to pay her "ransome" of $200 if AC4H can find sponsor's for her
transportation to us and Christy at AC4H's is trying.  I don't know if you
pray or not, but if you do, please pray that this mare can find a way to us.
You can see her at - she's the Palomino Paint mare.
The look in her eyes says she's given up.  I think she needs us as much as
we need her right now - we miss our Frosty so much.

When going to the website above it took me some doing to find the Mares listing - so I decided to post it here as well:
Palomino Paint mare 2 blue eyes - aprox 14 hands smooth mouth top teeth are short eats grain and hay she is a been there done that mount rides alone respons to leg cues walk, trot and is quiet.

Here is the link to here photo:
I would take her in, but my barn is full, and my new adopted horse Stormy comes home Sunday!

Anyone interested in helping please contact me, and I can pass the information on to the BITS coordinator - which is who sent me the original email above.

I have been reading several threads of folks saying how much they love horses, but do not currently have one - here is a great place to start (for those seriously interested in owning a horse) -
Please make Adoption your first Option!

This is one of the best Horse Adoption sites I have found yet - and just so you know - Stormy is no longer available  He is coming home with me this coming Sunday    - and what an Awesome horse he is.

There are several older horses listed on this site for very small adoption fees - and most are still rideable! Along with a very nice 3 year old TB - who needs some one to give him a forever home - he has already been playing all of the 7 Parelli games! He was purchased as a yearling for $56,000.00! and his adoption fee is only $400!  If interested see above site, and click on Special Prospect.

Though most horse adoption sites state you need to live in the same State (some even the same county) as the adoption agency - this is not the case at BITS (Back in The Saddle). They do a very thorough check on anyone who wants to adopt a horse, but there is not an adoption application fee. If you do not see a horse you currently are interested in, but feel you may want to someday adopt, fill out the application form. Once you are approved to adopt, BITS will notify you of any horses they recieve which match what you are looking for, BEFORE they list it on the website.

As for those who claim to be "too old" - BAH HUMBUG! No one is ever to old to "hug a horse"    even if they can no longer ride. I am 42 and just this past year and a half have started training and working with young horses - I have even gotten my 2 and 3 year old under saddle and rider by myself - never having done this before now. So those of you who fit this catagory - go out and fullfill that wonderful dream of becoming a horse owner!

The photo is of me and my newly adopted horse Stormy! Taken on my first visit with him.
