The Marine Connection successfully had two beluga whales confiscated from dreadful conditions at Dolphinella in Sharm el Sheikh, however there are still 3 dolphins in this facility which operates a swim with dolphins programme. Our aim is to close this and secure assurances from CITES and the Egyptian authorities that no facilities are allowed to operate in Sharm el Sheikh in the future which hold captive whales or dolphins. We also campaigned against a dolphin show at Concorde el Salam hotel which has since closed.
