12 Signs Your Cat is Cheating on You

  • 3 of 3

9. He Avoids Eye Contact – Lately you’ve noticed that he’s been avoiding eye contact and acting shady, come to think of it you can’t even remember the last time he made direct eye contact with you. That’s a surefire sign of a two-timing kitty.

10. He’s Always Out – He used to be an indoor cat that showed little to no interest in going out but now he’s out all day, and you know for a fact that he isn’t hanging out with his friends as you see them splayed out in the same spot every day and he’s nowhere to be seen.

11. He Frequently Picks Fights – You’re both sitting watching TV and everything seems to be just fine and then out of nowhere he decides to nip you when you reach for the remote…and it’s not the first time either. Picking a fight with you for no reason gives him an excuse to get mad and storm out of the house and thus the opportunity to meet his ‘secret carer.’

12. He Starts Giving You A Lot More Gifts – Before you were lucky to get a dead mouse once in a blue moon but these days they’re showing up all over the house. These ‘guilt gifts’ are most likely the cause of a guilty conscience and showering you with gifts makes him feel better.

Is your kitty guilty of any of these 12 tell tale signs? What gave the game away?

It certainly appears that someone knows their cats.

When reading this, thought about human cheating... also, have to agree that cats should not "roam free" ... it has become increasingly dangerous for them out there.

My Mom did have an affair with three cats, but it was because they were completely neglected and quite starved by the neighbor lady (she certainly believed that because they were more or less indoor cats they can find a proper meal outside - which was not possible there). She gave them food and kindness and medical care (against worms and insects and parasite). In the end, they were completely hers.

Seems like the author is reliving a personal experience with a human. Oh how can our pussies be so two faced as a human? Didnt think puss was capable of that!
Now that is getting to be TOO human. ;-)

As a metro neighborhood dweller, would not feel comfortable exposing my 3 cats to the dangers of traffic and not right minded people who roam the streets. However, my cats still find ways to hide and scare me to think they've run off ---> until they are hungry or want attention.

I realize the article is meant to be "tongue in cheek", but as a cat rescuer, it is my firm belief that we need to stop alluding that it is ok for cat's to roam free. Cat's need to be indoors ONLY, unless a fenced- in outdoor "catio" is provided. There are just too many way's they can be hurt or killed, unintentionally as well as intentionally.

When I go away, I take my cat to the kitty condos. Anyone who comes in contact with her, write a notation on a folder that is given to me. On more than one occasion the comments have been something like, "Has to have her loving." That's her alright.

I admit it- I'm having an affair with my neighbor's cat. It all started over catnip which grows abundantly in my flower beds. i was doing some late summer culling of dying plants and he just sauntered up Damn, he was a looker- sleek stainless steel grey with boots and mittens and a.bib-he was a lady killer...our eyes met- it was like we'd known each other for ever.He imbibed in a little catnip and flopped down next to me, purring and rolling. The belly rubs and ear scruffles were out of this world.it was magical and we knew this was a love for the ages. He's the sweetest cat- he now comes to visit me every day. First thing in the morning when I open the back door, he's on the back stoop waiting for attention. He comes in and explores the house and when he wants a drink of water he jumps in the bath tub and I turn the faucet on for a light drizzle for him. He's just a total love nugget. ....
