Hear me talk in this radio interview with a local radio station from Monday, October 17, 2011.

Here is the actual video of the April’s Law hearing. AB-136 starts about 15 minutes in, and lasts almost 40 minutes. I’m the last 7-8 minutes of that portion.  You will need to agree to the user terms, and it will prompt you right in. Thanks for tuning in.

Now here is the local paper, the Racine Journal Times write up about the whole thing.  I think this one helps me sound good.  Bless this gal!

This is the type of stuff I’d like to push all over, far and wide!

Exciting news, everyone!

AB-136, aka April's Law Wisconsin, is being heard in the Committee on Criminal Justice and Corrections!  We need as many people as possible to either come to the hearing or to submit their written testimony to support this piece of Legislation.

The hearing will take place on Wednesday, October 19,2011 @ 9:30am in room 300 Northeast State Capitol.  Let me know if you'd like to carpool.

Just to let you know, the Racine County Sheriff's office is also supporting this.

If you can't make it, please send me an email, so I can submit it - or you may send it to the members of the Committee on Criminal Justice & Corrections, which is hearing the Bill to vote on it.  Here is a list of those who are on the committee.  Please remember to have add your name and pertinent info, and thank them for their time.

I'm hoping to get as many people or letters in, because the more support we have, the better chance it has to come to a vote rather than dropped on the floor.

Thank you all for your kind support, and please don't forget to submit your letters for support, and if you can, please join me at the hearing!  Just to ensure that we will be there on time, I'll probably be leaving around 6:30AM to ensure I can be there, because it looks as if AB-136 is the first billing for this hearing.

Please keep me posted!

WOOT! Okay, sorry to have a party here w/o inviting people sooner, but, this is huge news, and I think it's exciting.

Representative Mason is putting the final touches on April's Law Wisconsin, to ensure that kidnapping for intent to molest children gets added into the current draft, and will hopefully be introducing it to the Assembly later this month. This is VERY exciting to begin with.

And now, even MORE on the good news, up and up, Senator Wangaard's office FINALLY contacted me about April's Law Wisconsin, and wants to set up a meeting in the first part of May.

I'd sent him a message through one of these other sites, and got this automated message back from him:

Thank you for contacting my office. I appreciate that you wrote to me to express your concerns. Please be assured that my staff and I are reading every email we receive. We are still working through a backlog of emails from the budget repair bill, but we will review your email as soon as possible.

Van Wanggaard
Wisconsin State Senator
Senate District 21Serving Racine County

My response back was:

In reading every email, please ensure that you get back to me ASAP as for the April's Law draft that I've emailed to you several times. My home phone is 262-xxx-xxxx - we ought to do a meeting to talk about protecting our children from sex predators on and off line.

From J the legislative assistant:

Hello Ms. S,
I'd be happy to set up a meeting in Madison with Senator Wanggaard. We are currently scheduling for the first and second week of May on our calendar--you can give our office a call at (608) xxx-xxxx to set up a meeting or email me with some dates that work for you. The Senator is typically at the Capitol Tuesday-Thursday every week.
Thank you!
Legislative Aide
Office of Senator Wanggaard

So, I'm shooting for Monday, May 2, for an afternoon coffee/tea. I'm looking forward to it, and well, lets hope all goes well to get April's Law Wisconsin into the law books! Thanks for all supporters of April's Law, even if in concept only. For now, I'm happier than pie. WOOT!

November 2, 2010 is a very important election. While we here at Youth Voice Initiative (YVI) will not officially endorse a party or go straight with any party line, though YVI WILL endorse candidates who are very pro-children, and those who support child safety issues.

With the presidential election in place just 2 years ago, President Obama has made things happen, and is catching waves with many of his decisions. Mind you, since we have had a democrat dominated congress, which made it easier to get things passed. Often times, because previously, we had 8 years of republican rule with republican congress, people came in droves to vote democrat... Yet just in two years, people have, predictably, became frustrated with the democrats, and have been loud about it. In any case, this is a severely important election, because it can keep or disrupt the continuity of how this country will be run now and into the future.

Many everyday people are irritated with who are considered "career politicians". Pro - they are familiar with the ropes and with incumbents come seniority and power, and if urged by the people right, is a great asset for the area they represent. Con - some have, and are, too confident in their jobs, and have their own ideas, and may not be conducive to whom ever are the "little people" in their communities, and gives back to those who give the most to campaigns and what have you. While new people have fresher eyes and come from US the people, where all of them SHOULD be, if they aren't familiar with the internal system, they are easier to bull doze if not in proper alignment.

Please remember, what ever party you are from, rather than voting party lines, pick what issues are most near and dear to you, and vote for the person who most represents that, not for the sake of the party. YVI strongly encourages all voters to check out which candidates are most supportive of children's issues such as safety, nutrition, education and more.

Let me first say that YVI officially endorses State Senator John Lehman (D-Racine) and Representative Cory Mason (D-Racine) in this upcoming election. Together, they have drafted April's Law Wisconsin, and will be presenting it together in the State Senate & Assembly this upcoming January. I would like to publicly thank these two gentlemen, who are leaders in promoting the safety of our youth who will be safer from sexual predators on and offline. Here they are:

Senator John Lehman

Representative Cory Mason

For anyone who would like to see the draft, contact me and you will be emailed an attachment copy of the draft. Thank you.

For being supportive to the cause, YVI supports Representative Robin Vos (R-Racine), the first to show public support for April's Law here in Racine.

Representative Vos

And for indirectly supporting April's Law, I'd like to present Representative Bob Turner.

Representative Turner

While all four of these candidates are important to the cause, Senator Lehman and Representative Mason are the original drafters, and YVI strongly urges full support of these two men to represent Racine to the State of Wisconsin, so that they may bring April's Law to the table to be passed. Without them, it's as if we are practically starting from ground zero.

In Nevada, YVI fully endorses Representative Bob Beers (R-LV) for being the first ever politician to outright support and endorse April's Law. For his dedicated support, for those of you in the northwest Las Vegas area, you are strongly urged to support Bob Beers into office for the protection of children from sex predators on and offline.

Representative Beers

Back to Wisconsin politics... For governor, YVI would like to give credit to Tom Barret, who will ensure that low income children will have health coverage, and more health research will be done to help combat various illnesses. He'd like to make sure that the working people will get a fair tax break.

I'd like to keep this a positive campaign spot, so there will be no negative campaigning here. No mud slinging, false accusations or finger pointing. Only the facts and what your candidate can do for your area.

The push for April's Law isn't over yet. We are still in dire need of more signatures, and the Wisconsin version is set to deliver this upcoming March, when the passage of new laws will be taking place, so, YVI is hopeful that our guys will win the election, and to be able to sell the final version to pass, we need as much support as possible. So please continue to sign April's Law Wisconsin, and please urge as many people as possible to sign this important piece of Legislation. The federal version is not introduced to anyone yet, we still need more support from we the people to get this going properly. Here is the federal April's Law Petition. Thank you for your continued support. Also to be introduced soon to the legislators, I'd like to present Sean's Voice: The petition for our unacknowledged survivors of abuse, our men... Currently there is very little to help those who are/have been abused. We need to keep pushing the petition, so when we're ready to move forward, we have enough to start.

Here is another interesting competition. Most of you are at least a little bit aware of Federal Representative Paul Ryan, R-Wisconsin. While not all of the things he has done are bad, many consider him a bit scary. His opponent is new comer John Heckenlively, running on his slogan Give Congress Heck! Which I find catchy. I like it. As a former teacher, it will be interesting how he can help our area and issues that matter to our youth.

Remember, the election is November 2, 2010. Make sure you vote! Yes, your vote counts! If you are going to be unable to get to the polls, absentee ballots are available right now. Go to your City Hall to find out how you can get those, and don't forget, GO VOTE!

I hope all had a great Memorial Day Weekend. We went to a permanently located, year 'round flea market Saturday, and bought tomato plants, a flavor spice mix, a toy for my son, planted the tomatoes, and had a fun day. We cooked out Sunday, and used the spice mix on the chicken legs. We went out to the cemetery Monday, to put flags for the family, and to help clean off graves that are unattended near the family plot. We had a great weekend.

Just remember, abuse never takes a holiday. Unfortunately, it's during holidays that abuse often escalates. So while remembering our soldiers who have and are fighting for our rights, abusing one another is NOT one of them. So if you could, please click these three banners below to help take a chunk out of abuse.

This first one is for the federal petition for APRIL's LAW. It's the first internet law of this magnitude to shut down legal pedophile sites and also to protect our children from abuse, on and off line.

The next one is a companion petition, for April's Law Wisconsin, in hopes that all 50 states will have a version of it, and be leaders of the planet in ending child sex abuse.

fight child porn, fight online porn, fight online child pornography

Here is one for the abused men, who currently have little to no support. Many are laughed at, not believed, or teased about actually liking the abuse. As unacknowledged survivors of abuse, men are in dire need of shelter, support and services to become survivors in life, rather than remaining victim alone. In memory of baby Sean, I present Sean's Voice. Precious Sean was abused to death by his mother, simply for being a boy. (She also had a young daughter whom was not physically abused.) When his father tried to protect him, Sean's mother would have him arrested for the abuse. Then he was arrested for not protecting his sweet son, even after being abused himself. An abused mother would never be arrested, so why should the father? Had authorities recognized the signs, the abuser would automatically get arrested, leaving the children in the hands of the protective parent. But, as fate has it, there are not many DV shelters that takes FATHERS with children, so where would he go? Homelessness is a separate issue, and doesn't deal with abuse issues. Living on the street is not an option. Please click the banner to sign this petition.

Please also sign this petition against NAMBLA, an organization that promotes man/boy love relationships. Please, STOP NAMBLA FROM HURTING OUR YOUTH!!! I know I'm asking a lot here, but these are important issues, and NAMBLA is all about men abusing young boys, and making it legal. Please join the fight to end pedophilia.

Thank you for your continued support, and I'd totally appreciate it if you could spread the word. For every signature, points are earned to let the sponsor of the petition to do more good works for the planet.

Your recipe for the day:
20 fajita sized tortillas, corn or flour. 1 or 2 cans of black beans, drained. 1.5# seasoned chicken, diced. 1 head of romaine lettuce, chopped. 3 tomatoes, diced. 12 oz shredded cheese. Sour cream. Deep-fryer. Optional: minced onions. Salsa of your choice on the side.

To season chicken, dice chicken breast. Saute in a skillet with a pinch of salt, fresh ground pepper to taste, cumin, cilantro and the juice of one lime.

Alternate black beans and chicken into tortillas. (or make combination of a little of each in one tortilla) Fold like envelope, and with tooth picks, hold them together. Deep fry until lightly brown. Remove toothpicks. Set on paper towel lined baking sheet.

Remove paper towel. Line up your flauta rolls on cookie sheet neatly. With a spatula, layer sour cream on top. Then layer with shredded or the Mexican crumble cheese. Then your tomato, (onion) and lettuce. Serve. Top with salsa if you wish, but they're good without it. Enjoy!

Thank you for your continued support. YVI thanks the military for all they do. Without them defending freedoms, organizations such as this could not exist.
Hope everyone had a great weekend, and please sign the petition, and enjoy the flautas!
