Gwinnett County Georgia: Police search for prowling molester, man who enters homes, fondles girls

Six-year-old Jayla Harris' Uncle Will was late in meeting her at the bus stop Thursday afternoon. Again. After hearing about a night-prowling molester around Norcross apartments, though, Will Harris plans to be more vigilant. "I overslept," Harris said, "but that's not going to happen again."

"I think he's crazy as hell," said Bill Gates, who lives in Mission Heritage Park, an apartment complex near Jimmy Carter Boulevard and Britt Road. "I've got a 12-gauge for him. If he comes in my area, I'll spot him."

Idaho Police Seek Help Finding Missing Mother.

Police say Stephanie has left home before, but unlike in this situation, she would call home. This time seems different. Stephanie hasn't called anyone in 11 days. This Labor Day weekend, police are asking that people in the hills and outdoors help police.

Lt. Joe Cawley, Idaho Falls Police Department: "...Just want to remind everybody that Stephanie's still out there. She's missing, and if anybody sees anything, any disturbances in the roadway, any suspicious activity, or Stephanie herself, please call in and let us know where and we'll check that out."

Law enforcement is treating this like a homicide in how they work the case, although no evidence points that way right now. They have Stephanie's DNA entered into a national database, so if an unidentified body is ever recovered anywhere in the country, the DNA would show a match and Idaho Falls Police would be notified.

Nicola Payne Nicola has been missing since 14 December 1991. Shortly after midday, Nicola left her family home in Coventry, East Midlands to pick up some baby clothes for her seven-month-old son. She did not reach her destination and has not been seen or heard from since. Nicola is 5ft 3in tall, medium build, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a brown leather jacket, purple T-shirt and fawn trousers.

Owen said Nicola had a "loving bond" with him. A 16-year-old who was just seven months old when his mother disappeared has called on the public to help find her. Owen Cooke said: "My one wish would be to have my mum found and to be able to understand the confusion, mystery and heartbreak of the past 16 years." The boy's statement was read out at a news conference by Nicola's mother, Maz Payne, as he was too upset to attend.

Ms Payne was walking through an area known as the Black Pad from the family home of her partner, Jason Cooke, on Winston Avenue, to her parents' house on nearby Woodway Close, when she disappeared. Her parents have now appealed for information to help end their "living nightmare".

Police told the media a review of the case in March had uncovered some new leads, but declined to comment further on them. Owen, who has just left school and hopes to become an electrician, said: "I was seven months old when my lovely mum Nickie went missing.

"Nan and granddad always say that she had a loving bond with me, which was noticeable to all. "Sadly I have no memories of her and I envy my older cousins who remember her well, and they tell me what a fun-loving girl she was."

Ms Payne's father, John said: "The family do not believe Nickie is still alive, but we will never give up hope that one day our daughter will be found and then we will have some kind of closure. "Please help to give us peace of mind."

Ms Owen and Mr Cooke had been living with Owen between the two addresses, which were about half a mile apart, while they built and furnished their own home.

A major police search was launched after she went missing on 14 December 1991, but no trace of her was ever found. Det Ch Insp Steve Bimson, senior investigating officer of the inquiry, said he was keeping an open mind on the case. He said: "Nicola had never gone missing before. She was in a steady relationship, had a seven-month-old child on whom she doted and was making plans for the future."

A £10,000 reward raised by Nicola's family and friends is still on offer to anyone who can give information leading to her whereabouts.

Teen with a child's mental capacity is missing Her MySpace page indicates she planned to meet someone. Missing From: Gwinnett County Georgia since August 23, 2007

A teenager with a mental capacity of a 10-year-old was reported missing Thursday night after she did not return home from school.

Crystal Gaines' mother told Gwinnett County police that her 19-year-old daughter's MySpace.com page showed notes that indicated that the teen was planning on meeting someone. Police have not been able to confirm whether Gaines met someone or planned on doing so.

Gaines' mother, Vanessa Robinson-Gaines, last saw her Thursday morning when the teen walked to the bus stop from her home in the 600 block of Tanners Pointe Circle in Lawrenceville. When Robinson-Gaines went to pick her daughter up from school in the afternoon, she was told that the teen had not come in that day.

Gaines is black, about 5'6" tall and weighs 170 lbs. She has brown eyes and braided black hair. She was wearing a white tank top with a cropped burgundy sweatshirt and blue jean shorts with white Nike shoes.

Because Gaines had not contacted her mother by Thursday night, authorities are concerned about her well-being. They are now seeking the public's help after exhausting all leads in locating her, said Cpl. Illana Spellman.
