Hilary Swank Joins the Cause

Actress Hilary Swank has added her voice to the cause of finding homes for homeless pets. She is working with the Iams Home for the Holidays campaign, which works to find homes for as many animals as possible between October 1, and January 4. Their goal is to find homes for 1.5 million pets!
Hilary has two adopted dogs, Karoo and Rumi. She is quick to point out, that just because you want a specific breed, doesn't mean you can't adopt from a rescue or shelter.
This is a great campaign, especially now when economic hardships have forced many people (and their pets) out of their homes. With Hilary on board as the 2009 spokeswoman, the cause is sure to get a lot of exposure.

Hillary is great, but she is supporting the wrong corporation. Im not familiar with the animal experimentation but it isnt surprising to hear it. I do know they have cr@ppy pet food that is nutrition-less, and they have the gall to promote it as a premium brand? garbage.
Hope they can re-home some animals in their efforts at PR.

Alas, I wish I could but my mom is allergic to cats so we have to get one from a breeder, as there are none in any of our local shelters.

IAMS, the great animal experimentation corporation. Anything for more and more profit!!! That's what counts. Hilary Swank might want to have a talk with them about that.

Unfortunately the fact that more people are forced to rent instead of own their own home has forced many of them to give up owning pets.

any cats or dogs that dont have a home , should be put down , thats it , people get pets , and then let them go free ,

IAMS as in the pet food, has anybody seen undercover footage of the research they do on cats and dog to produce their pet food? I have and its vile,inducing heart attacks, force feeding, poisioning dogs. Good on the animals that will be rehomed, but what about the ones that people like us dont see.

We adopted a dog from the Shelter. Some one brought her in and said she was a stray. I cannot believe that as she never leaves my side whether in the house or the street. I don't know the reason they did this to her but she is our pride and joy and brings a smile to the face of all visitors and our family.
