Help us help Ella
Ella is a sweet 2 year old petite girl who has had a lifetime of bad luck. Born into a home that housed over 30 animals Ella didn't have the proper care right from the start. When her health deteriorated to the point where she could no longer hold her head up she was brought to our shelter to be euthanized. Our staff was horrified by her untreated condition. Ella was very, very sick but after an evaluation from our vet it was decided she deserved a fighting chance and we began treatment with high doses of antibiotics.

Ella surprised all of us as she fought to get better. Her coat that was covered in missing fur begun to grow back. The scabs on her skin began to dry up and heal. Her congestion and bloody nose started to dry up and for the first time Ella could breath normally again. A caring long term foster home was found and Ella finally found the love she never had as a kitten. Each day became a milestone for Ella. Through it all her disposition never wavered.

Sweet, purring and gentle are terms that describe Ella. Daily medication was administered and she never put up a struggle. Her fight was put to the test recently when just as we thought she was nearing a health clearance she took a turn for the worse. Drooling incessantly and breathing heavily she was rushed to the vet hospital. Ella needed medical intervention once again to survive.

After a series of diagnostic tests it has been determined Ella has a grade 3 heart murmur with cardiomyopathy and has a severe case of dental disease. Special medication was ordered to steady her heart as we prepare to send her for a complete dental. With the proper surgery and medications Ella has a chance at a normal life again however treating Ella has become very expensive.

Between our shelter, discounts on some of the medical procedures and donations from the foster care provider we have only been able to get Ella to where she is now. We could really use some help.

Can you help us help Ella? Any size donation would be appreciated. Knowing Ella gives us the strength to continue her care, the opportunity to continue our mission and the chance for her survival.

Making a donation to the Tulip Medical Care Fund will give Ella and cats like her a chance to survive and enjoy a loving home one day. Please consider helping today.  Thank you!

We are getting closer to having the amount needed for Ellas surgery and after care but please keep helping. We wanted to mention that for some reason Ella's picture got switched and another cats picture is next to her story but if you want to see her just look at our pictures online. They are going to try to fix it some type of technical difficulty. Thanks again to all who have helped. Again the site is www.sarl-nh.org and go to donate, tulip medical fund and the story will explain a bit about Ella.

Love,

Kim, Liz, Ella and all our kittys

I am writing you to see if you can spread the world to others and even maybe help contribute yourselves. One of our kittys Ella is in need of a VERY serious operation and we are raising the funds through Salem Animal Rescue League in NH. She was fostered by us through SARL-NH and now lives with us in CT. We have already paid for her intial tests, medications, heart meds that she will be on for the rest of her life and her ultrasounds. She now is stabilized while we find a way to raise the funds for her surgery. It could run up to $3,000 with the after care and medications. As you know we lost our cat Chase (Ella's old roomate from SARL-Nh) in December to cancer and our other kitty Yum-Yum had major surgery for BArtonella and Stomactisis. We are VERY low on funds and are reaching out to the community, family and friends for help. If you cut and paste the following link into your browser http://sarl-nh.org/ and then go to DONATE on the webpage and scrool down to the title Tulip Medical Care Fund it will take you to Ella's page and a brief story about her. ANYTHING helps, a dollar from all of you would go a LONG way. Then forward this to anyone you know that might help too. This donation page wiill only be up about another 2 weeks. We thank you but most of all Ella thanks you! She deserves to live out the rest of her life happy and as healthy as she can be with us. If you do contribute please drop us a quick note at this email so we can try to track the amount raised. Again please remember ANY amount matters and we appreciate everything. Thank you.
Love,
