When it comes to tea, green is best. So while any tea is suggested to reduce the risk of stroke, some cancers and heart disease, green tea is better than most. That’s because although it is made from the same leaf as black tea,†it is not created in the same way. Green tea has more antioxidants than black tea and other teas because during the production process, its antioxidants arenít oxidized.
Green tea contains EGCG, which is an antioxidant, and can locate cancer cells and kill them without damaging healthy cells. Green tea also increases the amount of good cholesterol, while diminishing the amount of bad cholesterol. And it gets better! Researchers at the University of Geneva found that green tea increases metabolism, meaning that your body burns more calories per day. And it tastes great.
