1. Feces extracted from civet cats’ anal glands, simply called “civet.” The Straight Dope reports that the World Society for the Protection of Animals has investigated civet harvesting, and it goes something like this: “the animals are kept in tiny cages for years. Every few days the keepers scrape the civet out of the anal sacs, a painful procedure (not to mention one of the world’s worst jobs). The WSPA says that Chanel, Cartier, and Lancome have all admitted to using civet in their products.”

Cat, sorry if I digressed a bit from what you were saying, and I should also say that I agree with you…
I think that that are some people who feel that since this supposedly happened on private property and…

+ add your ownYou are so right Mark, I am cutting many things out of my diet which have palm oil in, it is annoying how many companies use it when they do not need to.
Example; Skippy peanut butter uses palm oil, whereas others don't, they use peanut oil. Does peanut oil in peanut butter sound more appropriate????
People should look at the ingredients more closely.
You guys forgot to mention THE most important ingredient in a lot of products today; Palm Oil! The worst of the worst and the new and improved destroyer of the planet.
Most of you will be very surprised how much of your household has got it in.
;( Tks for info.
I keep learning how disgusting humans are and how cruel they can be just for immaterial purposes.
Is there anywhere in this world where we can be free from lies and deceit? Why are these ingredients not displayed on the bottles, so we can make an informed choice? Although even if they were they would probably be written in a way that sounds nice, just like they do with animal products in food, eg. sausages... 100% pork? No, 100% PIG, there is a difference.... again, deceit!
Animals will continue to suffer whilst people keep saying 'Oh, don't tell me, I don't want to know'... if you buy these products and contribute to this barbaric suffering, you should be FORCED to know what you are causing.
I found this site before Xmas, but I haven't ordered from it yet, it is worth a look, at least we know we have choices.

How 'bout we just keep *clean*? Then, maybe just a li'l dab of essential oil? No more perfume/cologne for me!
Thank you Piper, for Sharing this!
Poor animals; such a disgrace
This is so wrong! What a shame :(
Shocking and repulsive. Makes me think twice about using perfume. Also makes you think if these ingredients are in soap, bodywash and deoderant
