Actor Josh Charles: I Support Marriage Equality (VIDEO)

Actor Josh Charles, who plays lawyer Will Gardner on CBS drama The Good Wife, has recorded a video for the HRC’s new Americans for Marriage Equality project.

“I play a lawyer on TV. You don’t need a law degree to understand fundamental fairness. Everyone should have the right to marry the person they love,” the 40-year-old actor says in this 30-second ad.

You may remember that earlier this year HRC mounted a concentrated campaign for marriage equality in New York. The campaign, called New Yorkers for Marriage Equality, featured videos from high profiled individuals like Uma Thurman, Whoopi Goldberg, Vanessa Williams and many other well known faces talking about why they support giving same-sex couples equal access to marriage. Now, HRC has extended that campaign to encompass full federal marriage equality.

Americans for Marriage Equality is a public engagement campaign featuring prominent Americans who support committed gay and lesbian couples getting married. The campaign draws from a cadre of supportive professional athletes, film and music celebrities, political and civil rights leaders.

Actor Josh Charles joins names like acclaimed Broadway Playwright Katori Hall, civil rights figure Julian Bond, and several other well known names who support full marriage equality for same-sex couples.

Good for you Josh!! I have to admit that if someone had asked me who Josh Charles is, I would not have been able to answer. But seeing the picture, I immediately said "Oh there's Will Gardner off the Good Wife" Great show, great character!
