Synopsis:

    My story takes place in a back yard Garden. Beautiful flowers and lush vegetation hide within them the wonderful World of Insects.
    As we begin the story we meet Bob and Yo, Earthworms working hard to keep the gardens fertile for the growing plants.
    This story helps to teach Children that even though they are small they have their own strengths and can still do some things on their own as long as they have Faith in themselves and don’t give up on themselves.
    By using the weakest Characters in the Garden I strive to teach the Children to have faith in themselves in a somewhat subtle manner.
    I’ve incorporated other bugs in the Gardens to show differences that should be accepted in our Society. The slugs are known to have a bad Reputation, but as the main Characters meet and get to know them, they find themselves warming up to them and becoming their friends.
    All the bugs become as equal partners, each doing their parts, during the Crisis of the great flood. Working together creates a bond between the many different types of Insects in the story, as they use their resources to get through the catastrophes that confront them.
    Casandra, a Gypsy moth tells an unforgettable Tale of Romance and Intrigue as the stranded Insects await the arrival of the Dragonflies, and their ride home.
    The subtle teaching enhances the story plot and the Characters gain courage, as well as knowledge and insight from each other and the difficulties that are occurring around them.
    ‘Bugs Lives’ and The Rainy Night In The Gardens’ deals with many of today’s Issue that are confronting our Children as no other book can.

Short description:

    Disaster strikes in the hearts and homes of these hapless bugs, but the main Bugs as well as many of the others learn many Life lessons, and never give up on each other or themselves.
    Cooperation becomes the key to survival.
    Courage,Character,Faith, working together, helping each other, and accepting the others for their differences are but a few. Making friends and believing in themselves are only a few of the steps taken by these Characters to make their Dreams come true, and begin on the Journey we call life, to build a better future by following their Dreams to reach their Destiny.

"About the Author
and my books.

    I was born in a town back east that no longer exists, it burned to the ground before I came out west at the age of 1 year.
    I have been writing since I was a teen, mostly poetry, short stories, and Newspaper Articles for the School Paper when I was a teen. I have always been around Children, and I love to teach them by using my words. They are our future. Teaching them lessons the easy way through e books, or Audio has been a 'Dream come True' for me.
    A local ECE Class has two of my books. Sluggy Slug, and Tammy Turtle teach about shyness and not to bully. These are two of the Major stumbling blocks that kids have to deal with at the onset of School. Short books made specifically for their short attention span, they come in handy as Bedtime stories that teach life lessons. All of my books are designed to teach."

    As a Parent I have many concerns about the World around me and my Children. Global Warming, smog, and the overuse of our Landfills has encouraged me to grow trees for the Environment. I grow them from seeds and cuttings so as to preserve their integrity for the Honey Bees and other Pollinators. I do not believe that Hybrid Plants are doing right by them.
    I grow various types of Fruit Trees, and I would like to be able to buy land to start Orchards, and possibly someday to help with the Homeless, and help feed the Hungry. I believe that Charity does begin at home, and I see it as sharing the Wealth, not a handout.
    A lot of very good people have found themselves in need and too ashamed because of the Societal Stigma to get the help that they so desperately need. I have been one of these people and I have learned compassion and empathy because of this.
    Our Children go to School to learn, but fear of bullies and unfair treatment from others can inhibit their learning. I believe that with Early Childhood Learning we need to be teaching lessons to stop the kinds of behavior that lead to the current atrocities that are becoming all too common in our Schools. I am a Dreamer, and I would like to change the World.
    The Future of our Children is in our hands, and it is up to all of us to teach them to be responsible, productive members of Society. Working together we can all accomplish this and be blessed by the fruits of our labors.

Teaching Children their ABC's comes natural to Parents, and Teachers, but what about Life Lessons?

    We all want our Children to overcome shyness, and we try to teach them that bullying is wrong. My e-books get right to the point, and can instill Values that last a lifetime. Teaching them instead of letting them go through life learning the hard way is my goal. These stories are easy to memorize, even for pre-kindergarten children.

    Staying young by writing for Children is the only way to be.
I use Characters that the kids can relate to, and keep their attention from word one. The local ECE Class has a copy of my first two stories. All of them dealing with Issues that they can relate to.

    I have a twelve Chapter e book called, 'Bugs Lives' and The Rainy Night in The Gardens.
Chapter one of my e book is free. The full book is approximately two hundred pages of enjoyment. Almost like twelve books to a mini series."

    Yo learns that stereotypes and rumors are not necessarily true, even if they come from your best friend, and that they close more doors than they will open. Seeing things as they are with your own eyes can help you to determine the truth. He also learns that hard work makes you appreciate more.

    The main Characters learn the hard way that leaving things on their floor is not a good idea. Yo begins to realize that he can do things on his own, without always relying on his buddy Bob to do everything. Cassandra the gypsy moth sees the approach of a terrible storm in her Crystal Ball. Everyone scatters in preparation of the big storm.

    As the storm hits Yo learns about trust. He also learns that panicking is not a good idea and can be dangerous. Action conquers the fears as they work together, and don't give up. Another lesson is that fighting will not get you what you want and can only lead to trouble.

    Huddled under a bridge, all of the bugs are well cared for by the uninjured bugs. A bonfire is built to keep them warm. The bugs find solace in each other and safety after the Storm. Working together they learn valuable lessons, and they make many new friends.

    Cassandra tells a haunting tale of love and death. A warning of the dangers of the Black Widow Spider. Teaches things are not always as they seem, and to beware of her, as she can be heartless, cruel, and deadly . Looks aren't everything, as the vain Roberto finds out the hard way. Taking others for granted is definitely not the way to act.

Careful planning can help you to move towards the future even though your ideas are not popular with others.

Making new friends comes easier when the truth is revealed about some of the bugs that had been treated unfairly. Given a chance, they prove to be be the opposite of the stereotype that they were given.
