Ladies, where is the outrage? According to the Associated Press (Dec. 1, 2006), the United States prison population has set a new record with 7 million in jail. Astonishingly, one in every 32 adult Americans languish behind bars.

The driving force behind the escalating prison count is women. In accordance with Marc Mauer, executive director of the Sentencing Project, a Washington DC-based organization, "Misguided policies that create harsher sentences for nonviolent drug offenses are disproportionately responsible for the increasing rates of women in prison". Nearly 51% of the inmates incarcerated in federal prisons are for petty drug offenses.

Moms, grandmas, great-grandmas, are you paying attention? Your daughters, and sons, are next! For what reason? Many of the so-called drug offenses are simply for the personal use of marijuana. Corrupt politicians and disingenious law enforcement agencies across the broad spectrum of political ideologies and sound police policies, are responsible for the misguided laws prohibiting cannabis. Described in the Torah as a holy plant, a healing plant.

Discredit all of those fools, posing to continue the failed prohibition of marijuana. Women were the main instrument of change spearheading a reversal of America's prohibition against alcohol and the dark days of Al Capone. Today, all women, and men, must be engaged for the issue of marijuana prohibition is a major civil rights violation and an abomination against God.

Speak the truth. Women must become vocal leaders in the march towards marijuana legalization or else they risk being separated from their babies distanced only by iron bars...
