This is our second summer at our home.  Last Spring while out with our "baby" Cujo, a Toy Poodle, I heard some rustleing in the Oleander bushes and they were moving.  To say the least I was a bit nervous.  CUJO to the rescue!  He went flying into the bushs to save his "mommy"!
Suddenly out runs a small lizard!  Probably more frightened than I was.   And I was very frightened because I am terrified of snakes!  So when I saw that it was just a cute little lizard my heart slowed down and I could finally take a breath.
I watched this small creature run all over the cinder block wall that separates our yard from our neighbor's yard.  He was so cute.
I will say HE because I really don't know how to tell if it is a he or a she.  Guess that will be my homework for today, to Google lizards!  =:0   Internet lingo for looking up facts on lizards!   I just love to say Google!

The cute little critter would stop every now and then, trying to be invisible, and probably looking to see what my next move was going to be.

Well, my next move was to run into the house and grab my camera!  I really wanted to "shoot" some snapshots of this little cutie!

All in vain!  Not until a while later was my daughter in law, Lisa, able to get some snapshots.  While we were out in the yard, watching for our little friend, we saw more than one lizard.  There was a big lizard, twice or three times bigger than the first one, sitting on the top of the wall.  He was so funny!  It looked as though he was doing push-ups, raising his belly by stretching his tiny little legs straight up.  Bobbing up and down!  How cute is that!  Lisa told me that is how the lizards check the temperature of the rock, or in this case, wall, and if it's not too hot or cold they will stop and sun there!
"SNAP"!  Cute shot!  I decided we should call this one, Grandpa, because he was so big.
I don't know how many lizards we had last summer.  They all look alike and you never know if you see the same one over and over or if there are several, unless you see them all out at one time.
Yesterday when I took Abby Rose out on her leash in the back yard,  what a great surprise!  Rustleing in the Oleanders!  And there it was!  The first lizard!
I hurried back into the house and got my camera, asking God to please let me get some shots of the first little lizard!  And God was listening!
HE lead me straight to my camera, ( I hardly ever know where I left it!) And when I got back to the place I had seen the lizard, there he was!  Like he was waiting for me!
I wonder if he is a new lizard or if he was here last year.  What was he thinking as I was snapping pictures trying to get as close as I could without scareing him away? Whatever he was thinking, I think he knew I was't going to try and do him any harm.
To him, I probably looked like a huge tree.  A tree that moved and made a weird noise and had a tiny little flashing light!  And a talking tree!  With a soft voice, saying things like, Hi little Guy! Don't run, I'm not going to hurt you!  You are so cute! Hold still and say "CHEESE"!
The pix that I picked today is of that little guy.  I took it yesterday, and got several more shots, of him, yes, and maybe some different ones.  I don't know.  But I'm sure my grandkids will know when they see the pictures.  And they will tell me.
We have all been anxiously awaiting the RETURN OF THE LIZARDS!  And the Roly-Poly bugs, the Praying Mantis', and the Humming Birds!
I have some of the pictures I took yesterday of the lizard/lizards in an album, and I hope that you will take a moment to look thru it!
Thank You, GOD, for all creatures great and small, that You put on this earth for us to enjoy!
Except for snakes!

GOD Bless ~
