It is hard to believe, but the Michelle Bachmann scandal may actually get much worse. Her husband claims to be a PhD and treats gays for their 'homosexual sickness' as a mental health doctorate level professional.
Yet according to the following press release, his PhD was not accredited when he graduated and the way he is 'treating' gays is not approved by any legitimate professional mental health association or body. Marcus Bachmann is denying that he treats gays this way, but an undercover investigation reveals that he actually did do this, and may still be doing it.
From the above press release, the investigator talks about how "there is fraud rampant throughout Bachmann & Associates that could lead to federal charges against Marcus Bachmann and his Christian counselors. For example:
(1) if he has a religious test (he advertises that all 27 counselors are “Christian” and “Christ-centered, very strong in out understanding of who the Almighty Counselor is, and we rely on god’s [Christian] word and the Almighty Counselor” Bachmann is breaking all EEO rules on discrimination.
(2) Bachmann has claimed that his oath is “first do no harm” from the Greek ἐπὶ δηλήσει δὲ καὶ ἀδικίῃ εἴρξειν (that Bachmann does not know) and is a part of the Hippocratic Corpus (http://www.eastridges.com/wesley/primum.html) and then makes broad statements that gays and lesbians are “barbarians [who] need to be educated, need to be disciplined” implying the use of torture be it spanking, deprivation of food, sleep, and so forth.
(3) Michele Bachmann has gone on record noting that any person who receives state and federal funds are engaged in a socialistic system, yet both Marcus and Michele have received such government subsides.
(4) There are numerous other questions including about licensing, regulatory inspections, insurance and what happens if a patient is harmed, how young the patients are when they come to the clinic, and so forth (an excellent list is at http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/10-questions-bachmanns-husband-must-answer-about-christian-counseling/politics/2011/07/07/23180)."
The Tea Party that Michelle Bachmann is leading is fighting to cut Medicare and Medicaid payments or to get rid of the whole program all together and substitute a voucher program that would privatize it completely.
So why is her husband collecting payment from this same 'evil' socialist government program for treating 'gayness' as a mental health disease that supposedly can be cured by Christian focused ‘treatment’? And what happens when this treatment does not work, and the gay person being treated gets depressed and commits suicide?
Could he be falsely claiming payments for being a doctor, in order to get some of those evil 'socialist welfare' payments from a federal government agency? Maybe someone should look into this (Click here to read more about this horror story)...
After reading the above article, we can see that the 'treatment' of gayness as a sickness can easily lead one into a bizarre world of fundamentalism where evil is seen as good and good is seen as evil.. It is a fascinating story of preachers who sometimes hide and then project their own homosexuality as a 'sin' onto others. Read about the many examples of this at the link above.
The further one gets into this the more one gets into things like 'corrective rape' of lesbians and the justified murder of four year olds who 'might be gay'. (God told him to do it.) Discrimination, disparagement and putting down of gays and lesbians with policies such as the Don't Ask, Don't Tell in the military, is all justified in the name of God and the Bible in many fundamentalist churches, the Tea Party and people who fund them, such as the Koch Brothers. Yet, according to the press release above, this anti-gay wording actually does not even exist in the Bible, if one goes back and looks at the original wording in other languages.
Even though the DODT policy has officially been reversed under President Obama, Tea Party members and Christian fundamentalists are fighting to overturn this equal treatment under the law policy.
Christian Fundamentalists, Tea Party activists and Republicans seem to be working together to make gays 'evil' first of all. Most of them seem to be working together on campaigns to keep gays and lesbians out of the military, and to keep gays from marrying each other as well (Mormons and Catholics especially). What is harder to understand is how being and married hurts fundamentalists. How do gays marrying each other affect them in a negative way?
It is also interesting how fundamentalists are almost 100% opposed to ‘activist judges’, but in the same breath that they passionately rail against these supposed 'activist' judges, they are also fighting hard to get judges into the Supreme Court or state courts that will ban gay marriage and reverse things like women’s right to choose, minimum wage standards, etc..
The things that fundamentalists are in favor of are almost all religious moral stands that have to be IMPOSED on everyone else, by taking away freedoms.
So what happens when people outside of their church do not believe in rigid, purist, fundamentalist created anti-alcohol (remember Prohibition?), anti-drug, anti-gambling, anti-immigrant, anti-freedom, anti-democracy, pro-slavery, anti-women’s rights laws?
Are these things not all moral activism coming out of fundamentalist religion belief systems? Fundamentalists make up about 25% of the total population, but they want their system of religion and moralistic beliefs IMPOSED by law on EVERYONE.
Slowly but surely, these Sharia type laws and rules have been repealed or reversed over several thousand years, as the many negative consequences of these moralistically restrictive and freedom abolishing laws have been revealed. Hopefully, this trend will continue.

As we move into election season, we wanted to send you a quick update on our big campaign to challenge corporate influence and thank you for your good work!
We started this campaign, at the beginning of the summer, not knowing how many candidates we'd be able to get to commit to our effort and believing that only a massive grassroots effort would make this campaign possible. Thanks to your incredible work, that campaign has blown away this summer's goals.
In fact, nearly 200 candidates and members of Congress, along with 500,000 individuals, have endorsed the Fight Washington Corruption pledge—our three-part blueprint to overturn the Supreme Court's Citizens United ruling, enact publicly-financed elections, and reduce the influence of lobbyists in Washington.
Thanks in part to our work together, corporate lobbying and influence have become increasingly important themes in the election. Just last week, for example, The New York Times ran a front-page profile of Republican leader John Boehner focused on his links to corporate lobbyists1. And candidates like Paul Hodes in New Hampshire have come out with new plans to shut the revolving door between government and industry2.
Meanwhile, though, the problem is only getting worse. In the wake of Citizens United, corporate interests are spending an astounding $400 million to buy the election for Republicans3. Which is why our focus between now and November needs to be on supporting the candidates who've stood up against corporate influence, and beating back the hostile corporate takeover of Congress!
Succeeding in this election will be tough, but thanks to the amazing work that you and other MoveOn members did on this campaign over the summer we now have a solid foundation for taking on these Republicans and the corporations behind them. We'll be in touch soon with ways you can get involved in the election your area, but for now, thank you for your commitment to this campaign and to our cause.

Moses of the Old Testament presented his mission and, "the people all answered as one: 'Everything that the Lord has spoken we will do'" (Exodus 19:8). God tried to speak directly to the people, but; "when all the people witnessed the thunder and lightning, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking, they were afraid and trembled and stood at a distance, and said to Moses, 'You speak to us, and we will listen; but do not let God speak to us, or we will die'" (20:18-19). The people were called by God even back then, but they pulled back, in fear. Is this still a pattern today?
Martin Luther (the founder of Protestants) read the Scriptures and talked with God directly, discovering he could serve in the "priesthood of all believers.", without the need for a priest. He turned the Catholic Church upside down by saying that; "All Christians are priests, and all priests are Christians. Worthy of anathema is any assertion that a priest is anything else than a Christian."
Martin Luther claimed that every person could directly connect with God, without the help or intercession of Catholic Priests. He said that every person could talk with God, and did not need a priest. Further, every person could read the words of God for him or herself, with no priest reading it in Latin and then translating it for the ignorant and disconnected masses.
Martin Luther was radical for his time, and was declared a heretic, but he was not the only one... John Calvin not only said the same thing as Martin Luther, he set up a church structure where laity and clergy served in ordained offices of leadership... all of them equally serving and saying the Word, performing as missionaries, and praying.
A few churches are structured to work without a priest, notably the Quakers, who sit in silent meditation and speaking as God moves them. All Quaker members are equal in their connection to God and in their responsibility to act as ambassadors to God.
Jesus said; "The Kingdom of Heaven is WITHIN". If this Kingdom is within us, then it is available NOW. Why are most churches saying we have to wait for eons until some future time, yet to come?
Compared to the Quakers, a spiritual inferiority complex seems to be nomal. Deference to Expertism, Clericalism and Officialdom seems to be the accepted way in many churches and in the general population, but that is not the highest and best. Everyone is called to be a high and holy priest, serving God directly, with no intercessor.
What is your connection to God? Are you exercising and fulfilling your calling? What is your holy commission? How are you connecting with others, using your spiritual gifts? How are you serving as a priest of the Most High?
Today, just as in the time of Moses, Martin Luther, and Jesus, God is still calling everyone (including YOU) to be a priest, to connect directly, and to carry out a high and holy mission. God is reaching out to you...Why not learn how to God connect directly? Why not discover what God is saying to you? Why not see the world the way God sees it?

I'm John Bruhns and I served in Baghdad as an army sergeant for the first year of the war. Within my first days there, I realized that so much of what I had been told—about weapons of mass destruction, connections to 9/11—was just White House spin to sell the war.
I'm seeing the same thing all over again now. Even with this being the bloodiest summer for US troops in Iraq, even with Iraqi casualties running at twice the pace of last year, and even with 15 of 18 of President Bush's own benchmarks unmet, the White House is at it again. They're telling us that black is white, up is down, and things in Iraq are going just great thanks to the troop "surge."
This month Congress is going to vote on war policy for the next year—and Bush is hoping all this "progress" talk will scare Congress away from voting for withdrawal. We can't let that happen. Almost 4,000 US troops have died. We've spent half a trillion dollars in Iraq. Every day you turn on the news and more people are killed. We need Congress to stand up and fight to bring our troops home this fall.
I need your help to make sure that happens. Can you sign this petition demanding that Congress begin a fully funded redeployment and start bringing our troops home from Iraq immediately? I'll deliver your comments to Congress myself next week. Clicking below will add your name:
I left Iraq on February 27, 2004 and from what I hear from my friends who are still there—many on their third or fourth deployments—it's worse now than ever before. The "surge" was a failure and it's time to draw down our troops.
This president can't be trusted, his policy is reckless and it's more and more dangerous every day.
Here's what's happened in Iraq since the escalation went into effect.
- Violence has gone up in Iraq. This summer is on track to be one of the bloodiest summers for Iraqis and U.S. troops, with nearly twice as many U.S. troops killed this July than the previous July. 1
- The surge has not created political stability. The central premise of the surge was that it would increase political stability. Two years after Sunnis were brought into the political transition, a Sunni bloc withdrew from the government. 2 This week's original Government Accountability Office report showed that 15 out of 18 of Bush's own political benchmarks remain unmet. 3
- We've poured weapons into Iraq's civil war. Another Government Accountability Office report earlier this summer showed that the Pentagon lost track of nearly 200,000 weapons given to Iraqis. We distribute weapons and then they disappear and we don't know what happens to them. What we do know is that violence increases—both among Iraqi sectarian groups and against American troops. 4
- Ethnic cleansing is happening in Baghdad. The once Sunni dominated city is now dominated by Shiites. Here is a quote from the most recent Newsweek: "When Gen. David Petraeus goes before Congress next week to report on the progress of the surge, he may cite a decline in insurgent attacks in Baghdad as one marker of success. In fact, part of the reason behind the decline is how far the Shiite militias' cleansing of Baghdad has progressed: they've essentially won." 5
As an Iraq war veteran I felt so much relief after the November of 2006 election—I felt like we would finally end this mess and start bringing our troops home from Iraq. I've been let down a lot over this last year and I want to do everything I can to make sure it doesn't happen again.
Congress has the power to force redeployment and they have to use that power this fall. Nothing is more important to me than making sure we start bringing all our troops home—and I need your help to make sure that's what happens.
Please sign the petition today.
Thanks for all you do.
–John Bruhns, former US Army Infantry Sergeant.
