Notes: Hi, My name is Gracie. I was brought into the shelter by my owners. I am in the family way, and I could have my puppies any minute. This is where I need help, if someone would come to the shelter and get me so I can have my babies in a warm, loving place. I am such a sweet girl who did not have responsible owners. All they had to do was spayed me. So if there is any kind person out there that can help me, please contact the shelter. The shelter is so small and time is running out for my unborn babies and myself! PLEASE GIVE MY BABIES AND MYSELF A SECOND CHANCE TO BE LOVED!

Those weren't men who tortured Dolly.  They were subhumans.  Real men love their animals and have a healthy respect for life.  I wish they could be tied up and poked with cattle prods so they can see how it feels.

Dolly has unique looks and the sweetest personality! She came to our shelter when a kind and concerned person saw her being tormented by some men with an electric cattle prod. Dolly was pregnant at the time and her rescuer brought her to the safety of the shelter. Sadly, her pups did not survive but she has been healed and has maintained the calmest and sweetest nature. Dolly likes everyone and will gently nose whoever is around in the hopes of gaining your attention. She will look up at you with a happy grin. She does not jump up on people or pull on the leash. She is calm and patient and likes children. Surprisingly her experiences have not left her fearful, only gentle. Dolly has shown us that she is not a "runner." The few times she has been out without a leash on she does not run off but comes to you for affection. Dolly currently shares a pen with 3 other dogs and has shown she can get along well with any other willing dog. Her looks are unique in that she has one
ice blue eye and one brown eye. She gets that from her Catahoula ancestry. She also has the patchy coloring of a Catahoula. Subtle coat colorings are hard to see in the pictures. She has the head and body shape and size of a Beagle. Dolly has periodic outbreaks of skin irritation. It is not contagious and is treatable. This condition is an immune system deficiency that can be triggered or worsened by stress. The shelter is a pretty stressful environment and many times dogs that show symptoms of a skin condition in the shelter will have it disappear in a calm and loving home environment. Dolly will make a most loving and joyful companion. Will you invite her into your life and show her how good people can be?
